There is no single winner between the India-market Bajaj Pulsar 125 and TVS Raider 125. The Raider starts lower in BikeDekho’s dated August 2026 ex-showroom comparison, while the updated Pulsar has the higher published peak-power figure. Raider equipment changes substantially by trim: the top TFT versions add ABS and a rear disc, whereas cheaper versions may use a front drum or a front disc without ABS. Your best choice depends on the exact variant, city price, braking hardware and how each bike feels on a test ride.
Quick answer: which one is better for you?
Choose the TVS Raider 125 if your first priority is the lowest purchase price, a broad range of variants or access to features such as a rear disc and ABS on the TFT DD and SXC DD trims. Choose the Bajaj Pulsar 125 if the published 12.1 hp peak-power figure, the 2026 model’s reported ride modes and its upper-trim TFT connectivity appeal more than the Raider’s lower entry price.

That conclusion is based on published specifications and a dated price comparison, not a same-day road test. The sources do not establish a reliable winner for comfort, long-term reliability, service expense, resale value or owner satisfaction. Those decisions require a test ride and local ownership checks.

| Model and variant | Dated ex-showroom price | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| Bajaj Pulsar 125 (variant 1) | ₹92,990 | August 2026 comparison price; verify the current trim name and city quote. |
| Bajaj Pulsar 125 (variant 2) | ₹99,291 | August 2026 comparison price; equipment should be confirmed with Bajaj or the dealer. |
| Bajaj Pulsar 125 (variant 3) | ₹1,00,288 | August 2026 comparison price; not an on-road total. |
| TVS Raider 125 Drum | ₹83,910 | Lowest listed Raider price; uses the drum-brake configuration described by TVS. |
| TVS Raider 125 Single Seat | ₹89,250 | Dated ex-showroom comparison figure. |
| TVS Raider 125 Split Seat and iGO | ₹94,070 | Variant naming in the comparison; check whether the quoted bike is the iGO-equipped version. |
| TVS Raider 125 SXC DD | ₹97,775 | One of the variants listed with a rear disc and ABS in TVS specifications. |
| TVS Raider 125 SSE | ₹95,820 | Dated ex-showroom comparison figure. |
| TVS Raider 125 TFT DD | ₹1,00,570 | Top listed price; specified with front ABS and a rear disc. |
On those dated figures, the Raider’s starting price is ₹9,080 below the Pulsar’s starting price. At the top of the listed ranges, the Raider is ₹282 higher than the Pulsar figure shown in the table (₹1,00,570 versus ₹1,00,288); the comparison article describes the difference as ₹288, so treat the small gap as a source-rounding or listing discrepancy and verify the invoice. The important buying lesson is that a cheaper base Raider does not make every Raider trim cheaper than every Pulsar.
How to get a usable quote
- Decide the exact trim and brake configuration before asking for a price.
- Use Bajaj’s Pulsar product, enquiry, booking or finance path and TVS’s dealer-locator and test-ride path to identify a nearby authorised outlet.
- Ask for ex-showroom price, registration, insurance, accessories, handling charges, finance interest and every discount as separate line items.
- Compare the final on-road totals for equivalent equipment, particularly ABS, rear disc, TFT console and connectivity.
- Check the manufacturing month, included warranty and delivery date before paying a booking amount.
Engine and performance: Pulsar leads power on paper
Bajaj Pulsar 125 figures
The updated Pulsar is described as a 124.58 cc motorcycle producing 12.1 hp at 8,500 rpm and 11.4 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It uses a five-speed gearbox. The cited figures are published comparison specifications; they are not an independent acceleration test or a guarantee of how the bike will feel with a particular rider, load, tyre pressure or fuel.
TVS Raider 125 figures
TVS lists the Raider as a 124.8 cc, air-and-oil-cooled, three-valve single-cylinder engine. Its stated output is 8.37 kW at 7,500 rpm and 11.2 Nm at 6,000 rpm for the standard specification. The iGO Assist trim is listed at 11.75 Nm. BikeDekho rounds the Raider’s output to 11.4 PS and 11.75 Nm. Do not silently treat hp, PS, bhp and kW as identical units; the numbers come from different source conventions and, in the case of torque, from different Raider variants.

