For most budget commuters, the Bajaj Platina 110 is the stronger specification-led choice: it has the larger 115.06 cc engine, a listed 9.5 PS output, more torque, a five-speed gearbox and an 11-litre tank. Choose the Hero Passion Plus when Hero’s i3S stop-start system, a disc-front variant or its variant-specific digital and connectivity equipment matters more than engine size.
This is a comparison of listed specifications and equipment, not a road-test result. Prices, available trims, registration costs and dealer support differ by city. Get written quotes for the exact variants and ride both motorcycles before paying a booking amount.

The Platina figures come from Bajaj Auto’s current Platina 110 Drum product page, accessed in 2026. The Passion Plus figures and equipment notes come from Hero MotoCorp’s current Passion Plus product page, also accessed in 2026. The table deliberately marks information that is not established by those pages instead of filling gaps with estimates.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThe 17.86 cc displacement difference is meaningful on paper, but it is not a promise of a particular acceleration time. Likewise, the 1.85 Nm torque gap should be treated as a specification advantage rather than a substitute for riding both motorcycles. A rider’s height, traffic pattern and passenger load can change which bike feels easier.

Which bike is better for your daily use?
Choose the Platina 110 for a stronger, more flexible commuter
The Platina 110’s 115.06 cc engine is 17.86 cc larger than the Passion Plus unit. Bajaj lists 9.5 PS at 7,500 rpm and 9.9 Nm at 5,500 rpm. On paper, that gives the Platina a clear output advantage for carrying a passenger, climbing inclines and maintaining pace when traffic opens up. Its five-speed gearbox also gives the rider one more ratio to keep the engine in a comfortable range across stop-and-go streets and faster connecting roads.
Bajaj also highlights SnS rear suspension, a long quilted seat, hand guards, wide pillion footpads and an LED daytime running light. Those are manufacturer-described design features, not independent measurements of ride comfort, braking performance or visibility. A test ride remains important, particularly if your route includes broken pavement or you regularly carry a pillion.
The five-speed layout can also matter to riders who travel between a village and a nearby town, use a ring road or encounter changing gradients. More ratios give the rider another option when the engine speed feels too low or too busy, although the useful gear choice depends on actual calibration and traffic. Ask the salesperson to explain the recommended running-in and shifting guidance rather than assuming a fifth gear automatically lowers fuel use.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Choose the Passion Plus for i3S or feature-led equipment
Hero lists a 97.2 cc fuel-injected engine, 8.05 Nm at 6,000 rpm and a four-speed gearbox. The Passion Plus is offered in Drum and Disc-front variants, so buyers who specifically want a front disc can select the appropriate trim. Hero also highlights its i3S idle stop-start system, LED lighting and equipment that changes by variant, including digital and connectivity-related instrumentation on applicable versions.
Those features can matter more than the Platina’s larger engine if most of your riding is slow urban commuting and you value automatic stop-start behavior or a particular instrument/connected feature. Confirm exactly which equipment is fitted to the motorcycle being quoted; variant names and availability can differ between locations.
i3S is most relevant on routes with repeated red lights and pauses. Ask the dealer to demonstrate how the system activates, how it restarts the engine and whether it can be disabled when you prefer continuous running. Do not assume that a feature shown in a national advertisement is present on every Passion Plus trim.
Engine, gearbox and everyday performance
What the listed numbers indicate
The Platina has the higher published displacement, torque and power figures, while also using a five-speed transmission. That combination makes it the logical starting point for riders who expect frequent two-up use, flyover climbs or occasional stretches outside dense city traffic. It does not prove that the motorcycle will feel faster or smoother in every condition: gearing, throttle calibration, rider weight, road gradient and service condition all affect the experience.
The Passion Plus’s smaller engine and four-speed gearbox are aligned with a straightforward commuter brief. Hero’s page establishes the 8.05 Nm torque figure but does not provide a maximum-power number in the cited material, so a precise power-to-power comparison cannot be made from these sources. Do not treat an unlisted figure from an online comparison table as an official current specification without checking the exact local variant.

