Choose the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 if your priorities are stronger published engine output, a muscular streetfighter design and an NS125 variant with single-channel ABS. Choose the Honda SP125 if you want a lighter, lower commuter with documented RoadSync connectivity, USB Type-C charging and idling stop. Neither is universally better. The right answer depends on the exact trim, your local on-road quote and whether performance, convenience, mass, seat height or braking equipment matters most.
This India-focused comparison uses manufacturer specifications and a secondary comparison listing. Mileage figures are owner reports rather than a controlled test, and prices change by city, date and variant.

|---|---|---|
| Published engine output and streetfighter styling | Bajaj Pulsar NS125 | Bajaj publishes the higher power figure and positions the NS125 as a muscular naked motorcycle. |
| Low weight and a lower seat | Honda SP125 | The compared SP125 trim is listed as substantially lighter and has the lower seat height. |
| Connected display and commuter convenience | Honda SP125 | The 2025 model documents a 4.2-inch TFT, Bluetooth, RoadSync compatibility, navigation and voice assist, USB Type-C and idling stop. |
| ABS on the quoted motorcycle | NS125 ABS variant, if available locally | Bajaj lists single-channel ABS with three ABS ride modes on the ABS-equipped NS125. Verify that the dealer is quoting this trim. |
| Best mileage claim | Honda SP125 on the available owner reports | The comparison page reports a higher average for SP125 owners, but the figures are indicative and not an instrumented, like-for-like test. |
| Lowest current price | Cannot be decided from the published figures | The available Bajaj and Honda prices are not a same-date, same-city, same-variant quotation. Get both on-road estimates from local dealers. |
Specifications and equipment compared
The table separates manufacturer specifications from secondary comparison data so that a bhp conversion, an owner-reported economy number and a listed trim feature are not mistaken for the same kind of evidence.

Engine performance: NS125 has the paper advantage
Bajaj’s current specification gives the NS125 a small but clear advantage in published output. Honda’s 2025 SP125 specification lists a slightly lower power and torque figure, paired with a five-speed transmission. Those numbers suggest the NS125 is the more performance-oriented choice on paper, while the SP125 is aimed at smooth everyday use.

Do not convert that specification gap into a claim about a particular top speed, 0–60 km/h time or overtaking result. No controlled back-to-back test was established for these motorcycles. Real acceleration depends on rider mass, fuel load, gearing, road gradient, wind, tyre condition and engine break-in. If you regularly carry a passenger or ride on fast arterial roads, arrange a test ride on the exact variants you would buy and assess roll-on response in a safe, legal setting.
What the NS125’s output means in practice
The NS125’s higher listed output suits a rider who wants a more energetic throttle response and the visual character of a streetfighter. Its 12-litre tank is also documented by Bajaj, useful for riders who prefer fewer fuel stops, although actual range still depends on consumption and reserve use.
What the SP125’s five-speed layout offers
The SP125’s five-speed gearbox and lower listed output are consistent with a commuter brief. A fifth ratio can make steady-speed riding more relaxed, but gear spacing, clutch feel and vibration cannot be judged from the specification sheet. Use the test ride to check clutch take-up in traffic, first-to-second shifts and the engine’s response when you need to merge.
Weight, seat height and everyday handling
The compared NS125 is listed at 144 kg with an 805 mm seat, while the compared SP125 is listed at 117 kg with a 790 mm seat. That 27 kg difference is significant when pushing the motorcycle out of a parking space, making a U-turn, recovering from a lean at walking speed or manoeuvring with a passenger. The lower SP125 seat can also help shorter riders get more of both feet down.

Seat height alone does not determine comfort: seat width, suspension sag, handlebar reach and foot-peg position change how tall a motorcycle feels. A taller rider may prefer the NS125’s stance, while a shorter or less experienced rider may find the SP125 less intimidating. Sit on both with your usual footwear and ask the dealer to let you perform slow full-lock turns before deciding.
Urban use
For dense traffic, frequent stops and narrow parking spaces, the lighter SP125 should require less effort from most riders. The NS125’s extra mass can feel reassuring at speed but is more noticeable when you are repeatedly starting, stopping and balancing.
Longer commutes
Neither source establishes independent ride-comfort measurements. Check the seat padding, wind exposure, wrist angle and suspension response over the broken surfaces on your route. A motorcycle that feels comfortable for ten minutes in a showroom may not suit a daily commute.

The available comparison lists 50.28 kmpl for NS125 owners and 61.87 kmpl for SP125 owners. It also lists 46.9 kmpl as an official economy figure for the NS125, while leaving an official SP125 figure blank. Use the owner numbers as a directional clue, not a promised result. Traffic density, average speed, idling, load, tyre pressure, fuel quality, service condition and riding style can move real consumption substantially. If fuel cost is central to your decision, record your own consumption over several full-tank cycles after purchase rather than relying on a single trip-computer reading or an online average.
Features and connected technology
Honda SP125: the clearer technology package
Honda’s announcement for the 2025 SP125 documents a 4.2-inch TFT, Bluetooth and RoadSync compatibility, with navigation and voice-assist functions. It also specifies USB Type-C charging, LED lighting and an idling-stop system. These features give the SP125 a stronger documented convenience proposition for riders who use a phone for directions or spend long periods in stop-and-go traffic.
Check phone compatibility, pairing steps and whether navigation or voice functions require a particular application or permissions. A connected display is useful only when the phone remains securely mounted, charged and within a reliable connection range. Ask the dealer to demonstrate the exact console rather than assuming every SP125 trim has identical software or hardware.

