1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteShort answer: The Bajaj Pulsar N125 is the better choice if you want substantially higher stated performance and a confirmed five-speed gearbox. The Hero Splendor+ Flex Fuel is the more distinctive choice if E20-to-E85 ethanol compatibility is useful on your routes and the model is available from a local dealer. These are not identical versions or priorities, and the available specifications do not establish a real-world mileage winner.
Which is better: Pulsar N125 or Splendor+ Flex Fuel?
There is no single winner because the two motorcycles solve different problems. Bajaj positions the Pulsar N125 as a sporty 125cc commuter with 12 PS, 11 Nm and a five-speed transmission. Hero’s June 2026 Splendor+ Flex Fuel announcement instead centers on fuel flexibility: the motorcycle is designed for ethanol blends from E20 through E85. On the published figures, the Pulsar has the clear output advantage. On fuel compatibility, the Hero has the clear advantage.

Your decision should therefore start with the question that matters most in your area. If you regularly need stronger acceleration, carry a passenger, or prefer more engine reserve on faster roads, the N125 is the logical starting point. If high-ethanol fuel is genuinely sold near your home and work, and reducing dependence on conventional petrol matters more than outright performance, the Flex Fuel Splendor+ deserves consideration.

First, identify the exact Hero motorcycle
Splendor+ Flex Fuel is not the ordinary Splendor+ petrol model
Hero MotoCorp announced the Flex Fuel-ready Splendor+ in June 2026. It is a separate version with revised engine-control and fuel-system components intended to handle ethanol blends from E20 to E85. The announcement gives its E85 output as 6.3 kW at 8,000 rpm and 8.3 Nm at 6,000 rpm.
That motorcycle should not be confused with the standard Splendor+ shown on Hero’s general product page. The standard page describes a 97.2cc petrol model producing 5.9 kW and 8.05 Nm and advertises 70 kmpl with E20. Those figures belong to the standard product-page variant; they are not a mileage claim or power specification for the Flex Fuel version.
Why the distinction changes the comparison
Using the standard Splendor+’s 70 kmpl statement to predict Flex Fuel economy would mix two different products. Likewise, substituting the regular model’s weight, equipment or gearbox for the Flex Fuel motorcycle would create a specification that Hero’s June release does not confirm. Treat the Flex Fuel motorcycle as its own model until a dealer provides the retail specification for your region.

The numbers are not a laboratory comparison. Bajaj’s output is presented for its petrol N125, while Hero’s stated output is specifically given with E85. The Hero release does not state a transmission, kerb weight or a complete retail equipment list, so those cells should remain unconfirmed until you inspect the exact motorcycle.
Performance: the N125 has the stronger published case
Power and torque
Bajaj lists 12 PS at 8,500 rpm and 11 Nm at 6,000 rpm for the Pulsar N125. Hero lists 6.3 kW at 8,000 rpm and 8.3 Nm at 6,000 rpm for the Flex Fuel Splendor+ when running E85. Even without claiming a road-test result, the published figures show the N125 has more stated output and torque.

That difference matters when you merge into faster traffic, climb with a passenger, or want quicker response after slowing for a junction. It does not guarantee a particular 0–60 km/h time, because acceleration also depends on gearing, weight, tyre condition, rider load, fuel, road gradient and calibration. No directly comparable independent test for these exact variants is established here.
What the five-speed gearbox changes
The N125’s five-speed gearbox gives Bajaj a clearly documented extra ratio for managing engine speed across urban and open-road riding. You can select a lower gear for response or a higher gear for a steadier cruise, subject to the motorcycle’s actual speed and load. The Hero Flex Fuel release does not specify its transmission, so do not assume that it matches the N125 or even infer the number of ratios from the standard Splendor+ page.
Recommended Free Tools
Before buying the Hero, ask the dealer to show the owner’s manual or official retail specification for the Flex Fuel version. Confirm the gear pattern, clutch operation and whether the motorcycle supplied to you is the announced Flex Fuel model rather than a regular petrol Splendor+.
Fuel compatibility: where the Hero has a unique advantage
E20 through E85 is a capability, not a guarantee of local supply
Hero says the Flex Fuel Splendor+ can use ethanol blends from E20 to E85. That gives it a much wider stated blend range than a motorcycle sold only for ordinary petrol operation. The revised ECU and fuel-system components are part of the Flex Fuel specification, which is why the regular Splendor+ should not be treated as an equivalent.
Compatibility does not mean every petrol station carries E85, or that E85 will cost less per kilometre. Ethanol contains less energy per litre than petrol, and actual range depends on blend, riding conditions, maintenance and load. The available manufacturer material does not provide a controlled, model-to-model economy result, so do not promise a mileage saving from the Flex Fuel badge alone.

