Those are manufacturer figures, not results from a controlled, same-route test. Bajaj CT 110X, not every historical CT 110
Bajaj Auto’s current India catalogue uses the name CT 110X. Older advertisements, used-bike listings and comparison pages may shorten that to “CT 110” or refer to an earlier version. A used or old-stock CT 110 can have different equipment, pricing and registration details. Ask the dealer to write the complete model name and model year on the quotation and insurance proposal.

Hero Splendor+ and trim confirmation
The specifications below come from Hero MotoCorp’s current Splendor+ product page. Hero displays alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, telescopic front suspension and a five-step adjustable hydraulic rear shock absorber for the page’s shown variant. Splendor+ versions can differ, so verify that the trim you are buying includes each item rather than assuming it is standard across the range.
What “better” means for a commuter
For this class of motorcycle, “better” is a decision rather than a laboratory ranking. Separate the questions: Which has the higher published output? Which has the manufacturer’s mileage claim? Which exact bike is cheaper on-road in your city? Which one feels comfortable at your seat height and route speed? Which dealer can supply parts and service when you need them? The available specifications answer only the first two questions directly.

These are published specifications, not measurements taken on the same road or with the same test equipment. A larger displacement or higher peak output does not, by itself, prove a shorter overtaking time, a higher top speed, or better fuel use in traffic.

CT 110X output
Bajaj lists the CT 110X with a 115.45 cc engine producing 6.99 kW (9.5 PS) at 7,500 rpm and 9.9 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Its torque peak arrives at a lower engine speed than the Splendor+ figure, but the published numbers alone cannot tell you how either motorcycle responds in every gear, how smooth it feels with two riders, or how it performs on a particular gradient.

Splendor+ output
Hero lists the Splendor+ at 97.2 cc, 5.9 kW at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The page also identifies a 4-speed constant-mesh transmission. The lower displacement and peak figures may suit a buyer who values a familiar, straightforward commuter specification, but acceleration, vibration and hill performance still need a ride in your normal conditions.
How to use the numbers without over-reading them
- Use the published output as a paper advantage for the CT 110X, not as a guaranteed road-performance result.
- Check how easily each bike starts, turns and pulls away at low speed during a test ride.
- Repeat the ride with the load you normally carry, where the dealer permits it, because a solo ride can hide differences that matter with a passenger or delivery bag.
- Listen for gear-change feel and note whether the riding position lets you keep a relaxed throttle on your actual route.
Mileage: the number needs its qualification
Hero’s current product page advertises “70 kmpl with E20 fuel.” Treat that as Hero’s claim for the Splendor+, not as a verified everyday result and not as proof that it will beat the CT 110X in your commute. The current catalogue material provides no official CT 110X mileage claim and no controlled, same-route comparison for the two current variants.
Why your result can differ
Traffic density, average speed, idling, tyre pressure, rider and passenger weight, road gradient, weather, service condition and fuel quality all affect consumption. A short ride around a dealership is especially poor evidence because the engine may spend much of the time accelerating and stopping.

- Use the same fuel station and, if possible, the same E20 petrol grade for both bikes.
- Fill each tank to the same practical point, reset the trip meter and record the date, odometer and rider/load.
- Ride a repeatable route that represents your week: include the same proportion of traffic, open road and stops.
- Keep speed, tyre pressures and luggage as consistent as safety allows. Do not alter riding behaviour to create a favourable number.
- Refill at the same station and point. Divide kilometres travelled by litres added to calculate kmpl.
- Repeat for at least two fuel cycles before drawing a conclusion; one refill can be distorted by the pump shut-off or a different route.
Report the result as your test under named conditions. Do not rewrite it as a universal mileage figure for every Splendor+ or CT 110X.
Price: compare matching quotes, not isolated internet numbers
Current official listing
Bajaj’s current catalogue lists the CT 110X at ₹74,930 ex-showroom. This is an ex-showroom figure, so it excludes registration, insurance, taxes or other on-road charges that apply in your location and on the date you buy.
Why the third-party snapshots do not settle the result
A Team-BHP comparison page displayed ₹68.32K for “CT 110” and ₹79.43K for “Splendor Plus Drum.” The page does not align those labels with the current CT 110X catalogue name, and its publication or update year was not stated on the page. Use those figures only as a historical or secondary snapshot, not as a current, like-for-like quotation.
Build your real on-road comparison
- Ask both dealers for a dated, itemised quotation for the exact variant and model year.
- Keep the comparison on the same basis: ex-showroom, insurance type, registration jurisdiction, accessories and any extended warranty should be shown separately.
- Check whether a displayed discount is a temporary exchange, finance or stock-clearance offer that you do not qualify for.
- Confirm the final amount payable, delivery date and refund terms before making a booking payment.
- Save the quotation with the vehicle identification details so a revised invoice can be challenged.
The lower sticker price can disappear once insurance, registration and optional equipment are added. Conversely, a dealer offer can make a higher-listed motorcycle cheaper on-road in one city and not in another.

