Short answer: choose the Bajaj Chetak if you want a conventional electric scooter, useful under-seat storage and a published charging figure for the current 30 Series. Choose the Odysse Evoqis if you specifically want a motorcycle layout, an 80 km/h top-speed claim and a 3,000 W motor (4,300 W peak). Their headline ranges—up to 127 km for the Chetak 30 Series and up to 140 km for Evoqis—come from different manufacturer pages, not a matched independent test, so the better buy depends on your riding format, exact variant, route, charging access and local dealer support.
This comparison applies to the India market and information available on 13 October 2026. Prices, stock and specifications can change by city and variant.

Chetak and Evoqis are not direct format substitutes
Bajaj positions Chetak as an electric scooter, while Odysse describes Evoqis as an electric motorcycle. That distinction affects how you sit, mount the vehicle, carry items and use it in traffic. A scooter’s step-through design and enclosed floor area usually suit riders who value easy mounting and daily utility. A motorcycle-style frame and foot-peg position appeal to riders who prefer a more conventional geared-bike stance, even when the powertrain is electric.
Neither format is automatically superior. If you regularly carry a pillion, groceries or a laptop, inspect the actual floorboard, seat and storage arrangement on the exact vehicle. If you ride longer, faster roads, check how comfortable the motorcycle ergonomics feel at your normal speed. A test ride should come before comparing small differences in claimed range.

Published specifications at a glance
The table reflects the current official product pages where available. “Up to” figures are manufacturer claims, not independently measured results. The Odysse page warns that specifications, prices and availability may change; confirm the final configuration with an authorised dealer.

The Chetak figures above are specific to the 30 Series page; they should not be copied to every Chetak sold under a different series or model year. Likewise, do not combine the main Evoqis page with the separate Evoqis Lite listing, which advertises a different 90 km range and 75 km/h top speed.
Range: 127 km versus 140 km is not a road test
On paper, Evoqis has the higher maximum: up to 140 km, compared with up to 127 km for the Chetak 30 Series. Those numbers are useful for identifying the manufacturers’ positioning, but they do not tell you which vehicle will travel farther on your commute. Battery state, rider mass, speed, traffic, gradients, tyre pressure, temperature and use of acceleration all change consumption.

Treat each number as a best-case or specified-cycle claim from its own manufacturer. If your daily round trip is 60 km, leave a practical reserve rather than planning to use the entire advertised figure. A route with sustained 60–80 km/h travel will generally demand more energy than a slower urban trip, but the manufacturer pages do not provide a quantified correction factor.
What the Chetak number means
Bajaj’s current 30 Series page lists a 3.0 kWh battery and up to 127 km of range. The page does not establish the test cycle or conditions in the published product information, so do not treat 127 km as a guaranteed distance in mixed traffic. Its 35-litre storage figure is a separate utility advantage for riders who carry a helmet or small bags.
What the Evoqis number means
Odysse lists up to 140 km for Evoqis, alongside an 80 km/h top-speed claim. The product page does not provide a matched test protocol or a real-world range result. If you are considering the Evoqis Lite, use its own advertised 90 km range and 75 km/h top speed rather than the main Evoqis values; the Lite page’s descriptive copy also repeats broader Evoqis claims, so verify the exact variant in writing.

Charging and battery planning
The Chetak 30 Series is the only one of the two with a charging duration stated in the current product information: zero to 80% in 3 hours 50 minutes using an off-board charger. “Off-board” means the charging unit is separate from the scooter rather than permanently built into it; confirm where you will store and plug that unit.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe main Evoqis page does not state a charge time. Ask a dealer for the supplied charger type, input requirement, expected zero-to-full and partial-charge times, and whether a replacement charger is available locally. Do not infer Evoqis charging performance from its 72V system voltage or from another model.
Questions to settle before paying
- Can the charger reach your parking space without an extension arrangement that the manufacturer prohibits?
- Is charging from a normal domestic socket supported, and what circuit protection is required?
- What warranty applies to the battery, charger and motor, and what exclusions cover water, accident damage or prolonged storage?
- How long will the dealer take to diagnose a charging fault?
These practical answers can outweigh a 13 km difference between two headline range claims.
Performance and route suitability
Evoqis publishes the more detailed performance specification: a 3,000 W motor, 4,300 W peak power, 64 Nm torque and an 80 km/h top speed. It also offers City, Sports, Parking and Reverse modes. City mode can be useful for smoother low-speed control, while Sports is intended for stronger response; the page does not quantify acceleration in either mode. Parking and Reverse may help with manoeuvring, but practise them in a clear area because mode behaviour can vary by software version.
The 30 Series page does not state Chetak motor output, torque or top speed in the published product information. That is not evidence that it is underpowered; it means a numerical performance comparison would be speculative. Use a test ride to judge launch response, hill performance with a passenger and stability at the speeds you actually use.

