There is no universal winner between the Bajaj CT 110 and TVS Star City Plus. The right choice depends first on which Bajaj motorcycle you are actually being offered, then on same-city on-road prices and the equipment you value. Bajaj’s current official range lists the CT 110X, while comparison listings may still call an older or unspecified model simply the CT 110. Verify the model year, variant and registration details before comparing prices or specifications.
On the available specifications, the CT 110X has the larger engine, more claimed output, a bigger fuel tank and utility-focused tyres. The Star City Plus is lighter and offers a more feature-rich commuter package, including a five-step rear-shock adjustment, LED headlamp, USB charger and synchronized braking. Fuel-economy figures found online are attributed claims, not guaranteed owner results.

First, identify the exact Bajaj model
The name “CT 110” is not precise enough for a purchase decision. Bajaj’s current official CT range page lists the CT 110X at ₹74,930 ex-showroom Delhi. Its official specification page is for the CT 110X, not automatically for every motorcycle advertised as a CT 110.

A third-party CT 110 versus Star City Plus comparison reports a 115 cc Bajaj, 8.48 bhp, 9.81 Nm and 127 kg, but the captured listing does not state the model year or variant. Those figures do not exactly match Bajaj’s current CT 110X listing. Treat them as comparison-page data for an unspecified CT 110, not as confirmed current CT 110X specifications.

Ask the seller to show the registration or invoice description and confirm whether the motorcycle is a CT 110X, an older CT 110, or a different stock year. The same check applies to the Star City Plus, because brake, tyre and equipment details can vary by variant.
At-a-glance specifications
The table separates manufacturer specifications from the third-party comparison figures so that an older CT 110 is not silently treated as a CT 110X.

Power units are not identical: PS and bhp should not be compared as if they were the same label. The CT 110X’s 9.5 PS and the Star City Plus’s 8.08 bhp come from their respective manufacturers under their own specification formats.
Engine and transmission: what the figures mean
CT 110X: the larger-output option on paper
Bajaj lists the CT 110X with a 115.45 cc engine producing 9.5 PS at 7,500 rpm and 9.9 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Relative to the Star City Plus’s displacement and published output, that gives the Bajaj a specification advantage for buyers who prioritize engine size and carrying capacity. It does not establish acceleration, hill-climbing or overtaking performance in every traffic condition; those depend on load, gearing, road grade, tyre condition and the exact motorcycle’s state.
The CT 110X uses a four-speed all-down shift pattern and electric start. Confirm the control layout during a test ride, particularly if you have previously used an all-up commuter gearbox.

Star City Plus: a smaller engine with a lower, earlier torque peak
TVS lists a 109.7 cc ETFi engine making 8.08 bhp at 7,350 rpm and 8.7 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The four-speed constant-mesh gearbox uses an all-up shift pattern. The published torque peak arrives at a lower engine speed than the CT 110X’s stated peak, but published peak numbers alone cannot predict which motorcycle will feel smoother in your usual traffic.
TVS lists a 90 km/h maximum speed. That is a manufacturer specification, not a recommendation to ride at that speed or a guarantee that every road, rider and load will produce it.

The Team-BHP comparison page reports ARAI mileage of 70 kmpl for the CT 110 and 68 kmpl for the Star City Plus. It also shows owner-reported values matching those numbers. The captured result does not explain the test conditions, methodology, model year or variant, so these figures should be treated as that page’s listed data rather than a controlled, current-model test.
TVS separately markets ETFi as delivering “15% more mileage.” That is a manufacturer claim; the captured product information does not define a comparable baseline or real-world test for the claim. It cannot be directly combined with the 70-versus-68-kmpl comparison.
Real fuel use will vary with traffic, speed, payload, tyre pressure, maintenance, fuel quality and riding style. To compare two motorcycles fairly, reset both trip meters, fill them at the same pump, ride a similar route with similar loads, refill to the same level and calculate litres used over distance. Repeat the check over several tanks rather than relying on one short ride. No independent, controlled same-condition mileage test for matching model years is established here.

Equipment and everyday practicality
Lighting and charging
Bajaj’s CT 110X specification lists an LED headlamp. TVS also lists an LED headlamp for the Star City Plus and adds a USB mobile charger. Check whether the charger is fitted and working on the exact motorcycle, and ask where its port is located before buying; equipment can differ by trim or stock year.

Rear suspension adjustment
The Star City Plus has five-step adjustable hydraulic rear shock absorbers according to TVS. This allows a dealer or owner to select among the available preload positions for different loads or road conditions, although adjustment does not turn the motorcycle into a different class of suspension. The CT 110X specification supplied here does not list an equivalent five-step adjustment.
Instruments and commuter information
TVS lists a service reminder and econometer in the Star City Plus instrument console. These are convenience aids: the reminder helps you notice scheduled maintenance, while an econometer indicates riding conditions associated with economical use. They do not replace the owner’s manual or a measured fuel-use calculation.
Tank capacity and carrying use
The CT 110X has an 11-litre tank, one litre more than the Star City Plus’s 10-litre tank. A larger tank can reduce refuelling frequency, but the number of kilometres between stops still depends on actual consumption. Do not convert the tank difference into a promised range without a verified mileage figure.
Weight, clearance and tyre setup
Bajaj lists the CT 110X at 124 kg kerb weight and 170 mm ground clearance. TVS lists the Star City Plus at 115 kg with a drum front brake and 116 kg with a disc front brake, along with 172 mm ground clearance. On paper, the TVS is 8–9 kg lighter than the CT 110X, which may matter when manoeuvring in a parking area, pushing the motorcycle or making low-speed U-turns. Your own reach, balance and the motorcycle’s fuel level are more useful than the numbers alone, so perform those manoeuvres during a test ride.

