There is no evidence-based universal winner between the Bajaj Pulsar 125 and Honda CB125 Hornet. The announced 2026 Pulsar 125 has the lower dated introductory price and higher headline output on Bajaj’s launch figures, while the CB125 Hornet has a clearly specified technology and hardware package including a 4.2-inch connected TFT, USB Type-C charging, golden USD forks and an adjustable mono-shock. Because the prices come from different cities and years—and Bajaj’s announcement conflicts with its live product page—the sensible choice depends on the exact variant, your current local on-road quote and which equipment matters most.
Quick verdict
| Choose this direction | Why it makes sense | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Pulsar 125 | You want to investigate the lower launch price, the 2026 announcement’s 12 PS/11 Nm figures, revised gearbox and start-stop technology on higher variants. | The launch price and output need to be reconciled with Bajaj’s live page before you pay; equipment is trim-dependent. |
| CB125 Hornet | You prioritise the officially listed connected 4.2-inch TFT, RoadSync compatibility, USB-C, LED lighting, USD forks and adjustable rear suspension. | Honda’s price was an introductory Gurugram figure from August 2025, not a current all-India on-road quote. |
| Neither automatically | You need proven fuel economy, service costs, reliability or comfort data for these exact versions. | No sufficiently supported independent comparison of those ownership factors was available; inspect and test ride both. |
This is a specification and buying guide, not a road-test verdict. Manufacturer claims and secondary listings are identified as such so that an attractive number is not mistaken for a measured result.

Why this comparison needs extra caution
The two motorcycles are not being presented from identical dates or price conditions. Bajaj’s announcement is for an updated motorcycle introduced on 24 August 2026, while Honda unveiled the CB125 Hornet in July 2025 and announced an introductory price in August 2025. A dealer may therefore be selling a different production batch, a different trim or a revised price from the one quoted in a launch release.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesBajaj also has two conflicting sets of figures. Its 2026 announcement gives 124.58 cc, 12 PS and 11 Nm, but the live product page accessed on 13 October 2026 displays 124.6 cc, 9.5 PS and 9.7 Nm. The page also shows a higher starting price. That is not a small rounding difference; it changes the way the motorcycle should be compared. Keep both statements dated and ask which specification applies to the stock motorcycle and invoice.

Which versions are being compared?
Version dates matter more than the familiar model names. Bajaj announced an updated Pulsar 125 on 24 August 2026. That release describes a new engine and gearbox, a new frame, revised gearing and automatic start-stop technology on the top three variants. Older comparison pages may describe an earlier Pulsar 125, so do not assume every older figure applies to the 2026 motorcycle.
Honda unveiled the CB125 Hornet in India on 23 July 2025 and announced its introductory price on 1 August 2025. The specifications below refer to Honda’s launch information. Confirm the production year, trim and equipment on the quotation or invoice because connected features and other hardware can vary by market and variant.
Bajaj positions the Pulsar as a long-running family: its August 2026 release claims more than 20 million Pulsar motorcycles sold across 40 countries over 25 years. That is a manufacturer sales claim and useful context for the model’s market history, but it does not prove that a specific 2026 variant will have lower service costs or better reliability than the Hornet.

