There is no universal winner. The Bajaj Pulsar N125 is the value-and-output choice on the published figures available for October 2026: it has a lower listed price and a higher quoted peak-power figure. The Honda CB125 Hornet costs more in the cited listings but adds equipment such as USD front forks, all-LED lighting, USB-C charging and a side-stand engine cut-off.
Choose only after comparing the exact variant, your city’s on-road quote and your own test-ride comfort. The prices below come from different locations and dates, and neither bike has a proven real-world fuel-economy advantage from a controlled head-to-head test.

What this comparison actually establishes
The Pulsar N125 and CB125 Hornet are close in engine size, so the decision is less about a major capacity difference and more about price, published output, equipment and fit. Bajaj lists 124.58 cc for the Pulsar, while Autocar India lists 123.94 cc for the Hornet. Those figures put both motorcycles in the same 125cc commuter-performance class, but they do not make the bikes identical in gearing, calibration or riding feel.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →On paper, Bajaj quotes 12 PS at 8,500 rpm for the N125. Autocar lists the Hornet at 10.99 bhp at 7,500 rpm. These are published peak figures from different sources and use different power units; they are not independent acceleration measurements. The price evidence also needs context: the current Bajaj product page shows an ex-showroom Delhi starting price, while the Honda launch price was a dated introductory figure for Gurugram and the October 2026 comparison uses third-party base-price listings.

Price: the biggest practical difference
Pulsar N125 price evidence
Bajaj’s current product page shows a starting price of ₹92,270 ex-showroom Delhi. That is a manufacturer-listed price for a particular location and can change with revisions, taxes, dealer charges or variant updates. The October 2026 ZigWheels listing shows ₹93,456 for the Pulsar N125, illustrating why a buyer should treat online figures as a starting point rather than a final invoice.
Hornet price evidence
Honda’s launch announcement dated 1 August 2025 stated that the CB125 Hornet was introduced at a limited-period price of ₹112,000 ex-showroom Gurugram. Honda’s wording makes that a historical launch offer, not a guaranteed 2026 quote. ZigWheels’ comparison updated 12 October 2026 lists the Hornet at ₹1.15 lakh, but that remains a third-party base listing rather than a nationwide on-road price. The original announcement is available on Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India’s website.

What your budget must include
Ex-showroom price excludes the costs that determine what you actually pay. Ask the dealer for a written, itemised quote for:
- State registration and road tax for your address.
- Mandatory and optional insurance covers, with the insurer and policy duration identified.
- Handling, logistics or accessory charges, if any, and whether they are optional.
- Finance interest, processing fees, down payment and total repayment if you are borrowing.
- Any current manufacturer or dealer discount, including its expiry date and eligibility conditions.
Compare both motorcycles on the same basis: same date, same city, same insurance assumptions and equivalent variants. A lower ex-showroom figure can disappear when a higher-spec variant, insurance package or financing structure is selected.
Engine output and what it means on the road
Pulsar N125: higher listed peak power
Bajaj lists 12 PS at 8,500 rpm for the N125. Autocar’s table presents the Pulsar as 12 hp at 8,500 rpm and 11 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Because PS and hp are not identical units and the values come from separate publisher presentations, quote them as published rather than converting them into a claimed acceleration advantage.

- Wide Compatibility: The coaster has a diameter of 3.15 inches and a height of 1.18 inches, which is widely used in most vehicles, such as SUV, sedan, MPV, etc., as long as the size fits your car cup holder.
- Protection Function: Our car cup holder coaster has a carry handle design and a stand-up ring edge on its edge to effectively prevent food crumbs, drinks and water from leaking out and preventing the car cup holder from getting dirty.Meanwhile,Thickened design effectively prevents the cup holder from being scratched by the cup when driving on bumpy roads and eliminates the annoying thumping sound, making your journey more enjoyable.
- Easy to Use and Clean: With embedded installation, you just need to put it flat on the car cupholder. It is also very quick to remove, there is a small bump on the coaster, pinch it and you can easily remove the coaster. It is very easy to clean, rinse with water or wipe with a wet towel (be careful not to clean with sharp tools).
- 100% Satisfaction: Our products have quality assurance, if you have questions or are not satisfied after receiving the product, don't worry, please contact us as soon as possible, we provide after-sales service.
The useful buying implication is that the Pulsar has the stronger headline output in the supplied specifications. That may matter to a rider who regularly carries a passenger, rides on faster urban roads or simply prefers a more performance-oriented character. It still does not establish a faster 0–60 km/h time, superior overtaking or a higher top speed; no controlled comparison for those outcomes is cited here.

