Choose the Bajaj Pulsar N160 4V if you need quick refuelling, a conventional manual motorcycle and predictable long-distance flexibility. Choose the HOP Electric OXO if your daily route is local, you can charge reliably at home or work, and lower routine energy use matters more than fuel-stop convenience. There is no universal winner. The sensible choice depends on the exact N160 4V trim and OXO variant, your daily kilometres, electricity access, local service coverage, warranty and the on-road price in your city.
The figures below combine manufacturer-published specifications with a secondary comparison listing. They are not a head-to-head road test, owner range survey or matched lifetime-cost study.

First, identify the exact motorcycles
“Pulsar N160 4V” is not a complete model identity. Bajaj Auto announced the N160 S and N160 SS on 7 August 2026. Both use a new 164.9 cc four-valve, oil-cooled engine rated at 18.5 PS. The announcement quoted Delhi ex-showroom launch prices of ₹1,33,511 for the S and ₹1,42,585 for the SS. Those prices are dated launch figures for Delhi, not guaranteed current transaction prices or prices for every N160 sold under the name.

Bajaj’s current N160 product page also describes four-valve 18.5 PS models with intelligent throttle, four ride modes, responsive traction control, crawl technology and a 5-inch TFT with Google Maps mirroring. The page says equipment varies by model, so do not assume every feature is fitted to every trim.

A separate Bajaj specification page for a dual-channel-ABS, split-seat, USD trim lists a 164.82 cc two-valve engine making 16 PS and 14.65 Nm, plus a five-speed gearbox, 14-litre tank and 152 kg kerb weight. Those numbers describe that named two-valve version; they must not be copied into a comparison of the newly launched four-valve S or SS.
HOP Electric’s OXO is a battery-electric motorcycle. Its official FAQ states a 6.3 kW peak motor and up to 95 km/h top speed. It describes an OXO range of up to 140 km per charge in Eco mode, or up to 150 km for the OXO Pro Package. HOP qualifies range by riding and battery conditions, so these are maximum claims rather than a guaranteed everyday distance.
Before comparing prices or features, write the full variant names on both quotations, the city and the quotation date. This single check prevents most misleading N160-versus-OXO comparisons.

What the Pulsar N160 4V does better
Fast, familiar energy replenishment
A petrol motorcycle can be refuelled in minutes and then used on an unplanned trip without calculating battery reserve. That is valuable for riders who commute between cities, work irregular hours, live in rented accommodation or cannot reserve a dependable 15A outlet. You still need to budget for petrol and routine engine maintenance, but the replenishment network is familiar in most riding areas.

Manual control and the 4V performance claim
Bajaj rates the new 164.9 cc four-valve engine at 18.5 PS and says it reaches 0–60 km/h in 4.5 seconds in its internal testing. Bajaj calls it the fastest and most powerful motorcycle in its segment; that wording is a manufacturer claim, not an independent benchmark. A manual gearbox gives the rider direct control over gear selection and engine braking, which some commuters and enthusiasts prefer.
More technology on the announced S/SS range
The current N160 page advertises selectable ride modes, responsive traction control, crawl technology, intelligent throttle and a 5-inch TFT capable of Google Maps mirroring. Confirm which of these are included in the S you are considering versus the SS, and whether a dealer is quoting an older model year. A feature shown on a range page is not automatically standard on every variant.

Quiet, automatic city travel
The OXO’s electric drive removes clutch and gear changes. For stop-and-go traffic, that can make riding simpler and quieter than a manual petrol motorcycle. The 95 km/h top-speed claim is adequate for many urban routes, but riders who regularly use high-speed intercity roads should assess the legal speed environment and the motorcycle’s reserve at their actual cruising speed.
Home charging instead of fuel stops
HOP says the OXO includes a portable charger for a standard 15A point, with about four hours to reach 80% and five hours to reach 100%. Those times are useful planning estimates, not a promise for every temperature, battery state or electrical installation. Charging overnight is practical only when the rider has a safe, accessible outlet and can leave the bike parked for the required period.
Potentially lower routine energy spending
Electricity can cost less per kilometre than petrol, but the result depends on the local tariff, charging losses, riding mode, tyre pressure, traffic, battery age and petrol price. HOP’s FAQ includes an electricity-cost illustration based on an assumed tariff; it is not a current universal rate. Calculate your own bill rather than copying a promotional example.

Range, refuelling and the daily-distance test
Start with the route you actually ride, not the brochure maximum. Record your normal kilometres for a week, including detours, and add a reserve for weather, traffic and an unexpected trip. If that distance is comfortably below the OXO’s observed usable range and you can charge every night, the electric option can fit. If your route occasionally exceeds the available reserve or you cannot charge at the destination, the Pulsar’s quick refuelling is the safer operational choice.

