The Bajaj Pulsar 150 is the stronger value-and-performance choice in the current comparison, while the Honda SP160 makes more sense if you prioritize the reported mileage figure, lower kerb weight, Honda’s listed connectivity equipment and a clearly stated warranty. Your final choice should follow the exact trim, model year, city and on-road quotation—not a headline ex-showroom number.
The comparison is complicated by a substantial Pulsar update announced in August 2026 and by price and weight figures that vary between manufacturer pages, brochures and comparison listings. The guide below keeps those versions separate so you can compare like with like.

Quick verdict: which one suits which rider?
| Priority | Better starting point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Lower quoted purchase price and stronger output in the comparison | Bajaj Pulsar 150 | ZigWheels’ October 13, 2026 snapshot listed the Pulsar base variant at ₹1.15 lakh versus ₹1.18 lakh for the SP160, while the current Bajaj specification lists 14 PS and 13.25 Nm. |
| Claimed fuel economy | Honda SP160 | ZigWheels reports 50 kmpl for the SP160 and 47.5 kmpl for the Pulsar 150. These are reported claimed figures, not results from a common road test. |
| Lower kerb weight | Honda SP160 | Honda’s displayed specifications list 138 kg for the single-disc version and 140 kg for the double-disc version. The current 2026 Pulsar brochure lists 148 kg for SD and 150 kg for TD. |
| Latest connected equipment | Variant-dependent | The 2026 Pulsar announcement adds a 5-inch TFT, Google Maps navigation and Crawl Tech; Honda lists a TFT meter, RoadSync, USB-C charging and a hazard switch. |

Prices: why published numbers do not match
Motorcycle prices change with city taxes, registration, insurance, model year, trim and temporary introductory offers. The available figures are therefore reference points rather than a guaranteed invoice.

- Bajaj’s specification-page search result showed ₹1,11,197 ex-showroom in Delhi.
- ZigWheels’ comparison dated October 13, 2026 listed ₹1.15 lakh for the Pulsar 150 base variant and ₹1.18 lakh for the Honda SP160.
- Bajaj’s August 24, 2026 press release announced introductory pricing from INR 115,233 for the refreshed Pulsar range.
Those amounts can describe different trims, page snapshots or pricing dates. They should not be averaged or treated as a same-day dealer quote. Registration, insurance, handling charges and accessories can materially change the on-road total.
How to get a meaningful price comparison
- Choose the exact variant first. For the Pulsar, identify whether the quote is for the SD or TD configuration and whether it is the 2026 refresh. For the SP160, identify single-disc or double-disc trim.
- Ask both dealers for an itemized on-road quotation in your registration city. Require separate lines for ex-showroom price, registration, insurance, taxes, accessories and any optional service package.
- Check the manufacturing month and model year on the quotation and vehicle documents. Do not compare an older Pulsar listing with a 2026-refresh price.
- Confirm that the quoted motorcycle is physically available and request the expected delivery date. A lower online figure is not useful if that trim is unavailable locally.
Engine output and riding character
Bajaj Pulsar 150: specification and expected feel
Bajaj’s current manufacturer specification lists a 149.50 cc engine producing 14 PS at 8,500 rpm and 13.25 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The same specification page lists a 15-litre fuel tank. Those figures favor a punchier response on paper than the comparative SP160 output, particularly when overtaking or carrying a passenger, although actual acceleration also depends on gearing, rider weight, traffic and riding conditions.
Bajaj announced a significant Pulsar update on August 24, 2026. The release describes a new engine and gearbox, monoshock suspension, a 5-inch TFT console, Crawl Tech and Google Maps navigation. These are 2026-refresh features; they must not be assumed on an earlier Pulsar 150 simply because an older listing uses the same model name.
Honda SP160: specification and attribution
Honda markets the SP160 as a 160 cc, E20-ready, OBD2B motorcycle. Its product information highlights LED lighting, a TFT meter, Honda RoadSync, USB-C charging, a hazard switch and a rear monoshock. The manufacturer page result does not expose a complete engine-output table in the available specification view.

