Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteShort answer: choose the Pulsar N250 if your first priority is the larger engine and higher published power and torque. Choose a Pulsar N160 4V S or SS if its electronic package, four ride modes and TFT-focused equipment matter more than outright output. The Delhi ex-showroom prices displayed by Bajaj put the N250 close to the N160 SS, so there is no automatic price-based winner. Compare the exact trim, a current local on-road quote and a test ride before deciding.
“Pulsar N160 4V” is not one single specification. Bajaj’s current range separates the 4-valve N160 S and SS from 2-valve N160 variants. This guide compares the S/SS 4V versions with the current N250 and does not transfer dimensions, equipment or prices from the older 2-valve models.

The decision in one view
| What matters most to you | Variant to investigate first | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Highest published engine capacity, power and torque | Pulsar N250 | Bajaj lists a 249.07 cc engine, 24.5 PS and 21.5 Nm for the N250. |
| Newer 4-valve N160 with a broad electronics package | Pulsar N160 S or SS | Bajaj lists electronic throttle, four ride modes, traction control, crawl technology and a 5-inch TFT with Google Maps mirroring for the S/SS range; confirm which items are fitted to the exact trim. |
| Lowest displayed Delhi ex-showroom entry price among these three | Pulsar N160 S | The displayed price is lower than the N160 SS and N250 figures shown on Bajaj’s pages. |
| Near-parity between price and higher output | Compare N160 SS with N250 | The displayed Delhi ex-showroom figures are close, making equipment-versus-engine-output the central choice. |
These are manufacturer specifications and displayed prices, not a substitute for an independently measured acceleration, mileage, comfort or reliability test. Bajaj’s current N160 range is at its official product page, while the N250 figures come from Bajaj’s N250 specification page.

1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFirst, identify the exact N160 4V trim
The 4V designation refers to the new 165-class N160 engine family represented in the current range by the S and SS trims. Bajaj also lists 2-valve N160 versions. A dealer, comparison site or used-bike advertisement may use “N160” without making that distinction, so ask for the complete model and trim name on the quotation.

N160 S
The S is the lower-priced 4V trim in the displayed Delhi listings. Its equipment must be confirmed against the current quotation because Bajaj states that availability varies by trim. Do not assume that an S shown in a photograph has every feature advertised for the S/SS family.
N160 SS
The SS is the higher-priced 4V trim in the displayed Delhi listings and is the one most likely to be cross-shopped directly with the N250 on price. Confirm the actual display, control and safety equipment on the motorcycle you will receive rather than relying on a generic N160 page or an older review.
How to avoid a 2V/4V mix-up
- Ask the dealer to write “N160 S 4V” or “N160 SS 4V” on the quote, not simply “N160”.
- Match the quoted trim to the current range page and the model name on the booking or invoice.
- Check that the specification sheet describes the 164.9 cc, four-valve engine before comparing output or equipment.
- Ignore a 2V N160 seat-height or kerb-weight figure when assessing the 4V motorcycle; Bajaj’s cited specification lists those figures only for the 2V model.
Engine and published performance
The N250 has the numerical advantage in every headline engine-output field listed by Bajaj. The N160 4V counters with a newer four-valve specification and a more extensive listed electronic package, but its published capacity and peak figures are lower.
| Specification | Pulsar N160 S/SS 4V | Pulsar N250 |
|---|---|---|
| Engine capacity | 164.9 cc | 249.07 cc |
| Valve arrangement | 4-valve | 2-valve |
| Cooling | Oil-cooled | Oil-cooled |
| Maximum power | 18.5 PS at 9,500 rpm | 24.5 PS at 8,750 rpm |
| Maximum torque | 14.4 Nm at 8,000 rpm | 21.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm |
The N160 values are listed for the S/SS 4V range on Bajaj’s current N160 page. The N250 values are from Bajaj’s current N250 specifications. Peak power and torque are rated at different engine speeds, so the table establishes the published advantage but cannot by itself predict how either bike will feel in every gear or traffic condition.
What the displacement gap tells you
A 249.07 cc engine gives the N250 a substantial capacity lead over the 164.9 cc N160 4V. That is the clearest reason to start with the N250 when your buying brief is maximum published output. It does not, on its own, establish fuel consumption, vibration, ride comfort, overtaking performance or long-term durability; Bajaj’s official specifications do not substantiate any of those comparisons.