CB125 Hornet: similar capacity, different quoted figures
Autocar lists 123.94 cc, 10.99 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 11.2 Nm at 6,000 rpm for the Hornet. The torque figure is marginally higher in that table, but the two motorcycles’ gearing, kerb weight, throttle response and rider conditions are not supplied as a controlled test set. Do not select the Hornet or reject it solely from the torque number.
How to evaluate the difference yourself
During a supervised test ride, assess the way each engine responds rather than chasing a brochure winner. Use the same route and, where permitted, the same passenger load. Check:
- Pull-away smoothness in first and second gear.
- Engine response at the speeds you use for commuting.
- Vibration through the grips, seat and foot controls at sustained urban speed.
- Ease of holding a steady pace without frequent gear changes.
- Clutch effort and heat management in stop-and-go traffic.
Keep the road, traffic and rider variables similar. A short dealer loop cannot prove long-term reliability or fuel economy, but it can reveal whether the power delivery suits your daily route.
Equipment: where the Hornet justifies its premium
| Feature area | Pulsar N125 | CB125 Hornet |

| Front suspension | Specific fork type is not stated in the cited Bajaj material | USD (upside-down) front forks listed by Honda |
| Lighting | LED headlamp available only on a select variant, according to Bajaj’s product page | All-LED lighting listed by Honda |

| Braking hardware | 240 mm front disc and 130 mm rear drum | The cited Honda material does not specify disc and drum dimensions |
| Tyres | Top-variant sizes listed as 80/100-17 front and 110/80-17 rear | Tyre sizes are not stated in the cited material |
| Safety-related equipment | Exact safety equipment varies by variant; verify the selected motorcycle | Side-stand engine cut-off listed by Honda |
The N125 equipment details come from Bajaj Auto’s product page. Honda’s listed features and warranty are on the CB125 Hornet product page.
Charging and lighting
Both motorcycles address everyday phone use, but the connector differs. Bajaj lists a USB charging port as standard, while Honda lists USB-C. Check the physical port on the exact display bike and confirm whether your cable fits without an adapter. Lighting is also variant-sensitive on the Pulsar: its LED headlamp is not listed as universal across the range. Honda’s page lists all-LED lighting for the Hornet, subject to the exact marketed specification.

Fork and stand features
USD forks are a clear hardware distinction on the Hornet’s equipment list. They may appeal to buyers who value the appearance, stiffness characteristics or feature count, but the listing alone does not prove a comfort or handling advantage on every road. The Hornet’s side-stand engine cut-off is a useful interlock; learn how it operates before assuming the bike has started when the stand is down.
Brakes, tyres and low-speed control
Bajaj specifies a 240 mm front disc and 130 mm rear drum for the N125. Its top-variant tyre sizes are 80/100-17 at the front and 110/80-17 at the rear. Because those tyre dimensions are identified for the top variant, do not assume a lower variant has identical rubber. Verify the sidewall markings and wheel equipment on the invoice model.
The supplied Honda material does not establish rotor dimensions or a directly comparable braking specification. On a test ride, check initial bite, lever progression, rear-brake feel and stability during a gentle straight-line stop. Perform emergency-braking practice only in a controlled, open area and follow the dealer’s safety instructions.
Low-speed balance is often more important than a brochure feature for a daily commuter. Ride both bikes through a tight turn, a speed hump and a stop-start section. Make sure you can place both feet confidently when manoeuvring, turn the handlebar without wrist strain and reach the controls while wearing the gloves you actually use.
Comfort and practicality: no published winner
No cited source establishes a direct comfort winner between these motorcycles. Seat cushioning, handlebar reach, peg position, suspension setup and rider height interact, so an online specification cannot replace a test ride. Spend enough time on each motorcycle to notice pressure points rather than choosing after a one-minute showroom sit.
Rider checks
- Sit in your normal riding posture and check whether your wrists remain neutral.
- Turn the bars fully in both directions; your knees and hands should remain clear of the controls.
- Place both feet down and then move one foot to the ground as you would at a traffic light.
- Ask whether the seat lets you slide into a comfortable position without pushing you toward the tank.
- Check mirror adjustment, switch reach and instrument visibility in daylight.
Pillion and load checks
If you regularly carry a passenger, take the intended passenger on the approved test route where the dealer permits it. Check seat length, grab-rail position, footrest comfort and how easily you can balance the motorcycle at walking speed. Do not infer carrying ability from peak power alone. Confirm the manufacturer’s load limits and accessory compatibility with the dealer.