Fuel injection is listed for the Passion Plus. That identifies the engine’s delivery system, but it does not establish a mileage advantage over the Platina. Real consumption depends on throttle use, traffic, tyre pressure, load, maintenance and fuel quality. If a dealer quotes a mileage number, ask whether it is a test-cycle figure, a customer average or simply an advertising claim.
How to test the difference
- Ride each bike on the same route with a cold start, several speed breakers and at least one open stretch.
- Repeat the route with your usual pillion if two-up riding is normal; passenger weight changes low-speed balance and acceleration demand.
- Use the gears you would normally select rather than trying to produce a top-speed test. Pay attention to how often you need to shift, whether the engine feels strained on inclines and how easy it is to pull away after a turn.
- Check clutch effort, handlebar reach and low-speed stability during U-turns and parking manoeuvres. These impressions cannot be derived from the specification sheets.
- Start, stop and restart in the traffic conditions where you expect to use i3S. Check whether the system’s behavior feels natural to you.
- Repeat a short section with the headlamp, indicators and instrument functions operating. Confirm that controls are reachable without taking an awkward hand position.
Fuel economy: a claim, not a guaranteed winner
Hero lists 70 kmpl for both Passion Plus variants. That is a manufacturer-page figure, not an independently verified result for every rider or route. The cited Bajaj page does not provide a comparable mileage number for the Platina 110 Drum, so the available evidence does not establish a mileage winner.
Your result will depend on traffic density, average speed, tyre pressure, load, fuel quality, maintenance and how often the engine idles. If fuel cost is a deciding factor, record the first several full-tank refills after purchase under normal use rather than relying on a brochure or a short dealer ride. Keep the two bikes’ test conditions identical if you are comparing them before buying.
For a useful ownership record, fill the tank to the same level, note the odometer and keep receipts for several refills. Compare averages over multiple tanks, not one unusually clear or congested week. Include the cost of scheduled service, consumables and insurance when estimating annual transport expense; a mileage claim alone cannot provide a total cost of ownership.
Comfort, suspension and carrying a passenger
Bajaj specifically calls out SnS rear suspension, a long quilted seat and wide pillion footpads on the Platina 110. These features suggest that passenger space and rough-road compliance are important parts of its design brief, but the manufacturer wording is not a measured comfort score. Sit on the bike with both feet positioned as you would at a stop and check whether the seat shape lets you move without sliding into the rider.
Hero’s cited Passion Plus information establishes the variants and equipment but does not provide an equivalent independent suspension or seat-comfort measurement. Compare the two motorcycles directly on the roads you use. Take a passenger if that is routine, and check whether the pillion can place both feet securely, whether the grab area is usable and whether the suspension bottoms out over your familiar speed breakers.
Also check practical details that a specification table usually omits: steering effort during a full-lock turn, the ease of lifting the bike off its stand, mirror adjustment, reach to the rear brake and whether your everyday bag interferes with the controls. These are personal-fit questions, so a ten-minute showroom sit is not enough if you can arrange a longer ride.

Brakes, lighting and instruments
Brake choice
The Passion Plus is listed in both Drum and Disc-front forms. A disc-front version may be the reason to choose a particular Passion Plus trim, but you should verify the exact braking hardware on the dealer’s quotation and the display motorcycle. The cited Platina page presents the 110 Drum model, so do not assume a different Platina brake configuration without checking the local range.

Brake hardware is only one part of stopping confidence. During the test ride, apply the brakes progressively at low and moderate speed, check lever reach and notice whether either wheel feels grabby or vague. Do this in a safe, dry area and follow the dealer’s instructions; a brief ride cannot establish emergency stopping distance or long-term durability.
Lighting and daytime visibility
Bajaj highlights an LED DRL on the Platina. Hero describes LED lighting for the Passion Plus. These statements identify equipment, not a comparative night-time beam test or a guarantee of visibility in rain and dust. Inspect the headlamp aim and switchgear during the ride, and confirm whether the quoted trim includes the lighting configuration shown in promotional material.
Digital and connected equipment
Hero’s page notes variant-dependent digital and connectivity equipment. Features may therefore differ between the Drum and Disc versions or by market. Ask the dealer to demonstrate pairing, notifications and controls on the exact vehicle identification and variant being sold. Do not pay a premium for a feature that is only available on another trim.

Price: make a like-for-like local comparison
Bajaj displays ₹75,797 as the starting ex-showroom Delhi price for the Platina 110 Drum. Hero cautions that Passion Plus on-road pricing varies by state and taxes. These are different price bases: an ex-showroom Delhi figure cannot be compared directly with an on-road quote from another city.
Ask both dealers for an itemised quote containing the same categories:
- Exact model and brake variant.
- Ex-showroom price and any current manufacturer charge.
- Registration, road tax and insurance.
- Optional accessories, extended warranty and service packages.
- Delivery timeframe and any mandatory add-ons.
Request the quote on the same day where possible because prices, schemes and insurance premiums can change. Separate compulsory government charges from optional accessories, and ask whether a discount is tied to dealer finance or a particular insurer. A lower headline price can disappear after add-ons are included.
An indexed comparison result from ZigWheels, marked last updated September 15, 2026, shows ₹76,924 for a Platina starting price and ₹84,612 for a Passion Plus base price, along with different power, mileage and weight figures. Its comparison page was not available for full inspection, and the values conflict with the current manufacturer pages. Variant selection, regional updates or page currency may explain the difference. Use the official dealer quotation for your decision, not those secondary figures.