NS125: simpler connected instrumentation
Bajaj lists a Bluetooth-enabled digital console for the NS125. Its 2024 upgrade announcement described LED lighting and USB charging in addition to the digital console and Bluetooth. This covers the practical basics without matching the SP125’s documented TFT and RoadSync feature list.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Braking and safety equipment: identify the exact trim
Bajaj currently lists single-channel ABS with three ABS ride modes and a front disc for the NS125 ABS variant. Its February 2025 release announced that ABS version and gave a historical Delhi launch price of ₹1,06,739 ex-showroom. The same product family also includes an LED BT variant, so an NS125 name on a quotation does not by itself prove that ABS is fitted.
In the compared trims, the NS125 is listed with a front disc, rear drum and single-channel ABS. The compared SP125 is listed with a front disc and rear drum but no ABS. Because Honda offers Drum and Disc trims and equipment can vary by market and year, verify the exact brake specification on the vehicle, invoice and registration documents. Do not rely solely on a web image or a salesperson’s shorthand.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesWhat single-channel ABS does and does not do
Single-channel ABS generally controls the wheel to which the system is fitted; it is not equivalent to dual-channel ABS. It can help reduce wheel lock under hard braking on the equipped wheel, but it does not remove the need for appropriate speed, following distance, tyre maintenance and progressive braking. Ask the dealer to identify the ABS indicator and explain the system’s normal self-check before delivery.

Price, trim and the on-road number you should compare
Price information in the available material is not synchronized. Bajaj’s current product page shows a Delhi ex-showroom starting figure and separate LED BT and LED BT ABS variants, but the displayed amount can change with the page’s selector and model updates. Honda’s December 2024 announcement gave launch prices of ₹91,771 for the Drum trim and ₹1,00,284 for the Disc trim in Delhi. Those Honda amounts describe the 2025 launch, not a current October 2026 transaction.
Compare written, same-day quotations for the same city and variant. The useful number is the on-road total, which can include registration, insurance, taxes, handling or documentation charges, accessories and optional finance costs. The cited material does not establish current insurance, service, maintenance or finance prices, so do not treat a showroom headline as your final budget.
- Decide whether you want the NS125 LED BT or LED BT ABS, or the SP125 Drum or Disc trim.
- Request an itemised ex-showroom, registration, insurance and accessory breakdown from each dealer.
- Ask the salesperson to write the model year, colour, brake system, display and charging equipment on the quotation.
- Compare the final on-road totals rather than only the ex-showroom headline.
- Check warranty, service intervals, roadside assistance and cancellation or delivery terms before paying a booking amount.
Which bike should you choose?
Choose the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 when…
- You place more weight on the higher published power figure than on the lightest possible handling.
- You prefer a muscular streetfighter appearance.
- You specifically want the NS125 ABS variant’s single-channel ABS and three ABS ride modes, and that trim is available within budget.
- You value the documented 12-litre tank and are comfortable with the heavier, taller package.
Choose the Honda SP125 when…
- You want the lighter and lower motorcycle for urban manoeuvring or easier footing.
- RoadSync compatibility, a 4.2-inch TFT, navigation and voice assist matter to your daily routine.
- USB Type-C charging and idling stop are more useful to you than the NS125’s stronger published output.
- You are attracted by the higher owner-reported mileage figure but understand that it is not a guarantee.
Wait and test both if…
- You are deciding primarily on comfort, vibration, suspension or clutch feel, because those qualities were not established by the cited specifications.
- You need a firm answer on current price, insurance or running cost in your city.
- You are comparing ABS-equipped and non-ABS motorcycles without confirming the exact variant codes.
- You expect evidence on reliability, resale value or maintenance cost; no verified like-for-like dataset establishes a winner on those issues.
A practical test-ride checklist
- Fit: Sit in your normal riding position, check reach to the bars and place both feet down at a stop.
- Low-speed control: Perform slow U-turns and figure-eights in a safe area. Note steering effort and balance with the engine idling.
- Clutch and gearbox: Check take-up in first gear, second-gear smoothness and whether the fifth gear on the SP125 suits your route.
- Braking: Ask the dealer to identify the ABS hardware and warning lamp. Test braking progressively in a controlled area; do not attempt a panic stop in traffic.
- Visibility and controls: Confirm that the display is readable in sunlight and that switches, USB access and phone-pairing controls are practical with gloves.
- Passenger use: If you regularly carry someone, have the passenger sit on the bike and assess grab points, knee room and rear-seat comfort.
- Route match: Ride over the road surfaces and traffic conditions you actually encounter, subject to dealer and local safety rules.
What the available evidence cannot prove
No controlled head-to-head acceleration, braking or comfort test was established. There is no independently verified fuel-economy test, reliability dataset, maintenance-cost comparison, resale-value analysis or confirmed current marketplace listing in the cited material. Manufacturer feature and output claims describe the specified products; they are not independent rankings. The secondary comparison’s trim selections and owner-reported mileage should be treated accordingly.