- Premium Material: Made of quality ABS housing and metal material, this moto bike speedometer is sturty, shockproof, sturdy and has a long service life.
- Easy Installation: Direct replacement, this motorcycle digital speedometer is easy and quick to install.
For a direct numerical comparison, ZigWheels lists 162.71 cc and 13.18 PS at 7,500 rpm for the SP160. Treat those numbers as that publisher’s comparative data, not as a substitute for a current Honda technical sheet. They indicate a slightly lower peak-power figure than the Pulsar’s 14 PS, but peak figures alone do not determine smoothness, low-speed tractability or highway comfort.
What the numbers mean in daily use
- Choose the Pulsar if brisker stated output and a performance-oriented response matter more than minimum weight.
- Choose the SP160 if you prefer a lighter motorcycle and want Honda’s current emissions-readiness and connected-equipment package.
- For either bike, ride both in stop-start traffic and on an open stretch before deciding. Clutch effort, throttle calibration, heat management and seat ergonomics cannot be settled from a specification sheet.
Mileage: useful for budgeting, not a promise
ZigWheels reports claimed mileage of 47.5 kmpl for the Pulsar 150 and 50 kmpl for the SP160. The source does not represent these as results from a shared, independently controlled test. Manufacturer test procedures, traffic, fuel quality, tyre pressure, payload, speed and maintenance all affect consumption.
Use the figures to model a possible fuel-cost difference, not to promise an owner’s result. If two motorcycles cover the same distance, even a small economy gap can matter over many years, but the real-world difference may be smaller—or larger—than the reported claims. Record your own fuel use over several full tanks after the break-in period if running cost is decisive.
Weight, dimensions and ease of handling
Weight is one of the clearest practical differences, but the published values are variant-sensitive. Honda’s product-page result lists 138 kg for the single-disc SP160 and 140 kg for the double-disc version. The current 2026 Bajaj brochure lists 148 kg for the Pulsar SD and 150 kg for the TD.

A ZigWheels comparison snapshot instead reports 141 kg for the Pulsar and 138 kg for the SP160. That lower Pulsar figure may represent a different model year or configuration. It should not override the current manufacturer brochure when you are evaluating a 2026 motorcycle.
In everyday use, a lighter SP160 can be easier to reverse out of a parking space, balance at very low speed and recover from a foot-down stop. The heavier Pulsar may feel more planted to some riders, but that is a riding impression to verify during a test ride rather than a guaranteed handling advantage.
Brakes and safety equipment
Pulsar configurations
The current Bajaj brochure lists ABS and different brake hardware by trim. SD variants are listed with a 260 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum. The TD UG configuration is listed with a 280 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc. Confirm the exact brake set on the dealer’s quotation and the motorcycle itself, because trim names and equipment can change between model years.

Honda advertises single-channel ABS and offers single-disc and double-disc variants. The manufacturer’s displayed weight split—138 kg single-disc and 140 kg double-disc—also confirms that the brake choice changes the motorcycle specification. Ask whether the quoted version has the rear disc before comparing it with the Pulsar TD.

Single-channel ABS can help control front-wheel lock under hard braking, but it is not the same as a two-channel system. Regardless of model, maintain tyre pressure, replace worn tyres promptly and practice progressive braking rather than relying on electronics to compensate for poor technique.
Suspension and comfort
The 2026 Pulsar announcement specifically adds monoshock suspension. Honda’s SP160 product information also lists a rear monoshock. Neither source establishes a controlled comfort comparison, so avoid declaring one universally smoother.
During a test ride, check how each bike deals with three situations: sharp speed breakers at low speed, broken pavement while cornering and a sustained 60–80 km/h run. Note handlebar reach, seat firmness, knee angle, passenger space and whether the suspension bottoms with your usual load. A rider who frequently carries a passenger should repeat the ride with the intended luggage or pillion weight where a dealer permits it.

Features and connectivity by model year
What is listed for the current Pulsar
Bajaj’s current specification-page result reports a digital console with Bluetooth functions on TD and selected SD variants. The August 2026 refresh announcement goes further, describing a 5-inch TFT console, Google Maps navigation and Crawl Tech. Because the release covers the refreshed model, ask the dealer whether every quoted Pulsar trim includes those functions or whether they are restricted to a particular variant.