| Motorcycle | Published amount | Location and date | What the number means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bajaj Pulsar 125 | INR 92,900 | Delhi, 24 August 2026 | Introductory ex-showroom price in Bajaj’s launch announcement. |
| Bajaj Pulsar 125 | INR 1,04,318 | Delhi, page accessed 13 October 2026 | Starting ex-showroom figure displayed on Bajaj’s live product page; the page labels a Premium Split Seat TFT version. |
| Honda CB125 Hornet | INR 1,12,000 | Gurugram, 1 August 2025 | Introductory ex-showroom price announced by Honda. |
The two Bajaj figures are not interchangeable. The announcement gives INR 92,900, whereas the live page displayed INR 1,04,318 and different engine figures. The available evidence does not establish whether this reflects a different variant, a subsequent update or inconsistent page content. Treat each as a dated source statement and ask the dealer to identify the exact model code behind the quote.
Honda’s INR 1,12,000 amount is from Gurugram and was explicitly introductory. It is not a verified current transaction price across India. Registration, road tax, insurance, handling or documentation charges, accessories and the selected variant can move the on-road total substantially. A fair shopping comparison therefore uses two written, same-city on-road quotations that list every included item.
How to obtain a meaningful quote
- Tell both dealers the same city, intended registration location and preferred variant.
- Request ex-showroom, registration or road tax, insurance, statutory fees, accessories and any dealer charge as separate lines.
- Ask the seller to state the manufacturing year, exact trim name and whether the displayed TFT, navigation, start-stop or RoadSync hardware is standard or optional.
- Compare the final payable amount, finance interest and recurring costs separately; do not treat a low introductory ex-showroom figure as an on-road price.
- Check whether an advertised price is tied to a limited introductory period, exchange bonus, corporate offer or finance package. A discount that requires expensive financing may not reduce your total spend.
- Request the cancellation and booking-refund terms in writing before paying a token amount.
Engine and performance claims
| Specification | Bajaj Pulsar 125 (2026 announcement) | Bajaj live page accessed 13 October 2026 | Honda CB125 Hornet (Honda launch release) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Displacement | 124.58 cc | 124.6 cc | 123.94 cc |
| Peak power | 12 PS at 8,000 rpm | 6.99 kW (9.5 PS) at 8,000 rpm | 8.2 kW, approximately 11.15 PS, at 7,500 rpm |
| Peak torque | 11 Nm at 6,000 rpm | 9.7 Nm at 5,000 rpm | 11.2 Nm at 6,000 rpm |
| Gearbox | New gearbox; revised gearing is claimed to improve low-speed performance | Not separately stated on the cited page | Five-speed gearbox |
Bajaj’s launch release presents the 2026 Pulsar as a substantial mechanical update, quoting 12 PS and 11 Nm and highlighting a better power-to-weight ratio and stronger low-speed response from revised gearing. Those are announcement figures, not an independent dynamometer test.
The live Bajaj product page presents a materially different 9.5 PS and 9.7 Nm. Publish and purchase decisions should keep the two sources separate rather than averaging them or silently selecting the more favourable number. Ask the dealer which specification applies to the motorcycle being invoiced.

Honda also claims 0–60 km/h in 5.4 seconds and calls the Hornet the fastest in its class. That is a manufacturer claim, not an independently timed comparison against the Pulsar.

It is also very quick to remove, there is a small bump on the coaster, pinch it and you can easily remove the coaster. - 100% Satisfaction: Our products have quality assurance, if you have questions or are not satisfied after receiving the product, don't worry, please contact us as soon as possible, we provide after-sales service.
Peak power is only one part of everyday performance. Your experience will also depend on gearing, throttle calibration, clutch take-up, rider and passenger load, traffic and road gradient. The Pulsar release specifically links revised gearing to low-speed response; the Hornet’s published five-speed gearbox gives you a clear transmission specification. Neither statement predicts acceleration in every city or riding situation.
Features and hardware
What Honda officially highlights
- A 4.2-inch TFT instrument display with Bluetooth and Honda RoadSync app compatibility.
- RoadSync functions Honda lists include navigation, call and SMS alerts and music playback when paired with a headset.
- USB Type-C charging.
- All-LED lighting, including a twin LED headlamp and daytime running lights.
- Golden USD front forks.
- A five-step adjustable rear mono-shock.
- A split seat.
These are concrete reasons to shortlist the CB125 Hornet if connected information, phone integration or suspension adjustability is more important to you than a launch-price advantage. Confirm that the particular trim at your dealer retains every listed item.
RoadSync is not the same as a built-in cellular navigation system. It relies on a compatible phone, the app and a headset for functions such as calls, alerts and music. Check phone compatibility, permissions and the pairing process during delivery if these functions are a deciding factor.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →What Bajaj highlights for the 2026 Pulsar
- An all-new engine and gearbox.
- A new frame and revised gearing intended to improve low-speed performance.
- Automatic start-stop technology on the top three variants.
- A 5-inch TFT and Google Maps navigation in the announcement’s technology highlights.
Bajaj’s release presents these as part of the updated model range, not a promise that every Pulsar 125 trim has every feature. The live page specifically labels a Premium Split Seat TFT version, reinforcing the need to match equipment with the exact variant. Ask for a written feature list rather than assuming the least expensive motorcycle has the 5-inch display, navigation or start-stop system.
Automatic start-stop may be useful in repeated urban halts, but its value depends on how smoothly it restarts and whether the rider can disable or configure it. Ask the salesperson to demonstrate the system in traffic-like conditions and explain any dashboard indicator. Do not assign a fuel-saving percentage without measured evidence.
Weight and mileage: useful clues, not test results
| Figure | Pulsar 125 | CB125 Hornet | Evidence and limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claimed mileage | 51.46 km/l | 48 km/l | Figures listed by ZigWheels on a page updated 22 September 2026; not independently measured here. |
| Kerb weight | 131 kg | 124 kg | Same secondary listing; its Pulsar data may refer to an older version. |
The secondary listing also contains older Pulsar engine figures elsewhere, so its mileage and weight entries should not be treated as definitive specifications for the announced 2026 model. Riding conditions, traffic, tyre pressures, rider mass, fuel quality and maintenance change fuel consumption. Use the numbers as a starting point, then record your own fuel use after several full tanks if economy is decisive.
A seven-kilogram difference, if the listed weights apply to the exact motorcycles, can affect pushing the bike out of a parking space, turning around on a narrow lane and balancing with a passenger. It does not automatically establish which bike feels lighter while moving. Seat height, centre of gravity, handlebar leverage and suspension setup matter too, so perform slow-speed manoeuvres on both.

