Bajaj Pulsar 125 or Hero Glamour X 125: Which 125cc Bike Fits You in 2026?

The Bajaj Pulsar 125 brings newer announced technology and a larger tank, while the Hero Glamour X 125 is lighter and feature-rich. Compare exact variants, current city prices and braking equipment before buying.

Choose the Bajaj Pulsar 125 if you prioritise the newer equipment package, slightly higher published output, a larger fuel tank and a more substantial chassis. Choose the Hero Glamour X 125 if low weight, convenience features and Hero’s claimed E20 mileage figure matter more. There is no universal winner: the correct choice depends on the exact model year, variant, local on-road quote, braking equipment and your test-ride impression.

The short answer: Pulsar 125 for equipment, Glamour X 125 for lightness and convenience

These motorcycles occupy the same 125cc commuter class, but they are aimed at slightly different priorities. Bajaj’s August 24, 2026 Pulsar 125 update adds a revised engine and gearbox, a 5-inch TFT console, Crawl Tech, Google Maps navigation and a monoshock description in the launch announcement. Bajaj’s current model information lists 124.38cc, 8.68kW (11.8PS) and 10.8Nm. The Pulsar also has a 15-litre tank and a higher published kerb weight of 144–146kg, depending on the listed variant.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Hero’s Glamour X 125 uses a 124.7cc engine rated at 8.5kW and 10.5Nm. It is much lighter at 125.5kg for the Drum Self Cast version and 127kg for the Disc Self Cast version. Hero highlights ride modes, cruise control, a multicolour console, panic brake alert and a claimed fuel economy of up to 65km/l with E20 fuel. That mileage number comes from Hero’s product-page claim based on third-party testing reports; it is not an independent, head-to-head result against the Pulsar.

Because prices and equipment have changed across model years, compare dealer stock by exact variant rather than relying on an old comparison article. A test ride should settle the practical questions that specifications cannot: clutch effort, low-speed balance, seat comfort, suspension response, engine refinement and passenger space.

Price: why a simple “cheaper bike” answer can be wrong

Price comparisons need three labels: city, ex-showroom or on-road, and exact variant. Registration, insurance, road tax, accessories and dealer charges can materially change the amount you pay.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 price references

Bajaj’s August 24, 2026 update announcement gave an introductory starting price of ₹92,900. Bajaj’s current product page subsequently showed a Delhi ex-showroom starting price of ₹1,04,318. Those are different dated price snapshots and should not be treated as interchangeable. Neither figure is a current on-road quote for every city or variant.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Hero Glamour X 125 price references

Hero’s August 19, 2025 launch announcement listed ₹89,999 ex-showroom Delhi for the Drum version and ₹99,999 ex-showroom Delhi for the Disc version. These were launch prices. A present-day Glamour X may have a different price, equipment list or availability, and a local dealer may quote a different total after taxes, insurance and registration.

How to obtain a fair quote

  1. Write down the full variant name, including Drum, Disc or ABS designation.
  2. Ask both dealers for an itemised quotation for the same city and the same insurance duration.
  3. Separate mandatory registration and insurance from optional accessories, extended warranty and service packages.
  4. Check the manufacturing month and model year on the proposed motorcycle and invoice.
  5. Compare the final on-road totals, not one motorcycle’s ex-showroom price with the other motorcycle’s financed or insured total.

If a dealer offers an older introductory price, ask for written confirmation that it applies to the exact VIN, variant and billing date.

Engine and real-world performance

What the published numbers suggest

The Pulsar’s published 8.68kW and 10.8Nm are marginally higher than the Glamour X’s 8.5kW and 10.5Nm. The displacement difference is tiny—124.38cc versus 124.7cc—so capacity alone does not predict which motorcycle will feel quicker. Peak figures also do not reveal gearing, throttle calibration, engine vibration, clutch take-up or how much usable torque arrives at low revs.

Bajaj says the updated Pulsar has a new engine and gearbox. Hero’s launch announcement describes ride-by-wire on the Glamour X. Both are meaningful engineering changes compared with a basic, fixed-throttle commuter, but the published material does not establish a measured acceleration or top-speed advantage for either bike.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What to evaluate on a test ride

  • Initial take-off: release the clutch slowly in first gear and note whether the engine pulls cleanly without excessive slip or abruptness.
  • Low-speed traffic: ride at walking pace between turns. A light Glamour X may feel easier to balance, while the heavier Pulsar may feel more planted; your body position and handlebar reach decide which impression is preferable.
  • Mid-range response: from a steady urban speed, roll on the throttle in the same gear. Look for smooth response rather than relying on a peak-power number.
  • Gearbox feel: shift repeatedly through the lower gears, checking for false neutrals, a heavy lever or a clutch that becomes tiring in congestion.
  • Vibration and heat: spend enough time above typical city speeds to notice buzz through the grips, pegs or seat.

Do not describe either motorcycle as definitively faster without a controlled, independent test. Manufacturer ratings are useful for comparison, but they do not establish subjective acceleration, refinement or comfort.

