Why does the Munich plant matter to BMW M’s electric plans?
BMW says Munich is planned to build the first fully electric BMW M3. The company also announced that from 2027 the plant is to produce only fully electric vehicles. These are BMW’s stated plans, not confirmation that the electric M3 has entered production or that the plant transition is complete.
How does the milestone car relate to the current M3 Competition?
For US-market context, BMW USA lists the M3 Competition Sedan with M xDrive at 523 hp and a 0–60 mph time of 3.4 seconds. Those are specifications shown on BMW USA’s 2027 3 Series Sedan M Models page; they should not be assumed to apply in every market or to every model year. BMW’s milestone announcement names the Fire Orange III finish, but the reviewed sources do not establish its availability across markets.
