The manufacturer listing places the E 350, E 350 4MATIC and E 450 4MATIC within this article’s price band, with starting MSRPs from $65,200 to $73,700.

Electric SUV candidates: weigh score, range and tradeoffs
Consumer Reports’ 2026 Buying Guide offers a comparison framework for electric SUVs, but its as-tested prices are not manufacturer starting MSRPs. The guide’s figures below apply to the configurations it evaluated; range and score are not interchangeable measures of value or suitability.

Consumer Reports lists the GV60’s acceleration and quiet cabin as strengths, with short range and distracting controls among its drawbacks. For the Q6 e-tron, the guide cites fast DC charging and agile handling alongside a stiff ride and unintuitive controls. Its Lyriq notes include acceleration, a quiet cabin, ride/handling balance and fast home charging as strengths, and reliability and visibility/control concerns as drawbacks. The guide’s Q6 e-tron as-tested price is above $75,000 even though the manufacturer’s Mercedes examples establish that other electric SUVs start inside the band. Do not treat a tested configuration’s price as a base MSRP—or assume the same model will fall within the ceiling in every trim.
How to choose between the candidates
- Space and access: Decide whether you need a sedan’s lower profile, a conventional SUV’s shape or a coupe-style SUV, then check passenger room, cargo use and ease of getting in and out in person.
- Powertrain and routine: Match gasoline, plug-in hybrid or battery electric to your typical distances, charging access and road-trip habits. The listed starting prices alone do not establish comparative fuel or energy costs, charging performance or real-world range.
- Like-for-like price: Compare the same equipment level and include destination, dealer add-ons, taxes and fees. Ask for a local written quote and check applicable incentives; a starting MSRP is not a transaction price.
- Drive and inspect: Evaluate ride, handling, braking, controls, comfort and usable cargo on a test drive. A review or score cannot confirm that a particular cabin or control layout works for you.
- Separate the evidence: Road-test performance, predicted reliability and owner satisfaction are distinct measures. Consumer Reports’ 2026 guide presents them separately; one should not be used as a substitute for the others.
- Estimate ownership cost: Include insurance, fuel or electricity, maintenance, financing and projected resale rather than relying on sticker price alone.

Check the exact trim before you shop
Small trim changes can cross the ceiling: Mercedes-Benz USA lists the AMG GLC 53 4MATIC+ Coupe at $75,900, just outside this range. The same Audi listing places the Q5 Sportback at $55,100 but the base Q5 at $52,800, below the stated floor. Those examples show why a model name alone is not enough: verify the precise version, current listing and local quote before treating it as a $55,000–$75,000 option.