Features: two different interpretations of a modern commuter

Pulsar 125 technology

The August 2026 update announcement highlights a 5-inch TFT console, Google Maps navigation and Crawl Tech, alongside the revised engine and gearbox and a monoshock suspension description. These features can be valuable if you regularly navigate unfamiliar roads or want a richer display than a conventional commuter instrument cluster.

Verify that the motorcycle in the showroom carries the same equipment announced in 2026. The announcement, the current product page and the 2026 brochure represent different documents, and listed suspension details are not identical: the announcement refers to a monoshock, while the brochure notes twin hydraulic rear suspension for its listed variants. Treat that as a model-year or variant question to resolve with the VIN-specific specification sheet.

Glamour X 125 technology

Hero’s August 2025 launch material describes ride-by-wire, three ride modes—Eco, Road and Power—cruise control, a panic brake alert and low-battery kick-startability. The product page also promotes a multicolour console. These features target daily convenience rather than a navigation-focused cockpit.

Ride modes are useful only if their throttle response suits your routes. Eco may make smooth commuting easier, Road can be a neutral everyday setting and Power may be useful when carrying a passenger or climbing, but the published material does not quantify a separate performance or economy result for each mode. Cruise control should be treated as a convenience feature for appropriate, legal roads, not a reason to stop paying attention to traffic.

Size, weight, comfort and passenger use

Seat height and ground clearance

The Glamour X lists a 790mm seat height, 5mm lower than the Pulsar brochure’s 795mm. That difference is modest, but riders with shorter inseams may notice it when backing into a parking space or placing both feet down. The Glamour X lists 170mm of ground clearance versus 165mm in the Pulsar brochure, which may provide a little more margin over tall speed breakers. Actual clearance depends on load, tyre pressure and suspension condition.

Weight and manoeuvrability

At 125.5–127kg, the Glamour X is roughly 17–20kg lighter than the Pulsar brochure’s 144–146kg range. Weight is most noticeable when pushing the motorcycle out of a parking spot, making a tight U-turn, recovering from a lean at low speed or loading it onto a stand. The Pulsar’s extra mass can also feel reassuring on an open road, but that is a riding impression to confirm yourself rather than a guaranteed stability advantage.

Suspension and seating

The Pulsar brochure lists 30mm telescopic front suspension and twin hydraulic rear suspension, while Bajaj’s 2026 announcement describes a monoshock. Confirm which arrangement belongs to the exact variant offered to you. Hero’s published product information in the supplied material does not provide a complete suspension specification, so a ride over broken asphalt is more informative than a brochure comparison.

YGDMD 2PCS Car Seat Gap Filler Organizer,2 in 1 Car Gap Filler (Black) | Multifunctional Design,Fill and Storage Function for Storing Phones Keys Cards,No Drop Seat Guard for Cars Suvs Trucks
  • Buyer's Guide: The seat guard for car seat between seat & console measures 15.75*2.7*1.53", suitable for gaps of 1.43-1.53" in width, please double-check carefully the distance between your seat and the center console before placing an order
  • Storage and Filling in One: Differ from traditional single-function gap fillers, gap filler for car incorporates storage function, offers you the convenience of storing phones and various other items, so that you can access them at any time while driving
  • Avoid Items Slipping: With the bumps and vibrations of the car, phones, keys may fall into the seat crevices, which is difficult to pick up, and distracts the driver's attention. Car gap seat filler fills gaps seamlessly to create an effective barrier
  • Easy to Install: Car side seat gap filler is easy to install, simply insert it into the gap between the seat and the center console, gap seat filler for car can fit tightly without affecting the normal adjustment of the seat and the use of the seat belt
  • Premium Material: Crafted from premium EVA material, our car seat side gap filler boasts a combination of wear-resistant, softness&durability. Maintenance is effortless, simply rinse and wipe to quickly clean the dust and debris in corners and crevices

Use the same route for both bikes: a smooth road, patched surface, speed breaker and a short stretch with a passenger if possible. Check whether the seat supports your hips, whether your knees feel cramped, whether the passenger has usable grab points and whether the rear suspension bottoms out under combined weight.

Brakes and safety equipment

The 2026 Pulsar brochure lists combined braking system (CBS), a 240mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum for its listed variants. CBS can help distribute braking force when both controls are used correctly, but it does not eliminate stopping-distance limits caused by speed, tyres, surface grip or rider technique.

Hero’s official material includes Glamour X ABS variant information, but the supplied evidence does not establish a complete, current variant-by-variant availability and price comparison. Do not assume that every Glamour X carries ABS, or that an ABS-equipped version is available in your city, until the official specification sheet and quotation confirm it.

During a legal, low-speed test in a clear area, apply the brakes progressively and check lever feel, straight-line stability and whether the rear brake engages smoothly. Inspect the exact tyre sizes and confirm that the motorcycle is delivered with the safety equipment promised on the invoice.