What the numbers mean in use
The Pulsar has the higher stated peak power in the cited comparison. The Raider iGO Assist has the slightly higher stated peak torque, but that advantage applies only to that trim. Peak figures do not reveal gearing, throttle calibration, low-speed response, vibration, heat management or overtaking feel. Ride both motorcycles in traffic, on an open stretch and over the roads you use regularly before deciding.

TVS advertises 0–60 km/h in 5.9 seconds for the iGO Assist. That is a manufacturer claim, not a third-party, same-condition comparison with the Pulsar. It should be treated as an indication of the company’s positioning rather than proof that every Raider variant will deliver that time.
Features and connected technology vary by trim
What is reported for the 2026 Pulsar 125
BikeDekho’s description of the 2026 update includes Road, Rain and Sport ride modes, a new frame and a rear monoshock. Base trims are described with LCD consoles, while upper trims use a 5-inch TFT. Reported connected functions include smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and alerts. The TFT description adds Google Maps mirroring, music controls and document storage.
Those features should not be assumed on every Pulsar 125. Confirm the console type, ride-mode availability and connected functions on the dealer’s quotation or the current Bajaj brochure for your selected variant. The 2026 brochure is indexed, but the cited PDF text was not extractable, so the dealer’s delivered-bike specification is the practical check.

What the Raider offers
Raider displays are described with smartphone connectivity, navigation and call/SMS alerts. BikeDekho also reports voice commands, engine stop/start and a silent starter on applicable versions. TVS does not offer Google Maps mirroring on the Raider according to the comparison. As with the Pulsar, availability depends on trim; a base Drum bike should not be assumed to have the same display or connected package as a TFT DD.

TVS lists a USB-C 27 W fast charger, LED headlamp and LED tail lamp. Tyre dimensions are variant-dependent, so read the specification for the exact model rather than relying on a photograph or a generic Raider review.
Brakes and safety: the Raider’s variant choice matters most
The Raider range spans materially different braking hardware:
| Raider configuration | Front brake | Rear brake | Safety qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| TFT DD and SXC DD | 240 mm disc with ABS | 240 mm disc | These are the variants TVS lists with both ABS and a rear disc. |
| Selected lower trims | 240 mm disc without ABS | Depending on trim, a 130 mm drum with SBT or another listed configuration | Do not infer ABS from the word “disc”. Confirm the exact version. |
| Drum | 130 mm drum | 130 mm drum with SBT where specified | Lowest-price configuration; braking equipment is not equivalent to TFT DD or SXC DD. |
BikeDekho describes single-channel ABS and a rear disc on select Raider versions, while TVS’s specification page identifies TFT DD and SXC DD with the 240 mm front disc, ABS and 240 mm rear disc. The equipment is therefore trim-specific, not a universal Raider feature. Before signing, inspect the motorcycle or the official specification sheet and verify that “ABS” appears on the exact invoice and model code.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe available material does not provide a matching, variant-by-variant Pulsar brake table for the 2026 update. Ask Bajaj for the front and rear brake type, ABS or combined-braking arrangement and tyre specification of the Pulsar you are actually buying. Comparing a base Pulsar with a TFT DD Raider solely by model name can produce a misleading safety conclusion.

Dimensions, fuel range and everyday practicality
TVS lists a 10-litre fuel tank, 180 mm unladen ground clearance and a 1,326 mm wheelbase for the Raider. Listed kerb weight varies by version from 123 to 127 kg. The rear suspension is a five-step adjustable, gas-charged monoshock. Those figures help you judge parking effort, luggage loading and clearance on speed breakers, but they do not establish which bike is more comfortable.
Autocar lists Raider fuel economy as 56.7 kmpl official, 57.14 kmpl in its city test and 61.98 kmpl in its highway test, alongside 56.4 kmpl reported by users. These numbers come from different methods and should not be read as a guaranteed mileage range or as a controlled comparison against the Pulsar. Traffic, speed, rider weight, tyre pressure, maintenance, fuel quality and weather can move real consumption substantially.
Use a simple fuel-cost check
- Fill the tank to the same point and reset the trip meter.
- Ride your normal route for at least several refuelling cycles rather than judging from one short trip.
- Record litres added and kilometres travelled; divide kilometres by litres for your own kmpl.
- Compare the result with the local petrol price and your monthly distance, not with an unqualified internet claim.
No cited source establishes a head-to-head real-world mileage winner for the current Pulsar and Raider. A buyer who values economy should test both under the same route and riding pattern.