The N160 acceleration claim
In its 7 August 2026 launch release, Bajaj says the new N160 S/SS reaches 0–60 km/h in 4.5 seconds and describes it as the “fastest and most powerful in segment.” Those are Bajaj Auto’s promotional claims based on the company’s internal testing. They are not an independently verified comparison with the N250, and Bajaj’s N250 material does not provide a directly comparable 0–60 result. Read the number as a manufacturer claim tied to the N160 launch, not as proof that the N160 out-accelerates the larger motorcycle.
Why valve count should not decide the purchase alone
The N160 uses four valves and the N250 uses two, but a valve-count comparison is not a complete measure of engine character. The meaningful, sourced distinction here is that Bajaj publishes more displacement and higher peak output for the N250, while it lists the N160 4V with a newer electronic and display package. A test ride of the exact trims is more informative than assuming one valve layout guarantees a particular response.
Electronics, controls and display equipment
The N160 4V S/SS is the technology-led option according to Bajaj’s listed information. Bajaj lists the following for the S/SS family: electronic throttle, four ride modes, traction control, crawl technology and a 5-inch TFT display with Google Maps mirroring. The manufacturer’s range information also makes clear that equipment varies by trim, so treat the list as a family description until the S or SS build is confirmed.
| Feature area | N160 S/SS 4V | N250 | How to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Throttle system | Electronic throttle listed by Bajaj | Not stated in the supplied N250 specification | Ask the dealer to identify the exact control system on the quoted motorcycle. |
| Ride modes | Four ride modes listed | Ride modes listed, number not stated here | Cycle through the mode menu during the handover explanation. |
| Traction control | Listed for the S/SS package | Not stated on the cited N250 page | Do not infer availability or absence; request the N250 equipment sheet. |
| Crawl technology | Listed for the S/SS package | Not stated | Ask what the feature does and which trim includes it. |
| Instrument display | 5-inch TFT listed | Display with Bluetooth and navigation-related features listed | Pair your phone only after confirming the supported functions and app requirements. |
| Navigation | Google Maps mirroring listed | Navigation-related display features listed | Have the dealer demonstrate map prompts, pairing and controls on the delivered unit. |
The N250 is not an equipment-free alternative: Bajaj’s page lists ride modes, Bluetooth and navigation-related display functions. Bajaj’s cited information does not establish that its package is identical to the N160’s or that a feature not named on the N250 page is unavailable. Compare the checkboxes on the exact S, SS and N250 specification sheets instead of treating a model family as one fixed configuration.
When the N160 electronics justify choosing it
If you actively want selectable modes, traction control and a TFT navigation interface, the N160 S/SS deserves priority in your shortlist. Those features can matter more to a buyer than the N250’s larger engine, particularly when the quoted SS price is close to the N250. The right question is not whether the N160 has more technology in the abstract, but whether the specific trim includes the functions you will use and whether you are comfortable paying for them.

When the N250’s simpler specification may be preferable
A buyer focused on published capacity, power and torque may prefer the N250 even if the N160’s feature list is longer. Bajaj’s cited specifications do not prove that either motorcycle is more reliable or easier to maintain, so avoid treating a shorter or longer equipment list as a durability verdict.

Seat height, weight and physical fit
Published dimensional data must be handled carefully because the available N160 figures refer to the 2V specification, not necessarily the 4V S/SS motorcycles.
| Physical specification | N160 4V S/SS | N250 | Qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seat height | Exact S/SS figure not confirmed in the cited result; 795 mm is listed for the 2V N160 | 795 mm | Do not transfer the 2V number to the 4V without confirmation. |
| Kerb weight | Exact S/SS figure not confirmed; 152 kg is listed for the 2V N160 | 164 kg | The 2V weight is not a valid substitute for a 4V S/SS figure. |
Both motorcycles may appear approachable on paper, but a seat-height number cannot predict your reach to the ground. Seat width, suspension sag, footwear, inseam and the way you balance a stationary motorcycle all change the experience. Sit on and move the exact showroom unit before ordering; do not use the 2V N160 dimensions as a proxy.
A practical fit check
- Put both feet on the pegs and check whether your knees and wrists feel relaxed.
- At a stop, place one foot firmly down and move the motorcycle backward using your legs, not only the handlebar.
- Turn the handlebar fully in each direction and confirm that your knees, hands and mirrors remain clear.
- Ask to sit on the N160 S, SS and N250 separately if all three are available; a brochure comparison cannot reveal differences in seat shape.
Displayed Delhi prices and the real purchase budget
Bajaj’s displayed Delhi ex-showroom prices are:
| Variant | Displayed Delhi ex-showroom price | Price source and date context |
|---|---|---|
| Pulsar N160 S 4V | ₹1,33,511 | Bajaj’s current range listing; the S/SS launch release is dated 7 August 2026. |
| Pulsar N160 SS 4V | ₹1,42,585 | Bajaj’s current range listing and 7 August 2026 launch information. |
| Pulsar N250 | ₹1,42,202 | Bajaj’s current N250 specification page. |
These are Delhi ex-showroom figures displayed by Bajaj, not on-road totals, and they can change. Registration, insurance, handling or other dealer-listed charges, location and current offers determine the amount you actually pay. The apparent difference between the N160 SS and N250 is small on this display, so ask for written, itemised on-road quotations for the same date and city before deciding.
What to request on every quotation
- Exact model and trim, including “4V” for the N160.
- Ex-showroom price and any state-specific tax treatment.
- Registration and road-tax line items.
- Insurance premium, policy type and add-ons.
- Any accessories, extended coverage or handling charge listed separately.
- Finance interest rate, processing fee, down payment and total repayment if you are financing.
- Expected delivery date and the motorcycle’s model-year or manufacturing details.
Do not compare one motorcycle’s ex-showroom figure with another motorcycle’s on-road quote. Use the same city, date, insurance basis and fee assumptions for both.