Urban commuting
For dense city streets, frequent stops and tight parking, the Chetak’s scooter format is likely to be the easier starting point for riders who value a flat step-through approach and storage. Confirm the actual floorboard clearance and seat height for your body size. Evoqis can still work well in town if you prefer motorcycle ergonomics, but its 80 km/h capability may be unnecessary if your routes are mostly slow traffic.

Outer-ring roads and faster connectors
Evoqis’s published 80 km/h top speed and motorcycle format make it the more natural candidate for riders who routinely use faster connectors where that speed is legal and safe. Check local road rules and wind exposure, and test the bike with your usual riding gear. Do not assume the Chetak is unsuitable for every faster road simply because its 30 Series page omits a top-speed figure; obtain the exact variant specification from Bajaj or a dealer.
Storage, carrying and everyday practicality
The Chetak 30 Series lists 35 litres of storage, a concrete advantage for errands and commuting. Ask whether that quoted capacity is under-seat volume, how much is usable with the charger present, and whether your helmet fits before ordering. A showroom measurement with your own helmet and bag is more useful than litres alone.
The main Evoqis page does not state a storage capacity. Inspect the space under the seat, the ability to add a top box without exceeding the manufacturer’s load limits, and where a passenger’s belongings can go. Motorcycle-style designs often require a backpack or external luggage, which changes comfort and security in daily use.

Official sources do not provide one directly comparable, current ex-showroom price for the exact Chetak 30 Series and Evoqis versions. Prices vary by city, registration costs, insurance, accessories, finance and stock. Request an itemised on-road quotation for the exact variant and compare the same inclusions.
| Price reference | What it says | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Chetak C25 launch, 14 January 2026 | ₹91,399 ex-showroom Bengaluru for a 2.5 kWh model with up to 113 km range | Launch pricing for C25, not the 30 Series; verify current availability. Source: Bajaj Auto announcement. |

| Secondary comparison, 8 August 2026 | ZigWheels listed Chetak base at ₹1.19 lakh and Evoqis at ₹1.18 lakh, with claimed ranges of 131 km and 90 km | Exact variants are unclear and figures conflict with current official pages. Use only as dated context: comparison page. |
The C25 is not interchangeable with the 30 Series: it has a 2.5 kWh battery and up to 113 km claimed range. Likewise, the dated third-party figures should not override the current official 30 Series and Evoqis pages. A dealer quote dated the day you buy is the meaningful price.
Build an apples-to-apples quote
- Write down the exact model and variant, including whether it is Chetak C25, Chetak 30 Series or Evoqis Lite.
- Request ex-showroom price, registration, insurance, handling or documentation charges, accessories and finance fees as separate lines.
- Ask which offers are conditional, how many units qualify and when each offer expires.
- Compare total on-road cost and included charger or accessories, not just the headline number.
Dealer, service and test-ride checks
Service quality and parts access are local questions that the published specifications cannot answer. Odysse provides dealer and test-ride pathways through its vehicle listings, while Bajaj’s Chetak site directs buyers to its product and retail network. Use those official pathways to locate the nearest outlet, then call before travelling because availability can change.