What Honda lists for the SP160
Honda lists a TFT meter, Honda RoadSync connectivity, USB-C charging, LED lighting, a hazard switch and a rear monoshock. The product page identifies the engine as E20-ready and OBD2B compliant. Confirm which phone functions work with your handset, whether navigation requires a paired device and where the USB-C outlet is located before treating connectivity as a deciding benefit.
Features that should not be merged
- Do not assume every Pulsar 150 has the 2026 5-inch TFT or navigation; older inventory may have a different digital console.
- Do not assume every SP160 has the double-disc brake; Honda offers single- and double-disc versions.
- Do not compare a Bluetooth-equipped Pulsar trim with a basic SP160 trim and call the result a model-wide feature verdict.
Warranty, servicing and ownership evidence
Honda states: “Honda SP160 comes with a standard warranty of 3 years, 42000km (whichever is earlier) from date of purchase.” In practical terms, the standard term ends when either three years or 42,000 km is reached, whichever occurs first. Retain service records and follow the maintenance requirements in the owner documentation to protect warranty eligibility.
Honda’s FAQ recommends SAE 10W-30 for MC and gives oil-capacity and service-interval information. Use the exact capacity and interval in the manual for your variant; a generic 10W-30 product is not automatically suitable for every motorcycle.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteA directly comparable current Bajaj warranty and maintenance schedule was not established alongside Honda’s figures. Therefore, it is not defensible to claim that either motorcycle has lower total ownership cost. Before purchase, request each brand’s written warranty exclusions, paid-service schedule, consumables list, roadside-assistance terms and typical parts lead times from the local dealer.
Availability and the test-ride decision
Local stock can matter more than a small paper advantage. Call an authorized outlet and ask for the exact variant, colour, model year and brake configuration. If the outlet only has an older Pulsar, do not use that ride to judge the 2026 refresh’s engine, gearbox, TFT or suspension.
- Verify the chassis and engine details on the display motorcycle or booking form.
- Inspect the console and connect your phone only if the dealer permits it; check that the advertised functions appear on that trim.
- Ride a route containing traffic, a speed breaker, a tight turn and a faster open section.
- Repeat the low-speed manoeuvres with a passenger if regular two-up use is planned.
- Obtain the final written on-road price after the ride, because availability and insurance selection can alter the total.
Common comparison mistakes
- Mixing model years: A pre-refresh Pulsar specification should not be combined with the August 2026 feature list.
- Comparing unlike trims: SD, TD, single-disc and double-disc versions have different brakes and weights.
- Treating claimed mileage as measured economy: The 47.5 and 50 kmpl figures come from a comparison listing, not one shared road test.
- Using ex-showroom price as the final cost: Registration, insurance and city charges are excluded.
- Declaring a reliability or cost winner without evidence: The available material does not provide a controlled reliability study or a like-for-like ownership-cost calculation.
Which bike should you buy?
Choose the Bajaj Pulsar 150 when
- Your dealer’s exact 2026 or current-variant quote is lower and the included equipment meets your needs.
- You value the stated 14 PS and 13.25 Nm output and expect frequent overtakes, open-road riding or two-up use.
- You specifically want the refreshed model’s 5-inch TFT, navigation and Crawl Tech, and the quoted trim includes them.
Choose the Honda SP160 when
- The reported 50 kmpl claim and lower 138–140 kg kerb weight align with your priorities.
- You want Honda’s listed TFT, RoadSync, USB-C, LED lighting and hazard switch.
- The documented three-year/42,000 km warranty and a nearby service outlet provide more confidence for your ownership plan.
When neither is clearly better
If the price difference is small, both variants are available and your use is mostly urban commuting, ergonomics, dealer support and the exact brake equipment should decide the purchase. Take the same route on both motorcycles and compare the final on-road quotations before paying a booking amount.
Final recommendation
The Pulsar 150 is the conditional winner for buyers who place affordability and the comparison’s stronger stated performance first—provided they are looking at the current variant and not an older specification. The SP160 is the better fit for buyers who value the reported mileage advantage, lower official kerb weights, Honda’s listed connected features and the clearly stated warranty. Because prices and equipment vary by city, trim and model year, the right answer is the motorcycle whose exact written quotation and test ride match your priorities.
