The edition matters more than any generic travel guide. BMW’s listed 2026 BMW Motorrad Days was a three-day event in Marga, Bali, Indonesia, on September 24–26, 2026. BMW said tickets and advance registration were required, attendance was limited, and parking and public transport were available, but the listing did not publish hotel advice, parking locations, route numbers or transit timetables. The camping map and shuttle information often found online belong to earlier Garmisch-Partenkirchen editions and must not be applied to Bali or a future event.
Start by identifying the correct BMW Motorrad Days edition
“BMW Motorrad Days” is not tied to one permanent venue. The current BMW listing identified a 2026 edition in Marga, Bali, Indonesia, while the detailed transport and camping documents available for comparison concern BMW Motorrad Days in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 listing | Marga, Bali, Indonesia; September 24–26, 2026 | Three-day event; ticket and advance registration required; participant numbers limited; parking available; venue described as accessible by public transport | Parking entrances, road directions, bus or rail route numbers, schedules, hotel list, campsite terms and prices |
| 2025 programme | Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany; July 4–6, 2025 | Event map showing camping areas at Hausberg and Klammstrasse; rider-equipment requirement for test rides and introductory enduro training; on-site tyre service, two BMW Motorrad service vehicles and a repair tent for minor repairs | Whether those facilities or campsites continued after 2025, and whether any apply in Bali |
| 2024 programme | Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany | Friday and Saturday shuttle operating windows, seven listed route patterns, limited bus capacity and taxis as an alternative | Any continuing validity for 2025, Bali or a later Garmisch edition |
If your booking, social post or map names Garmisch-Partenkirchen, use the historical German information only as a planning reference. If it names Marga or Bali, rely on the Bali edition’s own ticket and travel communications. A future edition may move again or change its transport system.
Accommodation: what you can and cannot confirm
Marga, Bali (2026 listing)
The 2026 listing does not name hotels, guesthouses, resorts, campsites, prices, booking windows or a recommended distance from the venue. It also does not state whether event camping was offered. You therefore need to arrange lodging independently and verify the address against the final event information rather than assuming that a hotel near a previous BMW Motorrad Days is relevant.

When comparing a Bali stay, ask the property for its exact road address, late check-in policy, secure motorcycle parking, luggage storage, breakfast hours and realistic travel time during the event dates. Keep the reservation cancellable until the organizer confirms the final access plan. “Accessible by public transport” is a general statement in the listing, not a promise that a particular bus, train or ride-hailing service will run at your preferred time.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen (2025 programme)
The 2025 official programme map labels camping areas at Hausberg and Klammstrasse. That establishes that camping areas were shown for the July 4–6, 2025 Garmisch event; it does not provide a current campsite price, booking process, pitch size, electrical-hookup information, shower standard or availability for another year. Do not arrive expecting a pitch unless the edition-specific programme or organizer has confirmed it.

For a hotel, guesthouse or apartment in Garmisch, compare walking distance to the event, proximity to a published shuttle stop, cancellation terms and a place to store riding gear. A property near a 2024 stop may not be near a stop in a later programme. Oberau, Murnau, Mittenwald and other places appeared in the 2024 shuttle information, but the documents do not establish current room supply or prices there.

Parking and driving
What is confirmed for Bali 2026
BMW’s Marga listing says parking is available. It does not identify lots, motorcycle-only areas, entry gates, opening hours, fees, overflow arrangements, traffic controls or whether parking can be reserved. Treat “parking available” as confirmation that a parking option exists, not as a guaranteed space at the gate.

Driving to a Garmisch edition
The supplied Garmisch documents focus on camping and shuttles rather than a current parking directory. If you drive to a later Garmisch event, wait for that year’s traffic and parking instructions. The 2025 map’s Hausberg and Klammstrasse labels identify event camping areas, not a promise of unrestricted car parking.

Public transport, shuttles and taxis
Bali 2026
The 2026 listing says the venue is accessible by public transport but supplies no route numbers, stop names, departure times or last-service information. Before leaving your accommodation, obtain the organizer’s edition-specific directions and check the return journey as carefully as the outbound trip. A public-transport statement alone does not tell you whether service continues after evening concerts or whether luggage and riding gear are practical on the route.

