Choose the Bajaj Pulsar N125 for a lighter, city-focused motorcycle at the lower published price. Choose the Pulsar NS125 if you want its 12-litre tank, perimeter-frame NS design, Bluetooth instrumentation, or the availability of a single-channel ABS variant. Both are listed by Bajaj at 12 PS, so the available specifications do not establish a meaningful power winner. Your final decision should follow an exact-variant check, a local on-road quotation and a test ride.
At a glance: N125 or NS125?
The two motorcycles share a 125cc-class engine output, but they are positioned differently. The N125 emphasizes manageable dimensions, a 125 kg kerb weight and city-oriented equipment. The NS125 brings the larger fuel tank, the sportier NS chassis theme and an ABS-equipped variant. The following figures come from Bajaj Auto’s current product pages; prices shown are Delhi ex-showroom figures displayed on 13 October 2026, not on-road quotations.

|---|---|---|---|
| Engine displacement | 124.58cc on the specification page; marketing copy also says 124.59cc | 124.45cc | Both are 125cc-class motorcycles; the small displacement difference is not a buying advantage. |
| Peak power | 12 PS at 8,500 rpm | 12 PS at 8,500 rpm | Published power is identical. |
| Peak torque | 11 Nm; the Bajaj page does not show a peak-rpm figure | 11 Nm at 7,000 rpm | Autocar lists the N125 torque peak at 6,000 rpm, but that specification difference is not proof of quicker acceleration or better rideability. |
| Fuel tank | 9.5 litres | 12 litres | The NS125 can carry more fuel between refuelling stops; capacity alone does not establish range. |
| Brakes and safety | 240mm front disc and 130mm rear drum listed | Single-channel ABS variant available; standard equipment depends on the variant | Read the written quote for the exact brake and ABS specification. |
| Published dimensions and weight | 125kg kerb weight, 1,295mm wheelbase, 198mm ground clearance | Official page highlights a perimeter frame and monoshock; comparable kerb-weight and wheelbase figures are not stated there | The N125’s published numbers support an easier city brief, while the NS125’s chassis identity is sportier on paper. |
| Delhi ex-showroom starting figure | ₹92,270, displayed 13 October 2026 | ₹99,622, displayed 13 October 2026 | These are starting ex-showroom figures. Registration, insurance, taxes and local charges change the on-road total. |

N125: compact, lighter-feeling city equipment
Bajaj lists the N125 at 125kg kerb weight, with a 1,295mm wheelbase and 198mm ground clearance. Those are useful reference points for filtering through traffic, parking in tight spaces and dealing with common urban speed breakers. They describe the motorcycle on paper, not how every rider will find its seat, steering or suspension. A shorter or taller rider can experience the same dimensions differently, which is why a test ride remains important.

The N125 specification page lists a 240mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum. It is therefore not correct to assume that every N125 has the same equipment as an NS125 ABS version. Confirm whether the quoted N125 trim has the wheel, tyre and lighting package you expect.
NS125: the sportier NS family route
The NS125 uses the NS styling and chassis vocabulary, including a perimeter frame and monoshock highlighted on Bajaj’s page. Styling preference is subjective, but the frame and suspension layout are relevant if the motorcycle’s appearance and riding posture are a major part of your purchase decision. The official page also lists Bluetooth-enabled digital instrumentation and two named variants: NS125 LED BT and NS125 LED BT ABS.
Do not treat the NS name as evidence of a measured performance advantage over the N125. Both official pages list 12 PS, and no independent acceleration test in the available material establishes a winner.

