For 2026 U.S. models, five sport bikes in the available manufacturer evidence have advertised pricing below $10,000: the Honda CBR500R, Kawasaki Ninja 650, Honda CBR650R E-Clutch, Suzuki GSX-8R and Kawasaki Ninja 650 ABS. The best fit depends on what you want from the bike, and a listed MSRP is not necessarily the amount you will pay at the dealership.
This guide compares the candidates using manufacturer-listed prices and specifications. It does not rank them by riding comfort, handling or overall performance: those comparisons require independent ride assessments that are not established here.
How to read the prices
Manufacturer pricing has different layers. Base MSRP is not an out-the-door quote: destination or freight, taxes, title, registration, dealer charges, setup, options and local pricing can affect the final amount. The figures below are for 2026 U.S. models and come from manufacturer information; confirm the current price and availability with a local dealer.
- Base MSRP: The manufacturer’s stated starting price before any separately listed charges.
- Destination-inclusive MSRP: A manufacturer total that includes a stated destination charge, but not necessarily taxes, registration, dealer fees or other costs.
- Out-the-door quote: The dealer’s itemized total for your location and chosen motorcycle. Ask for this before comparing offers.
Five 2026 sport bikes with verified pricing
| Model | Manufacturer-listed price | What the cited specifications establish |
|---|---|---|
| Honda CBR500R | $6,399 base MSRP; $600 destination; $6,999 total MSRP before taxes and other excluded costs | 471 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin; slipper clutch |
| Kawasaki Ninja 650 | $7,599 non-ABS or $8,199 ABS base MSRP; $685 destination, for $8,284 or $8,884 before tax and other charges | 649 cc parallel twin; 67.0 hp at 8,000 rpm and 48.5 lb-ft at 6,700 rpm |
| Honda CBR650R E-Clutch | $9,199 base MSRP; $600 destination; $9,799 total MSRP before taxes and other excluded costs | 649 cc liquid-cooled inline-four; six-speed manual with E-Clutch; 41 mm Showa SFF-BP fork; Honda Selectable Torque Control |
| Suzuki GSX-8R | $9,699 base MSRP | The cited U.S. page establishes the price, but not further specifications for this comparison. |
The Ninja 650 appears twice because ABS changes its listed trim price; it is one model, not two separate bikes. Kawasaki’s published prices are base MSRP plus its stated destination charge. Honda’s CBR650R page says MSRP excludes tax, license, registration, dealer-installed options and setup fees, and notes that dealer prices can vary. Suzuki’s $9,699 figure excludes taxes, title, license, registration, destination freight and delivery charges, dealer fees and optional equipment.

- Zongshen Engine with EFI Technology: HHH GTX 250 is powered by a Zongshen-brand engine and uses electronic fuel injection for better performance and fuel economy with high power output
- Easier Starting System: The EFI system optimizes fuel delivery for ambient conditions, ensuring reliable and easy engine starts, especially in cold weather, without the need for a manual choke
Which verified option fits your priorities?
Honda CBR500R: lower listed price
At $6,999 total MSRP including the stated destination charge, the CBR500R has the lowest destination-inclusive figure among the models with a documented total here. Its 471 cc parallel twin and slipper clutch are established by Honda’s model information. The available evidence does not establish comparative comfort, acceleration or handling, so use a test ride and fit check to decide whether it suits your needs.
Kawasaki Ninja 650: documented middleweight value
The Ninja 650 has the clearest combination of listed price and engine-output figures in this comparison. Kawasaki states 67.0 hp at 8,000 rpm and 48.5 lb-ft at 6,700 rpm for its 649 cc parallel twin. Choose between the non-ABS and ABS prices based on the trim you intend to buy, then add destination and obtain a local quote.
Rank #2
- Engine Type: Single Cylinder, 4-Stroke, Air-Cooled, Fuel-Injected – Built for durability and consistent performance.
- Fuel System: Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) – Optimized fuel delivery for maximum efficiency.
- Transmission: 6-Speed Manual Sport Clutch – Seamless gear shifts for ultimate control.
- Brakes: Front & Rear Hydraulic Disc – Precision stopping power for enhanced safety.
- Weight: 295 lbs (Net) | 365 lbs (Gross) – Lightweight yet robust for peak performance.
Honda CBR650R E-Clutch: inline-four and clutch technology
The CBR650R pairs a 649 cc inline-four with a six-speed manual and Honda E-Clutch. Honda also lists a 41 mm Showa SFF-BP fork and Honda Selectable Torque Control. Its $9,799 destination-inclusive MSRP is under $10,000 before taxes and other excluded costs; that does not guarantee an under-$10,000 out-the-door purchase.
Suzuki GSX-8R: near the budget ceiling
Suzuki lists the 2026 GSX-8R at $9,699 base MSRP, but the cited price excludes destination freight and delivery as well as taxes, dealer fees and other listed charges. Because a destination-inclusive total is not established here, compare a written dealer quote with the other bikes’ quoted totals rather than treating $9,699 as the final price.

Other Kawasaki lineup candidates
Kawasaki’s U.S. sport-model lineup also lists the Ninja 500, Ninja 500 SE ABS, Ninja 300 ABS and Ninja ZX-4R with starting or base prices below $10,000. The available lineup information does not provide all model-specific price and specification details needed for a like-for-like comparison, and its displayed base prices exclude destination and other charges. Check the current product page and dealer quote for the exact model year and trim before treating any of these as a sub-$10,000 purchase.

How to choose and verify your actual price
- Choose the model year and trim. Confirm whether the offer is for a 2026 motorcycle and, for the Ninja 650, whether it is the ABS or non-ABS version.
- Compare riding fit in person. Sit on the bike and, where possible, arrange a test ride. Posture and comfort are personal; the listed specifications do not settle which model will fit you best.
- Compare equipment you will actually use. Check the exact trim’s ABS and rider aids, suspension and braking equipment. Do not assume another year or trim has the same package.
- Request an itemized out-the-door quote. Ask the dealer to show destination or freight, setup, dealer fees, taxes, title, registration and optional equipment separately. Compare quotes for the same model, trim and location.
- Check ownership support locally. Confirm dealer availability, warranty terms, parts and service access, and any current incentives directly with the manufacturer or dealer. These factors are not compared across brands by the listed MSRP and specifications.