Dealer and service access
Neither cited product page establishes which motorcycle has better service coverage in your town. Ask nearby owners how quickly routine parts are available, how far the authorised workshop is from your home and whether appointment slots fit your schedule. A small difference in purchase price can be outweighed by travel time and lost workdays if service support is inconvenient.
Before booking, identify the nearest authorised workshop for each brand and ask for its opening hours, pickup policy and typical waiting time. Verify that warranty work must be performed at an authorised location and retain invoices. These questions do not produce a universal brand winner, but they can reveal which bike is easier to keep on the road in your area.
Running load and storage
List your real use before choosing: solo commuting, two-up school or office trips, rough rural roads, short errands or occasional intercity travel. The Platina’s larger tank and five-speed gearbox may suit longer or more varied routes, while a Passion Plus buyer may place greater value on i3S and the equipment offered by a chosen variant. Neither source provides luggage capacity, maintenance intervals or long-term reliability data, so request the service schedule and warranty terms from the dealer.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which rider should choose which bike?
- Daily solo city commuter: either can fit the brief. Choose the Platina if its extra output and five-speed feel useful; choose the Passion Plus if i3S and its equipment are more valuable.
- Frequent pillion rider: start with the Platina because its listed torque, larger engine, long seat and wide pillion footpads address this use on paper, then verify comfort with a passenger.
- Buyer who insists on a front disc: inspect the Passion Plus Disc variant and compare its complete on-road price with the Platina model actually available locally.
- Rider covering mixed roads: give the Platina’s five-speed gearbox and 11-litre tank close attention, while still testing suspension and seating on your route.
- Feature-focused buyer: inspect the exact Passion Plus trim for i3S, LED lighting and digital or connected equipment before paying for it.
A practical decision framework
| Your priority | Lean toward | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Larger engine and higher listed output | Platina 110 | 115.06 cc, 9.5 PS and 9.9 Nm are higher than the listed Passion Plus displacement and torque. |
| Five-speed flexibility | Platina 110 | It has five ratios versus four on the Passion Plus. |
| Manufacturer-listed comfort hardware | Platina 110 | SnS rear suspension, long quilted seat and wide pillion footpads are highlighted by Bajaj. |
| Idle stop-start feature | Passion Plus | Hero lists i3S on the Passion Plus. |

What to check before booking
- Write down the exact variant, brake type, colour and model year on both quotations.
- Confirm whether the quoted price is ex-showroom or on-road and which state’s taxes are included.
- Verify the engine, gearbox, tank and equipment details against the manufacturer page for that variant.
- Test ride both motorcycles on a route that includes your normal traffic, speed breakers and parking conditions.
- Repeat the ride with a pillion if you carry one regularly.
- Ask for the warranty, service schedule, roadside-assistance terms and expected maintenance charges in writing.
- Check the dealer’s delivery date, insurance options and refund terms before making a deposit.
- Match the vehicle identification details on the invoice, insurance proposal and registration paperwork.
- Before delivery, inspect the odometer, tyres, lights, controls and paint, and confirm that the promised variant and accessories are fitted.
Final verdict
Choose the Bajaj Platina 110 when your priority is the larger listed engine, 9.5 PS output, 9.9 Nm torque, five-speed gearbox, 11-litre tank and Bajaj’s comfort-focused equipment. Its displayed ₹75,797 ex-showroom Delhi price is a useful reference, but your local on-road total may be different.
Choose the Hero Passion Plus when i3S, a Disc-front option or the digital and connectivity equipment on a particular variant is more valuable to you than extra displacement. Hero’s 70 kmpl figure is a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee of your fuel economy.
There is no universal winner. Match the exact local trims, compare itemised on-road quotes, ride both bikes—preferably with your normal passenger—and then choose the one that fits your route and dealer support best.

Which bike gives better mileage?
The available pages do not establish a winner. Hero lists 70 kmpl for both Passion Plus variants, while the cited Bajaj page does not provide a comparable Platina mileage figure. Actual fuel economy varies with traffic, speed, load, tyre pressure and maintenance.
Does the Passion Plus have a front disc brake?
Hero lists separate Drum and Disc-front Passion Plus variants. Confirm the exact brake hardware and price on the local dealer quotation because equipment can vary by trim and market.
What is the Platina 110 price?
Bajaj’s product page displays ₹75,797 as the starting ex-showroom Delhi price for the Platina 110 Drum. It is not an on-road price, and registration, tax, insurance and dealer charges can change the amount in your city.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Which is better for carrying a pillion?
The Platina is the stronger specification-led starting point because it has the larger engine, higher listed torque, a long quilted seat and wide pillion footpads. Take both bikes on a test ride with your normal passenger before deciding; the cited pages do not provide independent comfort measurements.
Should I choose i3S over the Platina’s larger engine?
Choose i3S if automatic stop-start behavior is valuable on your traffic-heavy route and the exact Passion Plus trim includes it. Choose the Platina if engine size, listed output, five-speed gearing and its highlighted comfort hardware matter more. Demonstrate i3S on the actual motorcycle before booking.
Are the ZigWheels prices and specifications reliable for this comparison?
An indexed ZigWheels result dated September 15, 2026 shows figures that conflict with the current Bajaj and Hero product pages. Variant or page-date differences may explain the conflict, so use the official manufacturer information and a written local dealer quote as the decision references.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: the Platina 110 is the better specification-led choice for riders wanting more displacement, listed output, a five-speed gearbox and passenger-oriented hardware. The Passion Plus makes more sense when i3S, a front-disc variant or its available digital and connected equipment is the priority. Compare identical local trims and test ride both before buying.
