A 35-year-old man riding an e-scooter died after colliding with a white Isuzu truck at the intersection of Walliabup Way and Bibra Drive in Bibra Lake on the morning of 8 July 2025. Police announced a Major Crash Investigation Section investigation and appealed for information and footage. The collision occurred at about 10:40am on Tuesday, 8 July 2025, at the intersection of Walliabup Way and Bibra Drive in Bibra Lake, Western Australia. It involved a white Isuzu truck and a 35-year-old male e-scooter rider.
The rider was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries. PerthNow reported that the truck driver was not injured.
What police said about the investigation
The Government of Western Australia announced that Major Crash Investigation Section officers were investigating the fatal crash. The announcement, last updated on 16 July 2025, asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. It also provided a route for submitting dash-camera, mobile-phone or CCTV footage.

Wider road-safety context
PerthNow reported on 8 July 2025 that Western Australia’s road toll stood at 108 at that point in 2025, compared with 94 at the same point in 2024 and 78 in 2023. These are figures reported at the time, not current totals or counts specific to e-scooter crashes.
The crash was also reported amid wider discussion of eRideables, including a parliamentary inquiry. The WA Parliament record says that inquiry, whose scope expanded to include e-bikes and electric dirt bikes, concluded and was tabled on 4 December 2025. It addressed the broader subject; it does not determine what happened in the Bibra Lake collision.