No sufficiently supported independent test was found for real-world economy, reliability, service cost or ride comfort of these exact versions. Neither motorcycle should be declared cheaper to run or more comfortable solely from the figures above.

Which bike fits which buyer?
Choose the Pulsar direction when the 2026 update is your priority
The Pulsar deserves closer attention if the dealer can verify the 2026 specification and your priorities are the announced 12 PS output, revised low-speed gearing, new gearbox, new frame or automatic start-stop on an eligible higher variant. The dated Delhi introductory price is also the lower of the three published amounts, but it is not a current quote and should not be used as your budget ceiling until confirmed.
It may also suit buyers who prefer the Pulsar family’s established identity or want to investigate the 5-inch TFT and Google Maps navigation mentioned in the launch highlights. Verify whether those features are fitted to the trim you can actually buy, and compare the warranty, service schedule and consumable prices on the written dealer documents.
Choose the Hornet direction when equipment is more important than launch pricing
The CB125 Hornet is the more clearly documented choice for buyers who want a connected TFT, USB-C, LED lighting, USD forks and a five-step adjustable mono-shock in the official feature list. Its 8.2 kW output and 11.2 Nm torque are close to the Pulsar’s announcement figures on paper, but the figures come from different manufacturers and test conditions; a showroom ride is more informative for throttle response, clutch feel and gearing.
The Hornet’s equipment may be particularly relevant if you commute after dark, regularly use navigation or share the bike with a passenger and value suspension adjustment. Those benefits should be balanced against the final on-road price rather than the old Gurugram introductory amount.
Wait and verify when your decision depends on ownership data
If your purchase depends on service intervals, spare-part pricing, long-term reliability, pillion comfort or measured fuel economy, the available material does not establish a winner. Obtain service schedules and consumable prices from authorised dealers, inspect both motorcycles and arrange test rides before signing.
Ownership-cost questions to ask
Neither launch announcement supplies a complete cost-of-ownership comparison. Ask each authorised dealer for the first service interval, labour charge, engine-oil quantity and price, air-filter and brake-pad prices, warranty duration, roadside-assistance terms and the cost of replacing the connected display or charging hardware. These questions are more useful than assuming the lower ex-showroom price guarantees lower lifetime spending.
Insurance premiums can differ with location, declared value and optional cover. Obtain comparable insurance quotes with the same coverage, not one dealer’s bundled policy versus another dealer’s basic policy. If financing, compare the annual interest rate, processing fee, down payment, total repayment and foreclosure terms separately from the motorcycle’s cash price.
A practical showroom and test-ride checklist
- Match the identity: Photograph the model name, variant badge and vehicle identification details on each motorcycle. Confirm that the quote describes the same version you inspected.
- Check the display: Turn on the TFT and verify whether navigation, Bluetooth pairing, RoadSync or Google Maps functions are actually enabled on that trim.
- Test ergonomics: Sit in your normal riding position, place both feet as you would at a stop and check reach to the handlebar, levers and mirrors. Repeat with a passenger if that is a regular use case.
- Assess low-speed behaviour: Ride through slow traffic and a tight turn. Notice clutch take-up, first-to-second shift, throttle smoothness and whether the gearing feels comfortable without relying on a claimed power figure.
- Evaluate suspension: Cross the same speed breaker or rough patch on both motorcycles at a controlled speed. The Hornet’s adjustable mono-shock can be set up for preference, while the correct setting and tyre pressure still matter.
- Check practical charging: Bring your phone and cable to confirm that the USB Type-C port and storage arrangement suit your device.
- Try the controls: Operate the indicators, horn, high-beam switch, display menus and start-stop controls while stationary. Confirm that the information you want is readable in daylight.
- Review the quote: Get the final on-road price in writing, including insurance and every dealer-added item, before comparing affordability.
- Inspect delivery details: Match the engine and chassis numbers on the invoice and delivery motorcycle, check the manufacturing month and confirm that the promised accessories and documentation are present.
Common comparison mistakes
Using an old Pulsar specification
A page that lists 9.5 PS, 9.7 Nm or a different weight may describe the live-page version or an older motorcycle rather than the 24 August 2026 announcement. Date every number and ask which model year the seller is offering.

