The Platina 100 is the lower-priced option in the available Delhi and comparison-site figures, while the Passion Plus counters with fuel injection, i3S stop-start technology, USB charging, storage and Bluetooth alerts. Both are small-displacement commuter motorcycles with very similar catalog power and claimed mileage. Choose after checking the same-city on-road quote and riding both bikes, preferably with your usual pillion.

What the Platina 100 figure means
Bajaj’s current product page displays ₹72,942 as the Platina 100’s Delhi ex-showroom price. The page also contains inconsistent price modules, so use that visible figure only as a dated reference and confirm the amount with an authorised dealer before booking. It is not an on-road price and does not by itself include registration, insurance or other local charges.

What the Passion Plus figure means
The paired ZigWheels comparison, updated September 16, 2026, lists the Passion Plus at ₹80,328 ex-showroom. Hero’s own information says the on-road price changes with the state and applicable taxes, so a single nationwide total cannot be inferred. The ZigWheels amount is useful for seeing the comparison’s price spread, not for replacing a local quotation.
Use one basis for both motorcycles
Ask the same dealer, or dealers in the same city, for written quotes for the same variant and purchase date. Request an itemised breakdown of:
- Ex-showroom price and the exact model or variant name.
- Registration, road tax and any state-specific charges.
- Insurance provider, policy type, duration and premium.
- Accessories, extended warranty or handling charges that are optional.
- Any discount, exchange benefit or finance fee and its expiry date.
Only after these lines are identical in scope can you say which bike is cheaper on road. If a dealer quotes a materially different ex-showroom amount from the displayed reference, ask for the effective date and a written explanation rather than assuming one website is current.
Engine output and everyday performance
How close are the engines?
The Platina 100 uses a 99.59 cc engine rated by Bajaj at 6.03 kW (8.2 PS) at 7,500 rpm. Hero lists the Passion Plus’s 97.2 cc engine at 5.9 kW at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm at 6,000 rpm. ZigWheels presents the catalog outputs as 8.2 PS and 8.3 Nm for the Platina and 8.02 PS and 8.05 Nm for the Passion Plus.

Those small catalog differences do not establish a winner in acceleration, hill climbing or overtaking. They are measured or listed at particular engine speeds, and the way a motorcycle feels also depends on gearing, load, tyre pressure, traffic and rider technique. The Platina’s slightly larger displacement and listed peak figures may look advantageous on paper, but the available specifications do not include a controlled acceleration test.
Gearing and fuel system
Hero specifies a 4-speed constant-mesh transmission and fuel injection for the Passion Plus. The cited Platina page does not state its complete transmission specification, so it would be misleading to claim a gearing advantage for either bike. During a test ride, check whether the top gear is relaxed at your normal cruising speed and whether downshifts are easy in stop-and-go traffic.
Fuel injection is a stated Passion Plus specification; the supplied Platina information does not establish its fuel-system type. That difference is a specification distinction, not proof that one motorcycle will always start more easily, use less fuel or require less maintenance.

Hero’s product page displays 70 kmpl for the Passion Plus. ZigWheels lists 71 kmpl for the Passion Plus and 70 kmpl for the Platina 100 in its September 16, 2026 comparison. Because the two sources disagree by 1 kmpl for the Hero and neither figure is a controlled comparative road test, do not use the difference as a buying decision on its own.

Your result can vary with traffic density, average speed, gradients, rider and pillion weight, tyre pressure, servicing, weather, fuel quality and how often the engine idles. Record fuel bought and kilometres travelled over several full-tank cycles if you want a meaningful personal figure. Compare both motorcycles on the same route and under similar loads rather than comparing one owner’s number with a brochure claim.
Both motorcycles have an 11-litre tank according to the cited specifications. Tank capacity is not the same as usable range: reserve practice, riding conditions and the point at which you refuel determine how far you actually travel.
Seat, suspension and daily comfort
Platina 100 comfort equipment
Bajaj promotes the Platina 100’s long, soft seat and lists 110 mm spring-in-spring rear suspension. Those features are aimed at absorbing the sharp edges common on urban roads and giving the rider and pillion room to move. Marketing descriptions do not prove that it will be more comfortable for every body shape or road surface, so check seat reach, cushioning and suspension response yourself.

Hero describes the Passion Plus as having a comfortable seat. The brochure gives a 115 kg kerb weight for the drum variant, but the cited material does not provide a directly comparable Platina kerb weight or Passion suspension-travel figure. A heavier or lighter motorcycle can feel different when pushing it, balancing at a stop or changing direction, yet the brochure numbers alone cannot predict comfort.