The CT 110X uses tube-type semi-knobby tyres in Bajaj’s specification. TVS’s older official Star City Plus brochure records tubeless tyres, while the current product page should be checked for the exact variant. Confirm the tyre sidewall marking and whether a tube is fitted before assuming puncture-repair requirements or carrying a particular spare.
Braking choices and safety equipment
The CT 110X specification lists a 130 mm front drum and 110 mm rear drum with CBS. TVS offers the Star City Plus with either a drum or disc front brake and lists a 110 mm synchronized rear drum. Select the variant based on the actual brake hardware shown on the motorcycle and invoice, not only the model name.
CBS and TVS’s SBT are braking-assistance systems, but their operation and control feel should be learned during the first ride. Ask the dealer to demonstrate the recommended braking technique, test the lever and pedal for a firm response in a safe area, and inspect the brake condition on any older or display motorcycle.

Bajaj’s current CT range page shows ₹74,930 ex-showroom Delhi for the CT 110X. That is not an on-road quote, does not include registration, insurance or other local charges, and is not necessarily the price of an older motorcycle called CT 110.

Request written, same-day on-road quotations for the exact CT 110X or CT 110 stock and the exact Star City Plus trim in your city. Ask each dealer to itemize:
- Ex-showroom price and any current manufacturer revision.
- Registration and road-tax charges.
- Insurance premium and policy type.
- Accessories, handling or documentation fees.
- Any discount, exchange adjustment or finance-related charge.
Compare the final payable totals, not an ex-showroom number from one city against an on-road number from another.
Which motorcycle suits which rider?
Choose the CT 110X when these priorities dominate
- You want the current Bajaj CT model with the larger 115.45 cc specification, 9.5 PS and 9.9 Nm figures.
- An 11-litre tank is useful for your regular commuting pattern.
- You prefer the CT 110X’s tube-type semi-knobby tyre specification and utility-oriented setup.
- The local on-road quote is competitive after matching insurance, registration and variant equipment.
- You have confirmed that the seller is offering a CT 110X rather than an older, differently specified CT 110.
Choose the Star City Plus when these priorities dominate
- Lower kerb weight is important for parking, frequent stops or a rider who prefers a lighter-feeling commuter.
- You want the listed LED headlamp, USB charger, service reminder and econometer together.
- Five-step rear-shock adjustment is valuable because you regularly alternate between solo and passenger loads.
- You prefer a choice between a front drum and front disc variant.
- The local Star City Plus on-road quote and dealer support are better for the exact trim you can buy.
When neither specification sheet decides it
If the prices are close and your use is ordinary city commuting, ride both motorcycles back to back. Pay attention to clutch take-up, first-gear response, shift effort, handlebar reach, seat support, mirror visibility, vibration, low-speed balance and brake feel. These impressions are personal and cannot be inferred reliably from displacement or peak-output figures.

- Write down the identity. Record the exact model name, variant, manufacturing year, colour and vehicle identification details. On the Bajaj side, explicitly record CT 110 or CT 110X.
- Match the hardware to the quote. Check the front brake type, rear brake, tyre construction, headlamp, charger and instrument functions against the written quotation.
- Test the controls. Operate the starter, indicators, horn, headlamp modes, gear pattern and brakes while stationary, then repeat the checks in a safe low-speed area.
- Ride your normal route if possible. Include a congested section, a speed breaker, a turn requiring a U-turn and a short open stretch. Do not treat the listed 90 km/h maximum as a target.
- Check load behaviour. If you normally carry a passenger, ask whether a passenger ride is permitted and assess rear-suspension response. On the Star City Plus, note the available five-step preload positions.
- Compare ergonomics. Confirm that both feet, the side stand and the centre stand are manageable for you. Check whether the mirrors remain useful after adjusting your riding position.
- Get complete costs. Obtain itemized on-road quotations for both exact variants, including registration, insurance and every fee.
- Verify delivery documents. Match the invoice, temporary or permanent registration details, warranty paperwork and owner’s manual to the motorcycle you inspected.
- Plan your own mileage check. After delivery, record fuel quantity and distance over multiple refills rather than accepting a brochure or comparison-page number as a guarantee.
Bottom line for the CT 110 versus Star City Plus decision
Use the CT 110X as the Bajaj reference only after confirming that it is the motorcycle being sold. Its published advantages are the 115.45 cc engine, 9.5 PS, 9.9 Nm, 11-litre tank and utility-focused equipment. The Star City Plus counters with a lighter 115–116 kg kerb weight, 172 mm clearance, LED lighting, USB charging, five-step rear-shock adjustment and a front-brake choice.
Because the Bajaj price shown is ex-showroom Delhi, the TVS price is location-dependent, and the mileage comparison does not establish a controlled current-model result, the defensible verdict is conditional: buy the exact variant that gives you the better local on-road value and the control layout, braking hardware, weight and features you prefer after a back-to-back test ride.
