Short answer: On the currently published specifications, the Bajaj Chetak C2501 is the stronger all-round choice for riders who want more claimed range, a higher listed top speed, a large boot and a stated warranty. Bajaj lists 113 km of range, 60 km/h and a 25-litre boot. Honda’s QC1 is listed at 80 km of range and 50 km/h, and its official technical sheet specifies an off-board charger. The QC1 can still make sense if its verified on-road quote is substantially lower and your daily trips comfortably fit within its range. These are manufacturer figures, not results from a controlled, side-by-side road test.
At a glance: Chetak C2501 or QC1?

|---|---|---|---|
| Published range | 113 km, manufacturer claim | 80 km, based on Honda internal testing | Chetak has a 33 km advantage on paper, but actual range depends on speed, load, traffic, temperature and riding style. |
| Top speed | 60 km/h on the current product page | 50 km/h in Honda’s technical sheet | Chetak has more reserve for faster urban roads; neither figure is a real-world test result. |
| Battery | 2.5 kWh | Not stated in the retrieved Honda technical sheet | Do not infer usable capacity or range efficiency from the two range figures alone. |
| Charging information | 0–80% in 2 hours 25 minutes | Off-board charger specified; a directly comparable charge time is not stated | There is no like-for-like evidence to name a charging-speed winner. |
| Boot capacity | 25 litres | Not stated in the retrieved official specification | The Chetak figure is useful for a helmet or daily items; check QC1 storage in person. |
| Published warranty | 3 years or 50,000 km, whichever comes first | Not established by the supplied official document | Ask the Honda dealer for the written warranty applicable in your city. |
| Official price evidence | ₹99,802 ex-showroom Bengaluru on the current page | No current price on Honda’s official technical sheet | Use same-city, same-date on-road quotations rather than a national price comparison. |

First, resolve the C25 and C2501 names
Bajaj’s January 2026 launch announcement called the scooter the Chetak C25. The current product page uses the more specific name Chetak C2501. A later Bajaj release describes C2501 as part of the C25 family. In practical terms, this comparison is between the QC1 and the current C2501 listing, not an unspecified older C25 advertisement.

The distinction matters because the launch announcement and the current product page do not show identical figures. The 14 January 2026 announcement quoted ₹91,399 ex-showroom Bengaluru, up to 113 km, 55 km/h and 80% charging in 2.25 hours. The current C2501 page lists ₹99,802 ex-showroom Bengaluru, 113 km, 60 km/h and 0–80% charging in 2 hours 25 minutes. Treat the launch figures as dated claims and use the current page when identifying the scooter you are being offered.
Bajaj’s 29 April 2026 announcement also describes new built-in features for the C-series, including Google Maps. Confirm that the exact C2501 unit, software version and equipment at your dealer include any feature you consider essential; a family-level announcement is not a substitute for a variant-specific quotation.
Range: the Chetak has the larger published number, with important limits
Chetak C2501: 113 km claimed
Bajaj lists a 113 km range for the C2501 and a 2.5 kWh battery. The product page does not turn that figure into a guarantee for every trip. A rider travelling at higher speeds, carrying a passenger, climbing hills or using the scooter in very hot or wet conditions can see a different result. Plan your usable buffer instead of treating 113 km as a distance you must reach before recharging.
QC1: 80 km from Honda internal testing
Honda’s QC1 technical sheet gives an 80 km range and identifies it as based on Honda internal testing. That qualification is useful: it tells you the number is a test value, not a promise that every rider will obtain 80 km. The document does not establish a test cycle that can be directly matched to Bajaj’s published method.

How to use the difference for your commute
The headline gap is 33 km, or roughly 41% of the QC1’s stated 80 km. That is meaningful for a rider who cannot charge at work or who regularly makes two-way trips across a large city. It is less decisive for a short commute with reliable overnight charging. For example, a 30 km round trip leaves a theoretical margin on both scooters, while repeated long trips leave the Chetak more breathing room. Those are planning examples, not promises of real-world distance.
- Choose the Chetak’s range advantage when your route includes a fast arterial road, frequent detours, a passenger, or uncertain access to a plug.
- The QC1 may be sufficient when your normal round trip is comfortably below its tested figure and charging at home is dependable.
- Ask both dealers how they define range, and record the battery state, load and riding mode used in any demonstration. Do not compare a dealer’s anecdote with a manufacturer test number as if they were equivalent.
Because the available material does not provide a controlled side-by-side road test, it cannot establish which scooter travels farther in identical conditions.
Speed and performance: 60 km/h versus 50 km/h
The current Chetak C2501 page lists a 60 km/h top speed. Honda’s QC1 technical sheet lists 50 km/h. That 10 km/h difference can affect route choice: the Chetak gives more headroom on roads where traffic routinely moves above 50 km/h, while the QC1 is more naturally suited to slower city streets and neighbourhood travel. Top speed is not the same as acceleration, braking performance or safe cruising speed.

No comparable Chetak torque figure is established in the supplied current specification, so it would be misleading to declare one scooter more powerful from that number alone. Torque may be quoted at different points in the drivetrain, and a single peak value does not predict launch response without motor output, gearing, controller calibration, rider load and test conditions.

