Best Electric ATV for Adults in 2026: The Shortlist That Holds Up

The 2026 Can-Am Outlander Electric is the strongest documented full-size adult electric ATV choice. Here is what its range and utility specs mean, plus a compact alternative and why five credible picks are hard to justify.

If you want a full-size electric utility ATV for adult riding in the U.S., the strongest documented choice is the 2026 Can-Am Outlander Electric. It has selectable 2WD/4WD, high and low gears, and a manufacturer-stated 31-mile average utility range. There is not enough verified evidence for five distinct, currently available adult electric ATV models; the Venom E-Grizzly is a smaller, teen-size alternative, not a peer utility quad.

Adult electric ATV picks at a glance

Option Best for What is established Price and availability
2026 Can-Am Outlander Electric Full-size utility use 47 hp peak, selectable 2WD/4WD, high and low gears; 31-mile average utility range and 50-mile WMTC-tested range, per BRP’s 2026 North American specification sheet. U.S. starting MSRP $12,999 before transportation and preparation; see Can-Am’s 2026 product page.
2026 Can-Am Outlander MAX Electric Riders who need the manufacturer-designated passenger configuration Same model family, with a removable passenger seat. Confirm capacity and operating instructions for the exact vehicle. U.S. starting MSRP $14,299 before transportation and preparation; see Can-Am’s 2026 product page.
Venom E-Grizzly 1500W 48V Compact recreational use, if its dimensions fit Seller lists 1,500 W, lead-acid battery, 150 kg maximum load and 20 mph maximum speed; it labels the ATV teen-size. Seller listed $1,999.99 and marked it sold out when checked. See Venom’s listing.

The Can-Am figures in this table are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independent comparative test results. Venom’s figures are seller claims. Prices and inventory can change.

Best full-size adult electric ATV: Can-Am Outlander Electric

The Outlander Electric is the clearest fit if you need a working ATV rather than a small recreational quad. BRP’s 2026 North American spec sheet lists a liquid-cooled Rotax E-Power motor rated at 47 hp peak and 53 lb-ft peak torque, an 8.9 kWh integrated lithium-ion battery, selectable 2WD/4WD with Visco-Lok QE, and Work, Standard and Sport modes. It also has high and low gears, useful when choosing between faster travel and slower, controlled work. See the 2026 Outlander Electric specification sheet.

Range: distinguish the test result from working range

BRP reports 50 miles under the WMTC test cycle and separately gives an average utility range of 31 miles. Treat 50 miles as a test-cycle figure, not a guaranteed trip distance. Terrain, temperature, load and riding style affect actual range; plan around the more conservative utility figure and leave room for conditions that increase energy use.

Charging and connector

The spec sheet lists a 6.6 kW Level 2 onboard charger that is compatible with Level 1 charging, using a Type 1 J1772 connector. BRP’s listed charge times are:

  • Level 2: 50 minutes from 20% to 80%; 1 hour 30 minutes from 0% to 100%.
  • Level 1: 3 hours 10 minutes from 20% to 80%; 5 hours 15 minutes from 0% to 100%.

These are manufacturer-listed times. Check that the charging equipment available where you ride is compatible with the vehicle’s connector and charging requirements; a generic cable should not be assumed to work.

Utility dimensions and limits

BRP lists an estimated dry weight of 875 lb, 12 inches of ground clearance, a 38-inch seat height and a stated towing capacity of 1,830 lb. Compare the towing and clearance figures with the load and terrain you actually expect, and consult the operator’s guide for applicable operating limits.

Two-up option: Outlander MAX Electric

The MAX Electric is the relevant configuration if you need a passenger seat: Can-Am describes it as removable. The 2026 U.S. starting MSRP is $14,299 before transportation and preparation, compared with $12,999 for the single-seat Outlander Electric. Can-Am’s product page states up to 50 miles of range and charging from 20% to 80% in as little as 50 minutes for these models. Those headline claims do not replace the more detailed range and charging conditions in the specification sheet.

Passenger use should be limited to a vehicle specifically designated for it. BRP warns against carrying passengers on ATVs not designated for that purpose; read the operator’s guide and verify capacity for the exact model before riding two-up.

Compact alternative: Venom E-Grizzly

The E-Grizzly is not an equivalent, lower-priced substitute for a full-size utility ATV. Venom calls it “teen-size,” while also marketing it to adults, and advises checking dimensions for riders over 5 feet. Its listing gives a 28.5-inch seat height, 39-inch wheelbase, 150 kg maximum load and 20 mph maximum speed. These are seller-published figures, not independently verified performance findings.

Fit matters more than an adult label or motor wattage. Before considering one, check the current stock status and assess your inseam, knee bend, handlebar reach, foot placement and the stated load limit. The listing described a lead-acid battery; the evidence here does not independently establish its ride-time claims or long-term parts support.

Why this is not a genuine top five

The available evidence supports one full-size adult electric utility ATV platform, its MAX passenger configuration, and one smaller Venom option with significant fit and availability caveats. The MAX is a configuration of the same Can-Am model family, not a separate competing platform. Other roundup results can mix gas-powered ATVs and youth electric quads, which do not answer the same buying question. BSTABO surfaced as a maker of electric off-road vehicles, but model-level adult fit, specifications and availability could not be verified from its official site. Listing five picks anyway would imply comparisons the evidence does not support.

How to decide whether an electric ATV fits your use

  • Adult fit and load: Check frame size, seat height, wheelbase, footpeg position, handlebar reach and rated load. Do not infer adult fit from motor output alone.
  • Utility capability: For work, look for the drive system, low gear, ground clearance, towing capacity, racks, suspension and protection your terrain and tasks require.
  • Range and charging: Separate a test-cycle result from a working-range estimate. Check battery type and capacity, connector, charging level and whether you can charge at your riding location.
  • Rider configuration: Choose a passenger configuration only when the manufacturer designates the exact ATV for passenger use.
  • Ownership support: Confirm current inventory, transport and preparation costs, warranty terms, local dealer service and replacement-parts availability before buying.

Safety and model-year context

BRP’s North American 2026 specification sheet says, “ATVs can be hazardous to operate.” It recommends ATV training and that operators and passengers wear a helmet, eye protection and protective clothing; it also warns against riding on paved surfaces or public roads. Follow the vehicle’s operator’s guide and local rules. The manufacturer’s safety guidance makes properly fitted helmet and eye protection directly relevant.

For buyers shopping the current 2027 U.S. model year rather than the 2026 vehicles above, Can-Am lists the Outlander Electric at $13,249 starting MSRP and the MAX Electric at $14,549, excluding transportation and preparation. Its 2027 page repeats a 50-mile maximum and 31-mile average utility range, and describes the MAX’s removable passenger seat. See Can-Am’s 2027 Outlander Electric page. Model-year pricing and availability may change.