What the Splendor+ page establishes
For the displayed Splendor+ variant, Hero lists a 9.8-litre tank, 112 kg kerb weight, 165 mm ground clearance and a 785 mm saddle height. It also lists alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, telescopic front suspension and five-step adjustable hydraulic rear shock absorbers. These figures help you check physical fit: stand over the motorcycle, place both feet as you would at a signal and assess whether the suspension setting can be adjusted for your usual load.
What is not established for the CT 110X here
The compared catalogue material does not provide CT 110X gearbox, tank, kerb-weight, ground-clearance or saddle-height figures. Do not fill those gaps with an older CT 110 brochure or a different trim. Measure your reach and comfort on the actual motorcycle at the dealer, and ask for the current technical sheet if a dimension is decisive for you.
Route and load checklist
- Dense city traffic: prioritise easy low-speed balance, a controllable clutch and a seat that lets you plant your feet confidently.

How to test ride both motorcycles properly
- Start with a cold inspection. Check the vehicle identification, model name, tyre condition, controls, lamps, mirrors and visible leaks. Confirm that the quoted equipment is fitted.
- Set your position. Adjust mirrors, sit in your normal footwear and note reach to the bars, clutch and rear brake. Ask the salesperson to explain any adjustable rear-suspension setting.
- Ride the same loop. Include a stop-start section, a smooth road, a turn, a speed breaker and a safe stretch where you can hold a steady legal speed.
- Test low-speed control. Make tight turns and controlled stops. Note steering weight, clutch progression and whether your feet reach the ground comfortably.
- Test usable response, not maximum speed. Observe pull-away and roll-on response at ordinary traffic speeds. Never use public roads to chase a top-speed result.
- Repeat with your usual load. If a passenger cannot join, carry the same permitted luggage on both rides and record the limitation in your notes.
- Write the result immediately. Record comfort, heat, vibration, braking confidence, visibility and any control you disliked. Memory becomes unreliable after several dealership rides.
Pitfalls that produce a bad comparison
Mixing model generations
Calling the current CT 110X simply “CT 110” can combine an old price or feature list with a current engine specification. The same problem occurs when a used Splendor+ listing is compared with a new-bike quote. Match model year, trim and registration status.

The Splendor+ 70 kmpl statement is promotional product-page copy. It is useful context for a mileage-focused buyer, but it is not a controlled comparison. Do not average it with an unverified CT number or present either as guaranteed consumption.

Comparing ex-showroom and on-road amounts
An ex-showroom CT 110X price cannot be fairly compared with a Splendor+ invoice that includes registration and insurance. Put every charge in separate columns and compare the final payable total.
Assuming listed equipment is universal
Hero’s wheel, tyre and suspension details apply to the variant displayed on its page. Confirm the trim code on the motorcycle and invoice. Do not transfer those features to every Splendor+ version, and do not infer missing CT 110X specifications from a different Bajaj model.
Ignoring support after delivery
A small purchase-price difference can matter less than repeated travel to a distant workshop. Before booking, locate the authorised service point you would actually use, ask how appointments and parts orders work, and confirm the dealer can supply the selected variant.
A practical ownership-budget method
You can estimate fuel spending without pretending to know a universal mileage figure. Record your own tested kmpl, then use:
fuel cost per month = monthly kilometres ÷ measured kmpl × local petrol price
Keep the local petrol price and kilometres dated because both change. Add insurance renewal, registration-related charges, routine service and consumables from the dealer’s written schedule rather than borrowing costs from a different city or model year. If you have not measured both motorcycles under the same conditions, show a range based on your observed results instead of selecting a winner from the brochure claim.
Who should choose which?
CT 110X is the more logical shortlist when…
- You want the higher published power and torque figures and are willing to validate how that translates to your route.
- Your commute includes inclines, frequent two-up riding or loads where you value the larger listed displacement.
- Your local dealer’s dated on-road quotation is competitive after insurance and registration.
- The riding position, controls and actual trim feel right during a test ride.
Splendor+ is the more logical shortlist when…
- You place substantial weight on Hero’s advertised 70 kmpl with E20 fuel and will track your own consumption realistically.
- The listed 112 kg kerb weight, 785 mm saddle height or 9.8-litre tank suits your body and routine.
- You prefer the specifications shown for its 4-speed constant-mesh transmission and displayed wheel, tyre and suspension equipment.
- Your nearby dealer can offer the exact variant at a better final on-road price or provide more convenient service.
Final buying rule
Do not choose from the names alone. Take the current CT 110X quotation and the exact Splendor+ quotation to the same decision sheet, verify the trim equipment, ride both on a representative route and record your own fuel results over repeated refills. The CT 110X wins the published-output comparison; the Splendor+ has the explicit manufacturer mileage claim. The motorcycle that best fits your route, body, budget and local support is the better commuter for you.