Fuel economy and running range

Hero states up to 65km/l with E20 fuel on the Glamour X product page, qualifying the number as based on third-party testing reports and noting that actual results vary with riding conditions. It is a claimed figure, not a guaranteed result and not an independent comparison with the Pulsar.

The Pulsar brochure lists a 15-litre tank, while Hero lists 10 litres for the Glamour X. A larger tank can reduce refuelling frequency, but it also contributes to weight when full. The practical range depends on your actual consumption, reserve strategy, traffic and fuel quality. Do not multiply the claimed 65km/l by the full 10-litre capacity and treat the result as a promise.

How to measure your own economy

  1. Fill the tank to the same level at a known fuel station and reset the trip meter.
  2. Ride your normal route for at least several hundred kilometres, recording passenger use, traffic and tyre-pressure checks.
  3. Refill to the same level and divide kilometres travelled by litres added.
  4. Repeat the calculation over more than one tank; a single refill can be distorted by fill level and riding conditions.

Use the same method on both motorcycles if economy is a deciding factor. Keep the manufacturer’s claim separate from your measured result.

Dealer, service and parts support

Neither a specification sheet nor a launch announcement can tell you how convenient ownership will be in your locality. Before paying a booking amount, check whether an authorised workshop is nearby, how long routine parts usually take, whether the service department can support the motorcycle’s electronic features and what roadside assistance or warranty terms are written in the current documents.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Ask for the scheduled service intervals, labour charges and consumables in writing.
  • Confirm warranty duration, exclusions and whether connected-console or navigation components have separate coverage.
  • Ask whether the exact brake, suspension and instrument variants are stocked locally.
  • Inspect the dealer’s process for software updates or diagnostics if the motorcycle has a TFT display or ride-by-wire system.
  • Check the availability of replacement body panels, levers, mirrors and model-specific electrical parts.

A motorcycle that is slightly cheaper on paper can cost more in time and transport if its service network is inconvenient. Choose the brand with the stronger authorised support in your own city, not an abstract national ranking.

Which bike suits which rider?

Choose the Bajaj Pulsar 125 when:

  • You want the newer announced technology package, including a 5-inch TFT, navigation and Crawl Tech, and the dealer confirms those features on the exact motorcycle.
  • You prefer the higher published power and torque figures, while understanding that they do not prove a faster road test.
  • You value a 15-litre tank and do not mind a substantially heavier motorcycle.
  • You prefer the Pulsar’s riding position, chassis feel and passenger accommodation after testing it.
  • The local quote, braking equipment and service support are competitive for the variant you want.

Choose the Hero Glamour X 125 when:

  • You want a motorcycle around 125.5–127kg that is easier to manoeuvre in crowded streets and parking areas.
  • You will actually use ride modes, cruise control, the multicolour console or panic brake alert.
  • You prefer the slightly lower 790mm seat and 170mm published ground clearance.
  • You are comfortable treating 65km/l as Hero’s qualified claim rather than a guaranteed economy result.
  • The exact Disc or ABS configuration offers the braking equipment you require at a sensible local on-road price.

A buyer’s inspection checklist

  1. Identify the motorcycle: record model year, variant, colour and VIN from the proposed unit.
  2. Match the specification: verify engine output, suspension type, console, navigation, ride modes and braking system against the current official sheet.
  3. Check the quote: request an itemised, city-specific on-road price with insurance and registration separated from optional items.
  4. Inspect condition: look for tyre date codes, storage damage, scratches, fluid leaks, battery condition and an odometer reading consistent with a new vehicle.
  5. Perform the ride: test starts, low-speed balance, clutch, gear changes, braking, speed breakers, passenger space and vibration.
  6. Confirm ownership terms: obtain warranty, service schedule, roadside assistance and delivery commitments in writing.
  7. Compare total value: include likely accessories, insurance renewal, fuel use, service access and the cost of choosing a higher brake or technology variant.

Common comparison mistakes

  • Mixing years: comparing a 2025 Glamour X launch price with a 2026 Pulsar quote creates a historical snapshot, not a current buying decision.
  • Mixing variants: a Drum motorcycle and a Disc or ABS motorcycle do not provide an equivalent equipment comparison.
  • Calling a claim a test result: Hero’s 65km/l figure is qualified and manufacturer-published; it is not proof that every rider will achieve it.
  • Reading peak output as acceleration: gearing, throttle mapping, load and road conditions affect the actual response.
  • Ignoring specification conflicts: the Pulsar announcement’s monoshock reference and the brochure’s twin-hydraulic description must be reconciled for the exact stock unit.
  • Using a national price: Delhi ex-showroom figures do not equal your city’s on-road amount.

Final buying decision

For a buyer who wants the most technology and a larger tank, the updated Bajaj Pulsar 125 is the more compelling starting point—provided the dealer confirms the 2026 equipment and the heavier chassis suits you. For a buyer who values easy handling, a lower mass and convenience-oriented electronics, the Hero Glamour X 125 is the stronger fit. The final decision should be made only after comparing equivalent variants, checking the current city quote and riding both motorcycles on the same route.
