Bajaj Chetak vs Okinawa Dual 100: Which Electric Scooter Fits Your Route?

Bajaj Chetak and Okinawa Dual 100 specifications vary by trim and source. Compare current price snapshots, conflicting range claims, warranty limits, charging logistics and local service before choosing.

There is no universal winner between the Bajaj Chetak and Okinawa Dual 100. The right choice depends on the exact Chetak trim, your city’s on-road quote, daily distance, charging access, written battery warranty and the authorised workshop you can actually reach. Bajaj currently sells several Chetak series, while published comparison pages show materially different Dual 100 range figures.

For a budget-led purchase, a base Chetak can cost less on some comparison snapshots. For maximum claimed distance, the Dual 100 may look stronger on one listing, but another publisher reports almost the same range as the Chetak. Treat every price and range below as a dated, source-attributed claim—not as an independent road test or a final quotation.

What the comparison actually means

“Bajaj Chetak” is a family of scooters, not one current specification. Bajaj’s live product page lists Series 25, Series 30 and Series 35, with individual choices including C2501, C3001, C3501, C3502 and C3503. Comparing an unnamed Chetak with the Dual 100 can therefore produce a misleading result: battery size, equipment, price and warranty may change with the selected trim.

The Okinawa Dual 100 is a single model name in the comparison material, but even its claimed range is inconsistent between major Indian comparison publishers. That is why the sensible buying question is not “Which badge is better?” It is “Which exact scooter, at what local on-road price, with what written terms, can complete my route and be supported near my home?”

Price and variant check

Bajaj’s current starting prices

Bajaj’s live product page, accessed in 2026, lists these starting amounts:

Chetak series Battery capacity Starting price shown by Bajaj What the figure means
Series 25 2.5 kWh ₹95,802 Manufacturer starting amount; city-specific on-road cost is higher and must be confirmed
Series 30 3.0 kWh ₹1,14,270 Manufacturer starting amount; exact trim and local charges affect the final amount
Series 35 3.5 kWh ₹1,24,157 Manufacturer starting amount; confirm the chosen C3501, C3502 or C3503 configuration

These are not interchangeable scooters. A Series 25 comparison against a Series 35 changes the battery-capacity and price question before the Dual 100 is even considered. Use Bajaj’s location-based on-road-price and dealer process for your city, then request a written quotation that identifies the exact model code.

Published comparison snapshots

Two live comparison pages provide different snapshots. BikeWale lists a base Chetak at ₹1,07,626 and the Dual 100 at ₹1,19,085. The page labels these as displayed average ex-showroom figures and defaults to base versions, not negotiated on-road prices. BikeDekho lists the Chetak C3001 at ₹1,11,006 ex-showroom and the Dual 100 at ₹1,19,085.

Range: the biggest published disagreement

What each source claims

BikeWale lists claimed ranges of 127 km for the Chetak and 149 km for the Dual 100. BikeDekho lists 127 km for the Chetak C3001 and 129 km for the Dual 100. The 20-km difference between the two Dual 100 listings is too large to ignore.

Publisher (accessed 2026) Chetak claimed range Dual 100 claimed range How to use it
BikeWale 127 km 149 km Publisher listing; not an independently measured road test
BikeDekho 127 km 129 km Publisher listing; not an independently measured road test

Neither figure should be promised as the distance you will achieve. Actual range changes with rider and pillion weight, speed, traffic, gradients, tyre pressure, temperature, payload, riding mode and battery condition. The two pages may also be referring to different model-year data or test conventions. Before paying, ask the dealer to identify the exact Dual 100 variant and the test standard behind the displayed number.

How to translate a claim into a route decision

Write down your longest normal day, not just your one-way commute. Include the return trip, an unplanned detour and a reserve for weather or traffic. If your round trip is 50 km, a claimed 127 km leaves a much larger nominal margin than a 90 km round trip. That margin shrinks in fast traffic or on hills, so a rider with no opportunity to charge at work should be more conservative than a rider who can recharge midway.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Measure your route with the same start and end points you will use after purchase.
  • Separate weekday distance from occasional highway or hill trips; a scooter that suits the former may need public charging or a different vehicle for the latter.
  • Ask for a demonstration ride with the intended load and note the starting battery percentage, route length and ending percentage. This is an observation for your decision, not a certified range test.
  • Keep the written range claim and the exact variant on the quotation so a salesperson’s verbal promise cannot replace the specification sheet.