Lowest possible purchase price
The Raider Drum is the price leader in the dated comparison at ₹83,910 ex-showroom. It is the logical choice only if its drum-brake specification meets your use and you accept that it does not provide the hardware listed for the TFT DD and SXC DD. Add the complete on-road cost before deciding that it is genuinely cheaper in your city.

Maximum braking equipment in the Raider range
Look first at TFT DD and SXC DD. TVS lists both with a 240 mm front disc, ABS and a 240 mm rear disc. They cost more than the Drum and Single Seat versions, so compare the final price against a similarly equipped Pulsar rather than against the Raider’s headline starting price.
Power-focused choice
The Pulsar’s published 12.1 hp at 8,500 rpm is the stronger peak-power figure in the cited comparison. If frequent open-road riding, two-up use or brisk overtaking matters, make that a starting point for a test ride, not the end of the decision. Engine response and gearing can matter as much as the peak number.
Connected-display buyer
Compare the Pulsar’s reported 5-inch TFT upper trims with the Raider’s TFT versions. The Pulsar TFT description includes Google Maps mirroring, music controls and document storage; the Raider is described with navigation, phone alerts and voice-related functions but without Google Maps mirroring. Confirm the exact software functions, phone compatibility and whether a feature requires a particular app or phone permission.
Daily city commuter
Prioritise manageable weight, smooth low-speed control, lighting, charging, braking confidence and the dealer’s service reach. The Raider’s listed 123–127 kg range is variant-dependent, while the cited material does not provide a directly comparable Pulsar kerb-weight range. A short ride through traffic, a U-turn and a parking manoeuvre will tell you more than a brochure photograph.
What the specifications cannot tell you
Neither the dated price comparison nor the cited specification pages settles long-term reliability, scheduled-service cost, parts availability, resale value, pillion comfort or owner satisfaction. Avoid converting a higher power figure, a larger display or a lower price into a claim that one motorcycle will last longer or cost less to own.
Check the service interval and labour schedule on the manufacturer’s current documents, ask two local owners about appointment wait times and parts delays, and inspect the nearest authorised workshop before purchase. During the test ride, evaluate seat reach, handlebar position, clutch effort, gearbox feel, suspension response over broken roads, braking progression and passenger space. Record your observations immediately; memory after two rides is unreliable.
A practical test-ride and purchase checklist
- Confirm identity: write down the exact model, trim, engine designation and model year on each quotation.
- Check equipment: verify brake type, ABS, rear disc, console, ride modes, charger, tyre size and connected functions physically or on the official specification sheet.
- Ride cold and warm: listen at start-up, then repeat the route after the engine reaches operating temperature.
- Test control: perform slow U-turns, stop-start acceleration, an emergency-style controlled stop and a rough-road section where legal and safe.
- Try the passenger position: have the regular pillion sit on the bike and check grab rails, foot-peg position and seat length.
- Inspect ownership logistics: locate the authorised workshop, ask about booking lead time and obtain written estimates for routine service items.
- Audit the invoice: separate ex-showroom, registration, insurance, accessories, extended warranty, finance charges and discounts.
- Document delivery: match the chassis and engine numbers, check manufacturing date, inspect panels and tyres, and confirm that the promised variant and safety equipment are present.
Final buying decision
The TVS Raider 125 is the stronger value proposition at the entry point in the August 2026 comparison, but its range is too varied for a single “Raider” verdict. The Bajaj Pulsar 125 has the higher published peak-power figure and a reported 2026 technology update, yet its price and equipment also depend on variant. Compare equivalent trims, obtain a current city-specific on-road quote, verify braking hardware and ride both motorcycles. That process—not a universal winner claim—is the safest way to choose between these two 125cc bikes.