Engine output: identical headline power, no proven acceleration winner
Bajaj lists the N125’s 124.58cc engine at 12 PS at 8,500 rpm and 11 Nm. The same page’s feature copy refers to 124.59cc, a minor internal presentation difference; use “about 125cc” when the exact page version is not in front of you. Bajaj lists the NS125 at 124.45cc, 12 PS at 8,500 rpm and 11 Nm at 7,000 rpm.
Autocar India’s comparison page lists the N125’s peak torque at 6,000 rpm, while Bajaj states 7,000 rpm for the NS125. Those published rpm points can help you understand how specifications are reported, but they do not demonstrate that one motorcycle accelerates faster, pulls better with a passenger or feels smoother in traffic. Gear ratios, engine calibration, rider load, road gradient and conditions would all affect those outcomes. The Autocar India comparison is a secondary specification reference and may reflect a particular model year or variant.
For a buyer asking “Which is the best 125cc Pulsar?”, the defensible engine answer is therefore simple: neither has a published power advantage. Select based on equipment, dimensions, tank size, safety variant and the way each feels during your own ride.

Fuel capacity and practical refuelling
The N125 has a stated 9.5-litre tank; the NS125 has a 12-litre tank. That 2.5-litre difference is meaningful for riders who travel between cities, have limited access to fuel stations or prefer fewer stops. It does not provide a guaranteed range comparison because neither the official pages nor the other supplied source establishes like-for-like real-world fuel economy.
Do not convert tank capacity directly into kilometres. Actual distance per tank varies with traffic, speed, payload, tyre pressure, maintenance and reserve-fuel practice. If range is decisive, record your own fuel use over several refills after the break-in period rather than relying on an assumed mileage figure.
Brakes, ABS and equipment differences
N125 braking specification
Bajaj lists a 240mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum for the N125. The page also shows equipment varying by trim. The LED Disc BT variant adds Bluetooth, a wider rear tyre and an integrated starter generator, while the LED headlamp is available only on a selected variant. Those features are not a blanket description of every N125 sold under the name.

NS125 ABS availability
Bajaj’s current NS125 page lists an NS125 LED BT ABS variant alongside the NS125 LED BT and advertises single-channel ABS with three ABS ride modes. The manufacturer announced that ABS variant on 14 February 2025 at a historical launch price of ₹1,06,739 ex-showroom Delhi. That launch amount is not today’s quote; use it only as historical context and ask a dealer for current availability and pricing. The announcement is documented in Bajaj’s NS125 ABS launch release.
Single-channel ABS normally refers to anti-lock control on one wheel, but the practical buying point here is variant identification: ask the dealer to write “NS125 LED BT ABS” and the braking equipment on the quotation. If a showroom advertises an NS125 without naming the variant, do not assume it includes ABS.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFeatures and instrument systems
The NS125’s current feature page highlights Bluetooth-enabled digital instrumentation. The N125’s LED Disc BT trim also adds Bluetooth, so connectivity is not an automatic NS-only feature. Compare the exact trim’s display, phone-pairing functions, lighting and switchgear rather than relying on the model prefix.

Lighting is another place where N125 equipment changes by version: Bajaj says the LED headlamp is available only on a selected N125 variant. Have the salesperson demonstrate the actual motorcycle proposed for delivery, and match its headlamp, rear tyre and starter-generator equipment to the written quote.