Battery, charging and daily logistics

The evidence available for this matchup does not establish directly comparable current charging-time figures, charger arrangements or battery-portability details for the exact Chetak and Dual 100 variants. Do not fill that gap with a generic model-year claim. Ask the seller to demonstrate the actual supplied charger and answer these questions in writing:

  • What is the battery capacity of the exact scooter being invoiced?
  • Is the charger included, and what electrical outlet, current rating and cable length does it require?
  • Can the battery be removed by the owner, or must the scooter be parked near a socket?
  • What charging time applies from the stated low-battery level to full, and under what conditions?
  • Is charging at a workplace, apartment parking bay or public point permitted and safe?
  • What happens if the charger, battery-management system or charge connector fails?

Bajaj’s January 4, 2024 announcement for the then-current Chetak Premium 2024 specified a 3.2 kWh battery and an onboard 800 W charger. It also stated a 127 km ARAI-certified range. Those are dated Premium 2024 specifications, not a substitute for the current Series 25, 30 or 35 specification. Confirm whether the scooter offered to you is that model or a later trim before using those numbers for a purchase decision.

Charging scenarios

Your situation What to verify first Likely buying implication
Private parking with a nearby socket Included charger, cable reach, outlet load and charging schedule Either scooter can be practical if the exact charging instructions fit your electrical setup
Apartment parking without a socket Permission for a dedicated point and whether the battery is owner-removable Choose only after the building and dealer provide a workable written arrangement
Workplace charging available Allowed charging hours and connector access A lower claimed range may still cover your route if a reliable mid-day charge exists
No dependable charging at home or work Public-charging availability on your actual route and recovery plan Do not buy on range claims alone; charging access becomes the deciding constraint

Performance and speed context

BikeWale lists Chetak power at 3.1 kW and Dual 100 power at 3 kW. Those figures are close and do not by themselves predict acceleration, hill performance or loaded range. Motor output, controller calibration, kerb weight, tyre choice, riding mode and battery state also matter. Arrange a ride on the gradients and road surfaces you use, carrying the load you normally carry.

Bajaj’s January 2024 Premium announcement gave that dated version a 73 km/h top speed. It is not a confirmed top speed for every current Chetak series. The material reviewed here does not establish a directly comparable current Dual 100 top-speed figure, so do not infer a winner from a missing number.

Warranty: compare years and kilometres together

BikeWale lists a battery warranty of three years or 50,000 km for the Chetak and three years or 30,000 km for the Dual 100. “Or” means the applicable limit can be reached by either elapsed time or distance, so a high-mileage rider may exhaust the kilometre cap first. Verify the exact terms for your vehicle, buyer location and invoice date before relying on the comparison listing.

Published comparison listing Time limit Distance limit Buying question
Chetak battery 3 years 50,000 km Does the written warranty for your exact trim retain both limits?
Dual 100 battery 3 years 30,000 km Which exclusions, inspection conditions and claim process apply?

Bajaj states that warranty repair or replacement, including battery replacement, is at the company’s discretion. Its terms also say replacement capacity considers the battery’s capacity immediately before failure. Read the complete warranty booklet for exclusions, authorised-service requirements, damage or water-related conditions, transfer rules and documentation. Keep service invoices and do not assume that a battery showing reduced range automatically qualifies for a full replacement.

Warranty questions to put on the order form

  1. Write the battery, vehicle, charger and major electronic-component coverage separately.
  2. Record both the calendar duration and kilometre cap, including which one ends coverage first.
  3. Ask how battery health is measured and what threshold constitutes a warrantable failure.
  4. Confirm whether servicing must be performed at an authorised workshop and how missed service intervals affect claims.
  5. Ask who pays for diagnosis, transport and labour when a warranty claim is rejected or approved.
  6. Obtain the final terms with the exact model code and retain them with the invoice.