Check the route you actually ride
Ask three practical questions before choosing the Hero:
- Which ethanol blends are sold at stations along your daily route?
- Can you still refuel conveniently when travelling outside your home area?
- Does the dealer or owner’s manual specify any storage, servicing or blend-selection procedure for the motorcycle?
If the answer to the first question is “only E20,” the Flex Fuel hardware may still provide future flexibility, but its immediate benefit is smaller. If E85 is unavailable, you cannot use that capability on a routine basis regardless of the brochure specification.
Equipment and hardware you can verify
Pulsar N125 equipment listed by Bajaj
- 124.59cc engine with fuel injection listed by Bajaj.
- Five-speed transmission.
- 240mm front disc brake and rear drum brake.
- 198mm ground clearance.
- 125kg kerb weight.
- Bluetooth-connected digital instrumentation on selected variants, not necessarily every N125 version.
Because equipment can vary by trim, match the dealer’s quote to the exact variant name. A feature shown in a product overview may not be fitted to the least expensive version.
Flex Fuel Splendor+ equipment identified by Hero
- Revised ECU and fuel-system components for ethanol blends from E20 to E85.
- i3S idle-stop-start system.
- Side-stand engine cut-off.
- Tubeless tyres.
Hero’s June release does not provide a matching list of brake dimensions, kerb weight, ground clearance or transmission details. Have the dealer identify those items on the physical motorcycle and invoice rather than borrowing figures from the standard Splendor+ page.
Price and availability: compare dates before comparing rupees
What the published price references mean
| Motorcycle | Price reference | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Pulsar N125 | ₹92,270 Delhi ex-showroom starting figure on Bajaj’s current product page, accessed in 2026 | The same page contains differing variant and FAQ amounts, so confirm the exact trim and current quote |
| Pulsar N125 | ₹94,707 Delhi ex-showroom launch price announced in 2024 | Historical launch pricing from 21 October 2024, not a current promise |
| Splendor+ Flex Fuel | ₹82,710 Delhi ex-showroom announced in June 2026 | Announcement price; confirm whether your local retail unit and taxes produce the same figure |
Ex-showroom price excludes the complete on-road cost. Registration, road tax, insurance, handling or other dealer-listed charges can change the final amount by location and buyer profile. A lower announcement figure is not automatically the cheaper purchase once those items are added.

Availability can decide the purchase
Hero said the Flex Fuel introduction would begin in Delhi and select regions of Maharashtra in July 2026, with wider rollout afterward. That is a phased plan, not proof that every Hero outlet has stock. Call an authorized dealer and ask for the exact Flex Fuel model code, fuel-system specification and delivery date.
Bajaj’s current N125 page includes dealer and test-ride inquiry paths. Use them to obtain a written quote and to ride the actual trim you intend to buy. A test ride also lets you evaluate reach to the controls, clutch effort, vibration and passenger space—areas not settled by the headline power figures.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Real-world mileage: what you can and cannot conclude
There is no directly comparable, independently controlled mileage test for the Pulsar N125 and Splendor+ Flex Fuel in the material available for this comparison. Do not label either motorcycle the mileage winner.
Hero’s general Splendor+ page advertises 70 kmpl with E20 for the standard 97.2cc petrol model. That is a manufacturer statement for that separate variant, not measured Flex Fuel economy. It also cannot be used as a benchmark against the N125 because the engines, calibration, model versions and test conditions differ.
For your own estimate, record the odometer and litres added over several full-tank refuels, keep the same route and tyre pressures, and record which blend you used. Treat your result as personal use data, not a universal test. Compare fuel price per litre and kilometres per litre together; a higher ethanol blend can alter both consumption and price.

