BMW Motorrad’s R 1300 R “TITAN” is a one-off custom sprint racer, not a nitrous retrofit kit for owners. What is the BMW R 1300 R TITAN?
BMW Motorrad presented the TITAN on July 8, 2025, as a sprint-racing interpretation of its R 1300 R road motorcycle. A small team of BMW Motorrad employees created the custom project; it is not presented as a production model or consumer retrofit package. BMW’s announcement describes it as a custom bike.
The project team comprised Philipp Ludwig, project manager; Andreas Martin, vehicle designer; Theresa Stukenbrock, color and graphics designer; and prototype builders Paul Summerer and Thomas Becker.
What makes the build different from a standard R 1300 R?
The TITAN turns the road bike’s tank and fairing lines into a compact racing silhouette with monocoque-style bodywork. A prominent air-duct panel and forward-weighted visual design emphasize the bike’s sprint purpose; BMW says the layout is intended to help keep the front wheel down at launch.

The details are documented as parts of this custom build, not as a compatibility list or set of approved upgrades for a stock R 1300 R. BMW Spain cautions that third-party accessories can affect handling and that modified vehicles are used at the owner’s risk. BMW Motorrad Spain’s feature includes that warning.
Does the TITAN really use NOS?
Yes. BMW says the nitrous oxide bottle feeds the injection system at the push of a button, with the added power intended for the run toward the finish line. The bottle sits conspicuously between the two rear titanium silencers.

BMW has not stated how much power the nitrous adds. BMW Spain says official extra-power figures are unknown, and neither cited BMW material supplies a tested quarter-mile time or top speed. Treat descriptions of a power boost as BMW’s explanation of the system’s intended use, not as published performance testing.
How much power does the BMW TITAN make?
BMW’s TITAN announcement identifies a 1,300 cc boxer but does not give the custom bike’s horsepower or torque. New Atlas reports 140 hp and 110 lb-ft (81 Nm), but does not establish those as independently measured TITAN outputs; they should not be mistaken for a BMW-published test result. No official nitrous gain is stated. New Atlas’s July 2025 report is the source for those engine figures.

Can you buy the BMW R 1300 R TITAN or retrofit NOS?
BMW Spain labels the pictured TITAN “Not for sale.” The cited sources do not establish a production plan, retail TITAN package or bolt-on nitrous kit for R 1300 R owners. The project’s named components likewise are not documented here as a compatible, approved upgrade set for the production motorcycle.