- Ask whether the exact variant is physically available for a test ride.
- Confirm the address and opening hours of the workshop that will handle warranty work.
- Ask how battery diagnostics are performed and whether a loan vehicle or pickup service exists.
- Check the expected wait for consumables, brake parts, body panels and chargers.
- Get warranty duration, roadside assistance and transfer conditions in writing.
Ride both vehicles on a route containing a speed breaker, a tight turn, a hill or ramp and a stretch at your normal cruising speed. Test with a passenger only if the dealer permits it. Pay attention to reach to the controls, mirror visibility, stand effort, reverse-mode behaviour and where you will put your helmet.
Variant discipline: avoid mixing Chetak and Evoqis numbers
Chetak is a family of products, not one fixed specification. The 30 Series page supports 3.0 kWh, up to 127 km, 35 litres and 3 hours 50 minutes to 80% with an off-board charger. The separately announced C25 uses a 2.5 kWh battery, up to 113 km and a launch price of ₹91,399 ex-showroom in Bengaluru; the retail notice also gave the same Delhi ex-showroom figure and a limited ₹4,299 early-bird benefit.
Odysse’s Evoqis Lite page advertises up to 90 km and 75 km/h, while its descriptive text mixes in the broader Evoqis 140 km and 80 km/h claims. That inconsistency is a reason to request a variant-specific specification sheet and invoice description. Never rely on a salesperson’s shorthand “Evoqis” or “Chetak” when the model code is available.
Decision guide: which one fits your priorities?
Choose the Chetak 30 Series when
- You want a scooter rather than a motorcycle.
- 35 litres of published storage is important for your daily items.
- You need a stated zero-to-80% charging time for planning, and an off-board charger suits your parking setup.
- The 3.0 kWh, up-to-127-km specification matches your expected routine with a reserve.
- Your local Bajaj outlet can demonstrate the exact variant and provide a satisfactory on-road quote.
Choose Evoqis when
- You specifically prefer motorcycle ergonomics and controls.
- The published 80 km/h top speed and 3,000 W/4,300 W peak motor profile fit your routes.
- You value four stated modes—City, Sports, Parking and Reverse—and front and rear disc brakes.
- You can obtain a clear charger specification and dependable local service despite the main page not stating charge duration.
- A test ride confirms comfort, balance and passenger practicality.
Pause the purchase when
- The seller cannot identify the exact variant or provide a written specification sheet.
- Your parking location has no safe, approved charging arrangement.
- The quoted price includes unexplained handling, accessory or finance charges.
- The nearest workshop cannot give a credible parts and diagnostic timeline.
- You are choosing solely because one maximum range number is larger.
Ownership questions the published figures cannot settle
The published product information does not establish total cost of ownership, battery degradation, resale value, insurance premiums or comparative service quality. Those costs depend on annual kilometres, electricity tariff, tyres, brake wear, insurance location, financing and dealer labour rates. Ask each dealer for scheduled-maintenance intervals, consumable prices and battery-warranty terms, then calculate your own annual budget.
Electricity cost can be estimated from the usable energy you actually draw, but the product pages do not provide consumption in kWh per kilometre or usable battery capacity. Avoid presenting a precise rupee-per-kilometre figure without those inputs. Similarly, do not treat a peak motor rating as continuous output; it describes the manufacturer’s stated peak value.

Safety and legal checks
Wear a properly certified full-face or open-face helmet suited to your speed, gloves, closed footwear and reflective clothing at night. Check that the vehicle’s lights, indicators, mirrors, horn and brakes work before every ride. Follow Indian registration, insurance, helmet and road-speed rules applicable in your state; the 80 km/h claim is not permission to exceed posted limits.

Ask the dealer to demonstrate charging, drive modes, immobilisation or keyless operation, parking stand interlock and roadside-assistance contact details.
Bottom-line choice
There is no evidence-based universal winner. The Chetak 30 Series is the more straightforward shortlist for a scooter buyer who values 35-litre storage and a published 3-hour-50-minute zero-to-80% off-board charging figure. Evoqis is the more relevant shortlist for a motorcycle buyer who wants an 80 km/h top-speed claim, 3,000 W motor with 4,300 W peak and four ride modes. Verify the exact variant, current city quote, charger arrangement and workshop support, then decide after riding both.
Frequently Asked Questions