Mixing cities and price dates
Delhi and Gurugram have different registration and tax conditions, and a 2025 introductory price is not equivalent to a 2026 dealer quote. Compare same-city, same-date on-road totals.
Assuming range-wide equipment
Start-stop technology is identified for the top three Pulsar variants, while the Hornet’s listed equipment still needs trim confirmation. A feature appearing in a launch release does not prove it is standard on the base model.
Treating claims as measurements
Honda’s 5.4-second 0–60 km/h statement and the secondary mileage figures are not independent tests. Manufacturer output is useful for specification comparison, but it cannot predict every rider’s acceleration or fuel consumption.

Ignoring unit differences
Honda publishes power in kilowatts while Bajaj uses PS in the announcement and kW/PS on its live page. Convert units transparently and retain the original figure so readers can check what each manufacturer actually stated.
Comparing accessories as if they were standard
Phone mounts, luggage, crash protection and cosmetic accessories can be fitted by a dealer or owner. Include them only when the quote identifies them and their price. Do not treat an accessory shown in a photograph as factory equipment.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Bottom line: how to make the final choice
Start with two exact variants, not two model names. Verify the 2026 Pulsar’s applicable price and engine output against the motorcycle in stock; do the same for Hornet equipment and the current local quote. If the verified Pulsar is meaningfully less expensive and you value its announced mechanical updates, it may be the stronger value case. If connected instrumentation, USB-C, LED lighting and adjustable suspension are central to your daily riding, Honda’s documented feature set gives the Hornet a persuasive advantage. The evidence does not justify declaring either motorcycle universally better, so let the same-city on-road price, confirmed equipment and your test ride decide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which bike is best between Bajaj Pulsar 125 and Honda CB125 Hornet?
There is no universal winner. Verify the exact 2026 Pulsar variant and price first. Choose the Pulsar if its confirmed price and updated mechanical package suit your priorities; choose the Hornet if its connected TFT, USB-C, LED lighting, USD forks and adjustable mono-shock matter more.
Is the Bajaj Pulsar 125 cheaper than the Honda CB125 Hornet?
Bajaj announced an introductory INR 92,900 ex-showroom Delhi price in August 2026, while its live page later displayed INR 1,04,318. Honda announced INR 1,12,000 ex-showroom Gurugram in August 2025. These are different dates and cities, so compare current same-city on-road quotations.

Why do the Bajaj Pulsar 125 power figures conflict?
The 24 August 2026 announcement states 12 PS and 11 Nm. Bajaj’s live page accessed on 13 October 2026 displays 9.5 PS and 9.7 Nm. The cause is not established, so ask the dealer which specification applies to the exact motorcycle and invoice.
What is the Honda CB125 Hornet’s claimed acceleration?
Honda claims 0–60 km/h in 5.4 seconds and calls the Hornet the fastest in its class. This is a manufacturer claim, not an independently timed comparison with the Pulsar 125.
Which bike has better mileage?
A ZigWheels comparison updated 22 September 2026 lists 51.46 km/l for the Pulsar 125 and 48 km/l for the CB125 Hornet. These are secondary figures, the Pulsar version is ambiguous, and no independent test was conducted here. Treat them as clues rather than guarantees.
Does every Pulsar 125 get start-stop, TFT and navigation?
No universal fitment should be assumed. Bajaj identifies automatic start-stop on the top three variants and mentions a 5-inch TFT and Google Maps navigation in its announcement highlights. Confirm the exact trim’s equipment in writing.
What connectivity does the CB125 Hornet offer?
Honda lists a 4.2-inch TFT with Bluetooth and RoadSync compatibility. Honda says RoadSync can provide navigation, call and SMS alerts and music playback with a headset, while USB Type-C charging is also listed. Confirm phone compatibility and trim fitment.
Should I compare ex-showroom prices or on-road prices?
Use same-city on-road prices for the buying decision. Ask for separate lines for ex-showroom cost, registration, road tax, insurance, statutory fees, accessories and dealer charges so introductory figures are not mistaken for the final amount.
Is the lighter Honda automatically easier to ride?
A secondary listing shows 124 kg for the Hornet and 131 kg for the Pulsar, but the Pulsar entry may refer to an older version. Seat height, centre of gravity, ergonomics and suspension also affect handling, so test both at low speed.

What should I check before booking either motorcycle?
Confirm the model year, exact variant, engine output, display and charging equipment, manufacturing month, warranty, service schedule and a complete same-city on-road quote. Test the controls, ergonomics, clutch, gearbox and suspension before paying.
The Bottom Line
Choose only after verifying the exact motorcycle. The Pulsar’s dated launch figures suggest a potential price and output advantage, while the Hornet offers a clearly documented connected and adjustable hardware package. A current same-city on-road quote and back-to-back test ride are more reliable decision tools than headline launch numbers.