Fuel economy and running costs: what is not proven
The available mileage figures are listings or claims, not results from a comparable controlled test. Traffic, rider weight, tyre pressure, service condition, fuel quality, route elevation and average speed can change consumption substantially. Therefore, this evidence cannot support a real-world mileage winner between the N125 and CB125 Hornet.
For a meaningful ownership estimate, record your own fuel use after delivery. Fill the tank consistently, reset the trip meter, keep a log of litres added and kilometres travelled, and calculate kilometres per litre over several tanks. Compare only after both motorcycles have completed their running-in requirements and are serviced according to their manuals.
Before booking, ask each manufacturer-authorised outlet for the service schedule, consumables, labour rates, parts availability and roadside-support terms applicable to your city. Honda’s current product page states a warranty of three years or 42,000 km, whichever comes first; confirm exclusions, transfer rules and any required maintenance conditions in the written warranty. The cited material does not state a corresponding Pulsar warranty, so obtain Bajaj’s current terms directly rather than assuming they match.

How to make the purchase decision step by step
- Choose the exact variant first. Write down the trim, colour and model specification you are comparing. This prevents a standard USB port or a select-variant LED headlamp from being treated as universal equipment.
- Request matching written quotations. Ask a Bajaj and a Honda outlet in the same city for ex-showroom, registration, insurance, accessories, handling charges, finance fees and final on-road totals as separate lines.
- Check the date and location on every price. A Delhi manufacturer price, a Gurugram launch offer and an October 2026 third-party listing are not interchangeable. Ask which price is actually available for your registration address today.
- Inspect the motorcycle physically. Confirm the charging connector, lighting, fork, tyre sizes, brake hardware, side-stand cut-off and instrument functions on the vehicle identified by the quotation.
- Take comparable test rides. Use similar traffic and route conditions. Test starting, low-speed turns, braking, clutch effort, mirror visibility, posture and passenger accommodation.
- Read the warranty and service documents. Note duration, kilometre limit, exclusions, service intervals and the nearest authorised workshop. Keep the written terms with the invoice.
- Budget for protective gear. Select a properly certified helmet that fits securely, plus gloves, abrasion-resistant clothing and suitable footwear. A motorcycle’s equipment list does not replace rider protection.
- Buy only when the total meets your budget. If the Hornet’s additional equipment requires a higher loan or compromises insurance and protective gear, the lower-cost Pulsar may be the more responsible choice. If the Pulsar’s base price is attractive but the required variant removes the features you want, recalculate before signing.
Common comparison mistakes and how to avoid them
Calling a launch offer a current price
Honda’s ₹112,000 figure was a limited-period introductory ex-showroom Gurugram price announced on 1 August 2025. Treat it as launch context. Ask the dealer for the current written price instead of carrying that number into a 2026 purchase decision.
Mixing variants
A top-variant Pulsar tyre size and a select-variant LED headlamp cannot be used to describe every N125. Match the variant code, equipment list and vehicle identification details on your quote.

Declaring a mileage champion from unlike claims
Listed or claimed mileage values do not control for rider, route or traffic. Track your own fuel use over multiple tanks after running-in if economy is central to your choice.
Skipping the test ride
Neither a price table nor a feature list can tell you whether the seat, reach, balance and clutch suit your body. A short, comparable ride is essential before paying a booking amount.
Ignoring local support
Warranty coverage is useful only when you can access authorised service and parts. Check workshop distance, booking lead time, routine service pricing and parts availability in your area for both brands.

Final buying guidance
Start with the Pulsar N125 if your priority is a lower published entry price and the stronger quoted peak-power figure, provided its ergonomics and chosen variant satisfy you. Start with the CB125 Hornet if you are willing to pay more for its listed USD forks, all-LED lighting, USB-C port, side-stand cut-off and published warranty term.
The defensible choice is the motorcycle that wins your three-way check: a current local on-road quote, the exact equipment you will receive and a comfortable test ride. Recheck prices and stock immediately before purchase because manufacturer prices, dealer offers and variant availability can change.