Service access matters more than the logo

The available material does not establish comparable local workshop coverage, parts availability or owner-service experience for both brands. Do not infer service superiority from a national reputation or a single outlet count. An electric scooter can be inexpensive to run yet inconvenient if the nearest authorised technician is far away or a model-specific part is unavailable.

Dealer and workshop checklist

  • Locate the authorised workshop you would use for both scooters, not just the showroom.
  • Ask whether the workshop currently services the exact model and battery generation.
  • Request typical booking lead time for a diagnostic visit and common consumables.
  • Ask how a scooter is transported if it cannot power on.
  • Confirm where replacement batteries and chargers are ordered and whether stock is held locally.
  • Speak with the service adviser, not only the sales representative, about software updates and fault logging.

Stock is also city- and date-sensitive. A scooter shown online may not be available in your colour or trim, and a dealer may quote an older model-year vehicle. Match the VIN or model code on the booking form to the specification you compared.

Which one should you choose?

Choose a Chetak when these conditions fit

  • You can obtain a competitive local quote for the specific Series 25, 30 or 35 trim you actually want.
  • The selected battery size and claimed range cover your route with a realistic reserve.
  • The nearby authorised workshop gives you better practical access than the Dual 100 option.
  • You value the possibility of the 50,000-km battery limit shown in the BikeWale comparison, subject to written confirmation.
  • You are comparing against the current scooter, not assuming that the dated Premium 2024 specification applies to every Chetak.

Choose the Dual 100 when these conditions fit

  • The dealer can document the exact variant, current battery specification and charging arrangement.
  • Its local on-road price is competitive after insurance, registration and any applicable incentives.
  • Your route benefits from the higher 149 km claim shown by BikeWale, while you understand that BikeDekho lists 129 km instead.
  • The authorised workshop and parts path near you are demonstrably workable.
  • The written three-year/30,000-km battery terms suit your annual distance and usage pattern.

Do not decide yet when any of these are unresolved

  • You are comparing a base Chetak price with a higher Chetak trim or an unspecified Dual 100.
  • The dealer will not provide an on-road breakup or written warranty terms.
  • You cannot charge at home, work or an approved public point.
  • The Dual 100 range is being presented as 149 km without explaining why another listing says 129 km.
  • No authorised workshop is reachable within a distance you can manage for routine service or a breakdown.

A practical purchase process

  1. Name the Chetak. Record Series 25, 30 or 35 and the individual model code, then record the exact Dual 100 variant offered.
  2. Get matching quotes. Request same-day, city-specific on-road prices with ex-showroom amount, registration, insurance, taxes, accessories and discounts separated.
  3. Verify the battery and charger. Photograph the specification sheet and write down capacity, charger type, charging instructions and any portability limitation.
  4. Check your route. Calculate the longest round trip and identify where a dependable charge is available if needed.
  5. Ride both. Test low-speed balance, braking, traffic acceleration, hill starts, parking manoeuvres and pillion comfort with a realistic load.
  6. Visit service departments. Confirm workshop location, booking process, diagnostic support, parts ordering and breakdown recovery.
  7. Read warranty terms. Compare years, kilometres, exclusions, battery-health criteria and claim procedure; do not rely on a salesperson’s summary.
  8. Recheck delivery identity. At handover, match the invoice, VIN, model code, battery details and charger to the quotation.

Bottom line for Indian buyers

The Chetak is the safer starting point if a clearly identified trim, a suitable local quote and accessible authorised support matter more than a single headline range number. The Dual 100 is worth choosing when its exact specification, charging plan and service support are documented and its price makes sense for your route. Published range figures do not establish a winner: BikeWale shows 149 km for the Dual 100, while BikeDekho shows 129 km, and neither is an independent real-world test.

Make the decision with the written on-road quote, the exact battery and charger details, the warranty’s year-and-kilometre limits and the workshop you can reach. Those four checks tell you more about ownership than the model names alone.