Who should buy the Pulsar N125?
- You prioritize acceleration and engine reserve. Its stated 12 PS and 11 Nm are materially above the Flex Fuel Splendor+ figures published for E85.
- You want a documented five-speed gearbox. Bajaj specifies one, while Hero’s Flex Fuel announcement leaves the transmission unconfirmed.
- You ride on faster roads or frequently carry a passenger. The extra published output gives you a stronger starting case, although a test ride remains important.
- You value the listed chassis and equipment details. Bajaj publishes the 240mm front disc, 198mm ground clearance, 125kg kerb weight and selected-variant Bluetooth instrumentation.
- You can use ordinary petrol conveniently. The N125 is not being selected for E85 flexibility, so your decision is simpler if petrol is the readily available fuel on your routes.
Who should consider the Splendor+ Flex Fuel?
- You have reliable access to higher ethanol blends. E20-to-E85 compatibility is useful only when those blends are sold where you ride.
- You want the option to use different ethanol concentrations. The revised ECU and fuel system are the reason to choose this version over the standard Splendor+.
- You prefer the announced lower Delhi ex-showroom reference. Confirm the local on-road total and the exact retail trim before treating it as a saving.
- You are comfortable with a model still in phased rollout. Check stock, service familiarity and parts support in your region rather than relying on the national announcement.
- You do not need the N125’s published performance advantage. The Hero is a rational choice when fuel flexibility and straightforward commuting matter more than acceleration.
A practical buying process
- Confirm the model name. Tell the dealer you want the Hero Splendor+ Flex Fuel announced in 2026, not the standard petrol Splendor+.
- Request the written specification. Check engine output, transmission, kerb weight, brakes, tyres and the exact variant equipment on the quotation or manufacturer document.
- Check fuel supply. Ask stations on your regular route whether E20, E85 or other blends are actually available and whether supply is consistent.
- Obtain comparable on-road quotes. Ask both dealers to itemize ex-showroom price, registration, insurance and every additional charge for the same buyer location.
- Inspect local support. Confirm that the outlet can service the Flex Fuel system and obtain the correct ECU and fuel-system parts if required.
- Test ride the exact trim. Evaluate low-speed balance, clutch, braking, vibration, seat comfort and passenger room, not only acceleration.
- Read the fuel instructions before delivery. Keep the manual and ask how the motorcycle should be fuelled or stored when a preferred blend is unavailable.
- Recheck the final invoice and model identification. Make sure the chassis and paperwork identify the motorcycle you selected, especially during a phased launch.
How the choice changes by riding scenario
Mostly urban commuting with ordinary E20 fuel
The N125 is the more performance-oriented option, while the Flex Fuel Splendor+ provides little immediate advantage if you cannot access blends above E20. Compare comfort, dealer distance and on-road price rather than assuming the Hero’s fuel label will reduce running costs.
Frequent two-up riding or open roads
Start with the Pulsar N125 because its published torque and power are higher and its five-speed gearbox is confirmed. Confirm that its ergonomics and braking feel suit your passenger and route during a test ride.
Regular access to E85
The Flex Fuel Splendor+ becomes the purpose-built choice. Verify the station network, expected price and the dealer’s service capability. Keep expectations realistic: compatibility does not establish a guaranteed range or cost-per-kilometre result.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Buying in a region outside the initial rollout
Availability should come before preference. If a dealer cannot provide the Flex Fuel model, delivery date and specifications in writing, the N125 may be the immediately obtainable option. Recheck Hero’s local stock as the rollout expands.
Important limitations when comparing the brochures
- The two power figures are presented under different fuel contexts: Bajaj’s N125 petrol specification versus Hero’s Flex Fuel output stated with E85.
- Hero’s June 2026 release does not state the Flex Fuel motorcycle’s transmission or kerb weight.
- Bajaj’s current page shows a ₹92,270 Delhi ex-showroom starting figure but also contains other variant and FAQ amounts; request a current trim-specific quote.
- The ₹94,707 N125 figure is a 2024 launch price and should not be used as today’s retail price.
- The ₹82,710 Flex Fuel figure is Hero’s June 2026 Delhi ex-showroom announcement, not an on-road quotation for every state.
- The 70 kmpl E20 claim belongs to the standard Splendor+ product page, not the Flex Fuel variant.
- No matched independent economy or road test establishes which motorcycle is more fuel-efficient in real use.
Final buying verdict
Choose the Bajaj Pulsar N125 when your priority is stronger stated performance, a confirmed five-speed gearbox and the published N125 hardware package. Choose the Hero Splendor+ Flex Fuel when E20-to-E85 capability is genuinely useful on your routes, the motorcycle is available locally, and you accept that several retail specifications still need dealer confirmation. Before paying, compare current on-road quotes, verify the exact model and check the fuel blends sold near you. The right answer is determined less by the badge than by whether your daily roads reward performance or ethanol flexibility.