On these displayed starting figures, the NS125 begins ₹7,352 above the N125 before registration, insurance and other on-road charges. That gap is not a final ownership cost: different variants, insurance choices, tax treatment and dealer fees can alter it. Request itemized on-road quotes from the same city for the exact trims you are comparing. The prices and specifications are published on Bajaj’s N125 page and NS125 page.
Which one should you buy?
Pick the N125 when your priority is urban ease and initial price
- You spend most of your time in congested city traffic and value the published 125kg kerb weight, 1,295mm wheelbase and 198mm ground clearance.
- You want the lower displayed Delhi ex-showroom starting figure, subject to a current dealer quote.
- You prefer a 9.5-litre tank and do not need the NS125’s extra capacity.
- You are comfortable with the N125’s listed front-disc/rear-drum setup and have verified the equipment of the particular trim.
- You want Bluetooth or a wider rear tyre but are willing to select the LED Disc BT variant rather than assuming every N125 includes those items.
Pick the NS125 when tank size, styling or ABS matters more
- You want the NS family appearance, perimeter-frame presentation and monoshock highlighted by Bajaj.
- You regularly ride farther between fuel stations and value the stated 12-litre tank.
- You specifically want the NS125 LED BT ABS variant and have confirmed that it is available in your location.
- You want Bluetooth instrumentation as part of the NS125’s listed equipment.
- You accept that the higher starting price and variant cost must be checked against a local on-road quote.
When neither specification sheet decides it
If both motorcycles fit your budget and you do not have a strong tank, ABS or styling preference, the specification sheets reach a tie on headline engine output. Arrange back-to-back rides on the same roads, with the same rider and similar fuel levels. Pay attention to reach to the ground, clutch effort, low-speed steering, mirror position, brake feel, suspension over your usual bumps and whether the foot-peg and handlebar relationship remains comfortable after 20 to 30 minutes. Those observations are personal fit information, not claims that one model is universally superior.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →A five-step buying process that avoids variant mistakes
- Write down your non-negotiables. Decide whether you require ABS, Bluetooth, LED lighting, the 12-litre tank or the lowest initial price before visiting a dealer.
- Identify the full variant name. For the N125, ask whether the quote is for the LED Disc BT trim and whether it includes the selected LED headlamp and wider rear tyre. For the NS125, ask whether it is NS125 LED BT or NS125 LED BT ABS.
- Check the physical motorcycle. Match the displayed bike’s headlamp, rear tyre, instrument cluster, brake hardware and switches to the written variant description. Photograph the specification sheet if the dealer permits.
- Obtain comparable on-road quotes. Ask two dealers in your city to itemize ex-showroom price, registration, insurance, taxes, handling or documentation charges and any optional accessories. Do not compare one model’s ex-showroom figure with another model’s on-road total.
- Test ride both before paying a booking amount. Use a route containing stop-start traffic, a rough patch, a speed breaker and an open stretch. Confirm that the exact trim you ride is the trim you are ordering.
What the available specifications cannot tell you
No reliable like-for-like evidence here establishes real-world mileage, long-term reliability, maintenance cost, comfort superiority or instrumented acceleration. Official power, torque, dimensions and tank figures are useful for narrowing the choice, but they are not substitutes for measured ownership data or your own ride.
Comfort is especially sensitive to rider height, inseam, passenger use, road quality and riding posture. Handling impressions also depend on tyre pressure, tyre brand, suspension setup and load. A dealer test ride cannot predict every condition, but it can expose an obvious mismatch in reach, controls or posture before purchase.
Common comparison mistakes and how to avoid them
- Assuming 12 PS means identical performance. Power is the same on paper; acceleration and roll-on response remain unproven without controlled testing.
- Calling the NS125 an ABS motorcycle without naming the trim. Confirm the LED BT ABS variant and its availability in your city.
- Treating the 2025 ABS launch price as current. It was a historical launch figure, not a 2026 retail promise.
- Using tank capacity as a mileage claim. The NS125 carries more fuel, but no verified economy figure is established here.
- Ignoring the N125’s trim differences. Bluetooth, the wider rear tyre, integrated starter generator and LED headlamp are tied to specified variants, not automatically every N125.
- Comparing Delhi ex-showroom prices with another city’s on-road quote. Ask for same-city, same-date, same-variant totals.
- Over-reading the displacement decimal. The N125 page itself shows 124.58cc in specifications and 124.59cc in marketing copy; both describe a roughly 125cc engine.
Final buying verdict
The N125 is the more rational starting point for a predominantly urban rider who values a lighter published package and lower displayed entry price. The NS125 earns its premium when its 12-litre tank, NS chassis styling, Bluetooth equipment or single-channel ABS variant directly answers your priorities. Because both are rated at 12 PS and the available material does not prove differences in mileage, comfort or acceleration, the best choice is the exact variant you can verify, ride and price locally.
