That page lists a $16,695 base MSRP and $22,415 as shown, so the 2025 announcement’s earlier price is no longer the best guide to current pricing.
BMW R 1300 R specifications
BMW’s current U.S. technical-data page lists these figures for the R 1300 R. They are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results, and BMW says specifications may change without notice.

BMW’s 2025 launch announcement compared the new model with its predecessor, citing 136 hp and 105 lb-ft for the earlier bike. Those are BMW’s comparison figures, not results from an independent back-to-back test. BMW also says the higher output does not increase fuel consumption relative to the predecessor, but the cited pages do not provide an independently measured consumption figure. The 4.5-gallon tank capacity alone is not enough to establish real-world range.

What changed in the chassis and suspension?
BMW describes a redesigned sheet-steel main frame paired with a die-cast aluminum rear frame, a 47 mm upside-down telescopic fork and revised EVO Paralever II rear suspension. It says the wheels are 3.0 lb lighter in combination.

Optional Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) adds electronic damping and spring-rate adjustment, with settings BMW says respond to riding mode, conditions and maneuvers. BMW called DSA’s spring-rate adjustment in a series-production motorcycle upside-down fork a first. These are the manufacturer’s technical descriptions; they do not establish how the bike performs on the road.
Equipment and rider-assistance technology
BMW’s April 2025 U.S. announcement listed the following as standard equipment and options for the announced U.S. model. Equipment can vary by model year, market and package, so check the exact motorcycle’s specification before ordering.

BMW’s current U.S. technical-data page presents a separate equipment listing: Keyless Ride, DCC, a USB-C charging socket and Dynamic ESA appear under standard equipment, while DSA, sport suspension, sport tires, DTC-Shift/core screens, a locking navigation-device mount and Riding Assistant appear as options. That page’s labels and year context should not be merged with the 2025 announcement into a universal equipment list.
Design, seating position and touring options
BMW describes the R 1300 R’s design as more compact and aggressive, with an aluminum tank, short rear section and a riding position intended to put the rider farther forward over the front wheel. The company says the handlebars can be repositioned 0.4 inches farther from the rider. Four-way adjustable footrests are exclusive to the Style Performance variant, according to the launch announcement.

The announcement describes standard, high, low and comfort seat options, plus heated seats, a higher windscreen and luggage. These give buyers ways to tailor the bike for fit and longer trips, but BMW’s stated comfort and handling aims are not a substitute for an independent ride assessment.
U.S. BMW R 1300 R price and model year
BMW’s April 10, 2025 U.S. announcement called the motorcycle the 2026 BMW R 1300 R, forecast a late Q3 or early Q4 2025 market launch and listed an MSRP of $16,595 plus destination, subject to change. BMW’s currently accessible U.S. model page displays the 2027 model and lists $16,695 base MSRP and $22,415 as shown. The current page says its $995 destination and handling fee is excluded, as are tax, title, licensing and registration. These are figures from different dated BMW listings, not competing prices for the same dated offer. Check with a U.S. BMW Motorrad dealer for current availability and the price of a specific configuration.

BMW R 1300 R accessories and fitment
BMW’s accessory listing includes a model-specific black tank bag with a 5–8 L capacity, electrified 26 L and 29 L side cases, a passenger-seat cover, carbon cylinder guard, rear angular gearbox guard and a navigation-device mount with electronic locking. The tank bag is a practical starting point for buyers seeking compact storage. The listing does not establish Amazon stock or third-party compatibility; confirm model year and mount fitment with BMW or the seller before buying.

BMW’s design chief Alexander Buckan said the R 1300 R was intended to be sportier than its predecessor, with an aggressive look and a focus on dynamic riding on winding country roads. Development chief Christof Lischka described the target as greater riding dynamics while retaining BMW’s touring capability and comfort. Those comments explain the company’s design intent, not independently verified handling or comfort outcomes.