“Please note that bus capacity is limited!” — BMW Motorrad, 2024 programme.
Seven route patterns served local stops and destinations including the railway station, Eibsee, Oberau, Murnau and Mittenwald. The published material does not provide a current route map in this brief, and none of those routes should be assumed to operate for Bali or a later Garmisch event.
| Option | Historical information available | Capacity or timing risk | Use it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Event shuttle (Garmisch 2024) | Friday and Saturday windows of about 17:15–20:20 inbound and 21:20–01:40 outbound | Limited capacity; exact departures posted at stops | You have the edition’s current stop notice and can tolerate waiting |

Rider equipment and on-site support in the 2025 Garmisch programme
If you plan a test ride or introductory enduro training at a Garmisch event, the 2025 programme says complete rider equipment is obligatory. Bring the complete protective kit required by the event rather than assuming that ordinary travel clothing will be accepted. The programme does not list every item in the supplied material, so verify the current equipment checklist before departure.
The same 2025 programme documented an on-site tyre service, two BMW Motorrad service vehicles and a repair tent for minor repairs. These are useful contingencies for that edition, but they are not a guarantee of service at Bali 2026 or a future Garmisch gathering. Carry the roadside essentials you would need to reach help if a service point is closed or busy.
A practical, edition-safe planning sequence
- Record the edition. Write down the year, country, town and venue shown on your ticket. “BMW Motorrad Days” alone is not enough.
- Complete registration. The Bali 2026 listing required a ticket and advance registration, with participant numbers limited. Do this before arranging non-refundable travel.
- Book lodging against the right map. Use a Bali address for Marga; use the current Garmisch programme for Garmisch. Treat the 2025 Hausberg and Klammstrasse labels as historical unless the organizer republishes them.
- Confirm the arrival mode. For Bali, request parking-entry details or a public-transport route. For Garmisch, obtain the current shuttle stop notice and operating dates.
- Plan the return. Check the last bus, taxi availability and walking route after the event. In 2024 Garmisch, the reverse shuttle window began around 21:20 and ended around 01:40, but those times are not current guarantees.
- Prepare for capacity limits. Arrive early for a limited-capacity shuttle, and keep a taxi or designated-driver plan available.
- Check riding requirements. Anyone joining a test ride or enduro introduction should verify the current complete-equipment rule and bring compliant gear.
- Recheck shortly before departure. Confirm venue access, parking, camping, shuttle times and service facilities in the edition-specific organizer notice; event logistics can change after a programme PDF is published.
Common planning mistakes
- Using Garmisch information for Bali: the locations, roads, transit systems and campsite rules are unrelated.
- Assuming a map equals a reservation: the 2025 Garmisch map shows camping areas but does not establish that a pitch is available to you.
- Reading “public transport available” as a timetable: the Bali listing gives no route numbers or service hours.
- Relying on one shuttle departure: the 2024 programme explicitly warned of limited capacity and directed passengers to posted stop notices for exact times.
- Leaving equipment checks until arrival: complete rider equipment was obligatory for the 2025 Garmisch test rides and introductory enduro training.
- Booking non-refundable rooms too early: confirm the venue and edition before committing to lodging outside the event area.
What to verify in the final organizer notice
- Exact venue address and entrance gates
- Parking location, fee, opening hours and overflow procedure
- Public-transport route numbers, stop names and final return service
- Shuttle operating days, capacity rules and ticketing, if used
- Camping opening dates, reservation requirements, facilities and vehicle access
- Current test-ride and enduro equipment checklist
- On-site repair, tyre and medical-support arrangements
The reliable answer to “How do I get to BMW Motorrad Days?” is therefore edition-specific: Marga, Bali was the listed 2026 location with parking and public transport noted but not detailed; Garmisch has useful 2024–2025 historical guidance, including camping labels, limited-capacity shuttles and rider-equipment rules, that must be revalidated before use.