Make the test ride representative
Ride over the broken patch, speed hump and smooth road that make up your actual commute. Test the clutch in traffic, steering at low speed, braking from several speeds and the ease of getting both feet down. If you regularly carry someone, repeat the ride with a pillion; passenger room, grab-rail position and rear-suspension movement matter more than a showroom sit.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Brakes, tyres and wheels
Passion Plus hardware that is specified
Hero’s brochure specifies alloy wheels, tubeless 80/100-18 tyres and a rear drum brake with IBS for the Passion Plus. “IBS” is the equipment label used in the brochure; the cited material does not provide a full independent braking evaluation or establish stopping-distance performance.
What is not established for the Platina
The available Platina product information highlights the engine, tank, electric start and suspension comfort but does not state a complete brake, wheel and tyre specification in the supplied material. Ask the dealer to show the exact variant’s equipment sheet and inspect the tyre markings on the motorcycle you would receive. Do not assume that an apparently similar trim has identical hardware.
How to judge braking on your ride
- Check lever reach and whether you can apply both controls smoothly.
- Make progressive stops first, then one firm stop in a safe, dry area.
- Notice stability with a pillion if that is your normal use.
- Confirm that the tyres are the stated size and tubeless type where applicable.
These checks tell you how the individual motorcycle fits you; they do not turn a short ride into a certified safety ranking.

Features and convenience
| Daily-use feature | Platina 100 | Passion Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Starting | Electric start is promoted by Bajaj | The cited Hero material does not establish the starting-system description in the same terms |
| Stop-start function | Not stated | i3S is highlighted by Hero |
| Phone charging | Not stated | USB charging |
| Storage | Not stated | Utility storage |
| Connectivity alerts | Not stated | Bluetooth call and SMS alerts |
| Seat description | Long, soft seat | Comfortable seat |
If you want a phone top-up, a place for small items or dashboard alerts, the Passion Plus has the clearer specification advantage. i3S may be useful in frequent stops, but the supplied information does not quantify fuel savings in your traffic. If your priority is a simple commuter with an electric starter and a seat designed for two-up use, the Platina’s stated equipment may be sufficient.
Which bike suits which rider?
Choose the Platina 100 when the lower entry price is decisive
- Your verified local quote keeps it meaningfully cheaper after insurance and registration.
- You value the long, soft seat and the stated 110 mm spring-in-spring rear suspension.
- You want electric start and straightforward commuting equipment rather than phone-oriented features.
- Your route is mostly urban and you do not need a specification advantage that the available data cannot establish.
Choose the Passion Plus when features and specified hardware matter more
- You are willing to pay the local price premium for i3S, USB charging, utility storage and Bluetooth call/SMS alerts.
- You prefer a motorcycle whose brochure explicitly lists fuel injection and a 4-speed constant-mesh gearbox.
- Alloy wheels, tubeless 80/100-18 tyres and a rear drum with IBS are important to your equipment checklist.
- The Passion Plus feels better to you with your normal riding position and pillion during a back-to-back test ride.
When neither has a clear advantage
If the final on-road prices are close, both seats feel acceptable and your commute is ordinary city riding, the catalog power and mileage figures are too similar to settle the choice. Let the dealer’s support, the exact variant, your test-ride comfort and the written quote decide it. The available pages do not support declaring either model universally more reliable, safer or more comfortable.
A practical buying process
- Define the use case. Write down your daily distance, traffic pattern, road quality, typical load and how often you carry a pillion.
- Identify the exact variants. Ask whether the price and equipment sheet refer to the current model year, drum configuration and any colour or trim surcharge.
- Collect same-day quotes. Get itemised ex-showroom, registration, tax, insurance, accessories and finance figures for both motorcycles in the same city.
- Check the specification sheet. Verify engine output, tank capacity, starting system, tyres, brakes and included electronics against the motorcycle on the floor.
- Ride both motorcycles. Use the same route and, where possible, the same rider and pillion. Check low-speed balance, clutch action, gear changes, braking and suspension.
- Confirm delivery terms. Ask for the manufacturing month, warranty terms, included tools and documents, and the date through which the quoted price is valid.
- Recalculate the difference. Compare the final payable totals, not a headline ex-showroom number, before paying a booking amount.
Questions to ask the dealer before booking
- Is this the same variant whose specifications and price were advertised?
- Which charges are mandatory, and which accessories or packages can I remove?
- What insurance coverage and add-ons are included in the quote?
- Does the quoted amount include registration and all state taxes for my address?
- For the Passion Plus, is the quoted motorcycle the brochure’s 115 kg drum variant?
- For the Platina 100, can you confirm the current price because the online page displays inconsistent price modules?
- Can I take a test ride with a pillion before finalising?
Final decision framework
Start with the written, same-city on-road price. If the Platina 100 retains a clear saving and its seat and suspension suit your roads, it is the rational value-focused choice. If the additional cost of the Passion Plus is acceptable and you will use its i3S, USB, storage, Bluetooth alerts, fuel injection and specified tubeless-tyre hardware, those features can justify choosing it. Mileage claims are effectively tied, and the published engine-output gap is too small to prove a road-performance winner. Your final choice should follow the quote and the test ride, not the headline number alone.