Which one should you buy?
Choose the N250 when output is the deciding factor
The N250 is the logical first test ride if your non-negotiables are greater engine capacity and the highest published power and torque. Bajaj’s figures give it a clear specification advantage. This recommendation is about the stated numbers, not an unsupported promise of superior mileage, comfort, acceleration in every situation or reliability.
Choose the N160 S when the entry price matters most
The S has the lowest displayed Delhi ex-showroom price among the three variants in this comparison. It can suit a buyer who wants the 4V N160 platform and its listed technology while keeping the initial quoted price below the SS and N250. Verify the exact S equipment before paying a booking amount; family-level feature descriptions are not a substitute for a trim-level checklist.
Choose the N160 SS when equipment is worth a near-N250 budget
The SS is the most direct equipment-versus-output decision. Its displayed Delhi figure sits close to the N250’s, while the N250 brings the larger published engine and output. Select the SS only after confirming that its TFT, control, mode and safety features are genuinely useful to you rather than simply attractive on a specification sheet.
Do not choose on mileage, comfort or reliability claims that are not established
No comparable independent mileage, comfort, ride-quality or reliability test is provided by the cited sources. A salesperson’s estimate or an online comment may describe an individual experience, but it is not a controlled comparison. If those factors dominate your decision, arrange a longer exact-trim test ride, ask owners locally about their usage conditions and treat anecdotal reports as context rather than measured proof.

- Define the priority. Write down whether your first requirement is engine output, electronic equipment, lowest initial quote or a particular physical fit. This prevents a dramatic specification from overriding your actual use.
- Confirm the model names. Use Bajaj’s N160 range page to distinguish S, SS and 2V listings, and use the N250 specification page for the current N250 entry.
- Get matching local quotes. Ask one authorised dealer for itemised on-road prices for N160 S 4V, N160 SS 4V and N250, all issued on the same day.
- Verify the equipment physically. Turn on the display, inspect the mode menu, ask for the traction-control explanation and confirm phone/navigation functions on the exact stock unit.
- Test ride each exact trim. Do not ride an N160 2V and assume it represents the S or SS. If the SS is unavailable, record that the test ride was of a different variant rather than treating it as equivalent.
- Check fit at rest. Repeat the seat, reach and reversing checks for every motorcycle. The N250’s published 795 mm seat height and the N160 2V’s listed dimensions do not establish the 4V S/SS measurements.
- Review ownership documents. Read the warranty, insurance schedule, roadside assistance terms and service requirements supplied with the quotation. For operating controls and maintenance guidance, consult the Pulsar N160 owner manual; obtain the corresponding N250 documentation from the dealer.
- Place the booking only after the final check. Ensure the booking form repeats the exact trim, agreed price components, colour, expected delivery and cancellation terms.
How to use the test ride intelligently
A short ride cannot establish long-term reliability or fuel economy, but it can answer questions that specifications cannot.

- Start with controls. With the motorcycle stationary, identify the mode selector, display controls, clutch, brakes and any traction-control indication. Ask the representative to explain the default mode and how settings are retained.
- Check low-speed balance. Ride at walking pace, make a controlled U-turn where permitted and stop smoothly. Note your confidence and reach rather than trying to infer a universal comfort verdict.
- Use a safe, legal open stretch. Apply throttle progressively through the gears and observe whether the response suits your preference. Do not attempt to reproduce Bajaj’s 0–60 claim on a public road.
- Evaluate the information screen. Pairing, map prompts and menu readability should be checked only when stationary or by the accompanying representative; never operate a phone while moving.
- Repeat on the second motorcycle. Use the same route and conditions for the N160 and N250 so your impressions are at least internally comparable.
Common comparison mistakes
Using a 2V N160 specification for a 4V purchase
The cited 795 mm seat height and 152 kg kerb weight belong to a 2V N160 listing. Repeating them as 4V S/SS specifications can make a physically important comparison look more certain than it is. Require trim-specific confirmation.
Treating the Delhi display price as your final bill
Ex-showroom pricing excludes the local on-road components that can materially change the amount payable. Compare itemised quotes from your own registration location.
Calling the N160 acceleration claim an independent result
The 4.5-second 0–60 km/h figure and “fastest and most powerful in segment” wording come from Bajaj’s 7 August 2026 release and internal testing. They do not constitute a head-to-head test against the N250.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Assuming an unlisted N250 feature is absent
Bajaj’s cited N250 page lists ride modes, Bluetooth and navigation-related display functions, but it does not establish every feature in the N160 list. Ask for the current N250 equipment sheet instead of inferring absence from a short web description.
Picking a winner without riding the exact trim
Published capacity and output cannot tell you which seat, controls or display workflow you will prefer. Ride the motorcycle you intend to buy, or record clearly which trim you actually tested.
Bottom line
The Pulsar N250 is the stronger specification choice for a buyer who prioritises engine size and peak output. The Pulsar N160 4V S/SS is the more compelling alternative when its listed electronics and TFT functionality are central to the purchase. Because the displayed Delhi price for the N160 SS is close to the N250, the final decision should come from an exact-trim equipment check, matched local on-road quotations and a test ride—not from the model names alone.