- Ask the dealer which battery and software version the quoted OXO uses and whether the 140 km or 150 km figure applies.
- Confirm whether the quoted range is Eco mode only and what conditions HOP used. Treat the maximum as a ceiling, not a guaranteed commute.
- Measure the round-trip distance to work, school and common errands. Include a margin for detours rather than planning to finish at zero.
- Identify a secure 15A outlet at home and, if necessary, at work. Confirm who pays for electricity and whether wiring can safely support the charger.
- Ask for the written charging procedure, battery-care limits and roadside assistance process before paying a booking amount.
When petrol flexibility wins
- You make frequent unplanned or intercity trips.
- You park where a private electrical outlet is unavailable or insecure.
- Your daily distance varies widely and public charging is uncertain.
- You need to resume riding immediately after a short stop.
Performance and riding character
The Pulsar’s published 18.5 PS is an engine output figure; the OXO’s 6.3 kW is peak electrical motor power. They cannot be ranked by simply declaring one number larger. Gear ratios, torque delivery, rider mass, battery state, road gradient and traction-control calibration affect acceleration. Bajaj’s 4.5-second 0–60 figure comes from its own internal testing, while the cited OXO material does not give a comparable acceleration time.
The N160 requires clutch and gear coordination. The OXO’s automatic drive is easier in dense traffic but gives a different braking and throttle feel. Neither source establishes a comfort, handling or braking winner. Sit on both motorcycles, check reach to the ground and bars, perform a supervised ride where available, and test the exact trim rather than a display model with different equipment.
Features, safety and ergonomics to verify
Pulsar checklist
- Confirm whether the motorcycle is the 4V S or SS and record its model year.
- Check that the quoted bike has the advertised ride modes, traction control, crawl technology and 5-inch TFT; equipment varies by model.
- Verify ABS configuration, lighting, tyre specification and the warranty booklet on the invoice.
- Test phone pairing and Google Maps mirroring at the dealership if those functions matter to you.
- Ask for the service schedule and consumables list, including oil, filters, chain and brake components.
OXO checklist
- Record the exact OXO battery package and whether the Pro warranty applies.
- Inspect the supplied portable charger, plug, cable length and weather-safe storage requirements.
- Confirm app, display and software functions included on the delivered vehicle.
- Ask how the bike behaves at a low state of charge and what roadside recovery covers.
- Check seat height, pillion space, under-seat storage and waterproofing for your parking conditions.
Service network and warranty can decide the purchase
HOP’s FAQ says OXO service is available only at dealerships that retail OXO and warns that some cities may not have after-sales service. Call the nearest listed outlet before purchase, ask whether it currently accepts service bookings and confirm the distance to the next authorised workshop. A low-energy-cost vehicle is inconvenient if a minor fault requires transporting it to another city.
For the OXO, HOP lists a standard battery warranty of three years or 30,000 km and a Pro battery warranty of four years or 50,000 km. These limits are alternatives—time or distance, whichever comes first—and must be checked against the written warranty for your exact variant, invoice date and exclusions. Obtain the document before making a payment.

Price and ownership-cost method
The only dated N160 figures available here are Bajaj’s Delhi ex-showroom launch prices: ₹1,33,511 for S and ₹1,42,585 for SS on 7 August 2026. They exclude the variables that determine what you actually pay: registration, insurance, taxes, dealer charges, accessories, financing and any local incentive. The OXO’s current price is not established in the cited material. Obtain same-day, same-city, itemised on-road quotations for both.
Build a five-year comparison using your numbers
- Write the on-road purchase price, down payment, interest and total finance cost for each exact variant.
- Estimate annual kilometres from your logbook, then multiply by the fuel or electricity cost you actually pay. For the OXO, include charging losses and any paid charging sessions.
- List scheduled maintenance, tyres, brake parts, chain or belt items, software work and roadside assistance. Use the manufacturer’s schedule rather than a generic estimate.
- Include insurance renewal, registration taxes, accessories and likely battery replacement exposure. A battery warranty is not the same as a guaranteed battery life outside its terms.
- Subtract a realistic resale value only if you have a defensible local estimate. Otherwise label resale as unknown instead of inventing a saving.
Use this simple format: total ownership cost = purchase and finance + energy + maintenance and consumables + insurance and taxes − resale proceeds. Keep every assumption—petrol price, tariff, kilometres, tariff slab, charging efficiency and ownership years—visible so the result can be updated.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Mixing two-valve and four-valve N160 numbers
The 16 PS, 14.65 Nm, 14-litre and 152 kg figures belong to a separately listed two-valve USD trim. They are not specifications for the 2026 four-valve S/SS launch. Put the variant name beside every number in your notes.
Treating maximum range as a commute guarantee
HOP’s 140 km and 150 km figures are Eco-mode maximum claims that vary with conditions. Plan with a reserve and verify the delivered model’s battery and software.

Comparing a listing’s mileage with an electric maximum
BikeWale’s comparison entry lists 51.6 km/l ARAI mileage for the Pulsar. That is a third-party listing whose trim and test basis should be verified; it is not a matched real-world result against HOP’s claimed range.
Using launch prices as today’s on-road price
The N160 S/SS numbers are Delhi ex-showroom launch prices dated 7 August 2026. Registration, insurance and dealer charges can change the total, and the OXO quote may differ by city and variant.
Ignoring the service map
Ask an OXO dealer to identify the workshop that will handle your bike after delivery. If there is no practical local option, the paper energy saving may not compensate for downtime and transport.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsA short showroom worksheet
Take this list to both dealers and write the answers down:
- Exact model, variant, model year and battery or engine specification.
- Ex-showroom, registration, insurance, accessories and final on-road total in the same city.
- Cash price, finance rate, processing fee, down payment and total repayment.
- Published range or mileage basis, test conditions and recommended reserve.
- Charging time, outlet requirements, charger replacement cost and roadside support.
- Warranty duration, kilometre limit, exclusions and claim location.
- Nearest authorised service point, booking lead time and scheduled-maintenance cost.
- ABS, traction-control, ride-mode, display and navigation equipment on the actual stock unit.
- Seat reach, pillion comfort, luggage practicality and a supervised test ride.
Verdict: choose by operating fit, not by a headline number
The N160 4V is the more adaptable choice when refuelling speed, manual performance and unrestricted trip planning outweigh fuel expense. The OXO is the more logical choice for a rider with a repeatable urban route, dependable overnight charging and a nearby authorised service outlet who values automatic, quiet running and the possibility of lower energy cost.
Before signing, compare same-day on-road quotes, confirm the exact trim, and read the written warranty. If any of those three items is unclear, the comparison is not ready to decide.