What to check on a test ride
- Ride the same stretch on each scooter, if possible, with the battery at a similar state of charge.
- Check low-speed balance, throttle smoothness and the ease of turning in a crowded lane.
- Join a normal urban road briefly and note whether 50 km/h feels adequate for your traffic pattern; do not treat a public-road test as a top-speed experiment.
- Test with the items you normally carry. A scooter that feels comfortable unloaded may feel different with a passenger or a full bag.
Charging: one published time, one different charger arrangement
Chetak’s stated charge time
Bajaj states that the C2501 reaches 0–80% in 2 hours 25 minutes on the current product page. The January launch release instead said 80% in 2.25 hours (2 hours 15 minutes when expressed mathematically). That ten-minute difference reinforces why the current variant page and the charger supplied with the vehicle should control your buying decision.
QC1’s off-board charger
Honda’s official QC1 sheet specifies an off-board charger but does not provide an equivalent 0–80% or 0–100% time in the retrieved material. “Off-board” describes the setup, not its charging speed. It may affect where you store and connect the charger, so ask the dealer whether the charger can be carried, what socket and circuit it requires, and whether the quoted price includes it.
Do not label either scooter the charging winner. A fair comparison requires the same percentage window, starting battery state, ambient conditions and charger rating. Ask for those details in writing before paying a booking amount.

Price: compare a same-city on-road quote, not isolated headlines
There is no single reliable national price to put against both scooters in this evidence. Bajaj’s figures move between its launch announcement and current page, while Honda’s official technical document is not a price list.

| Source and date | Chetak C2501 | Honda QC1 | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bajaj launch announcement, 14 January 2026 | ₹91,399 ex-showroom Bengaluru | Not stated | Dated launch price; it may not be the current dealer price. |
| Current Bajaj product page, accessed in 2026 | ₹99,802 ex-showroom Bengaluru | Not stated | Current listed C2501 price for Bengaluru, before on-road charges. |
| ZigWheels comparison, updated 13 October 2026 | ₹1.05 lakh | ₹90,022 | Independent snapshot, not an official national price and not necessarily an on-road quote. |
| Honda official QC1 technical sheet | Not applicable | Price not stated | Do not present a third-party number as Honda’s official price. |
The independent snapshot is available in the ZigWheels Chetak C2501 versus QC1 comparison. It is useful for seeing what one publisher recorded on a particular date, but it does not replace a dealer quotation.
What “on-road” should include
Request a written, itemised quote for both scooters in the same city on the same day. The total should show ex-showroom price, registration and road-tax items, insurance, any handling or documentation fee, accessories, discounts, subsidy treatment and the final amount payable. Ask whether the quote is for the exact C2501 variant rather than a different Chetak C-series model.
A six-step price check
- Tell both dealers your city, intended variant and purchase date.
- Ask for the complete on-road total, not only a monthly finance payment.
- Request the battery, charger and standard equipment to be listed separately.
- Ask which incentives are guaranteed, which are conditional and when they expire.
- Confirm the delivery vehicle’s model name, software version and manufacturing date on the order documents.
- Keep both written quotes and compare the final payable amount, warranty terms and service location together.
Without those same-city quotes, it is not accurate to say that the QC1 is cheaper or that the Chetak is more expensive. A third-party snapshot can differ from the current official listing because of date, city, variant or the way charges are counted.

Storage
Bajaj lists a 25-litre boot for the C2501. That is a concrete advantage if you carry a rain layer, laptop bag or shopping during daily use. The retrieved Honda specification does not state QC1 boot capacity, so inspect the storage with your own helmet and charging cable rather than assuming the two scooters are equivalent.

Warranty
The C2501 page states a standard warranty of three years or 50,000 km, whichever comes first. The supplied Honda technical sheet does not establish a comparable QC1 warranty. Ask the Honda dealer for the written coverage period, exclusions, battery conditions and the location that will perform warranty work. Do not treat a salesperson’s verbal statement as a substitute for the warranty document.
Dealer and service access
Dealer coverage, response times and service capability vary by city, and the available specifications do not verify a regional winner. Before choosing, identify the nearest authorised workshop for each scooter, ask how routine inspections are scheduled, and confirm where a charger or battery fault would be diagnosed. A small purchase-price advantage can lose its value if routine support requires a long trip.
Which scooter fits which rider?
Choose the Chetak C2501 when range and road speed matter most
- You want the higher published range of 113 km and a 60 km/h listed top speed.
- Your commute includes faster urban roads, long detours or days when charging at work is unavailable.
- A 25-litre boot is important for everyday carrying capacity.
- You value a clearly stated three-year/50,000-km standard warranty.
- Your local Chetak dealer gives a competitive written on-road quote for the current C2501.
Choose the QC1 when a lower verified total and shorter trips decide the purchase
- Your normal travel is comfortably within the QC1’s 80 km Honda-tested figure.
- You prefer the QC1’s off-board charging arrangement after checking where the charger will be stored and connected.
- The Honda dealer offers a materially lower same-city on-road total, with equipment and warranty stated in writing.
- Your routes are predominantly slower urban streets where a 50 km/h listed top speed is adequate.
Wait and gather more information when the decision is close
Pause if the dealer cannot identify the exact variant, will not itemise the on-road price, or gives no written answer about charger inclusion and warranty. The current evidence does not establish comparable real-world range, a QC1 charging time or a current official Honda price. Those omissions are reasons to verify, not reasons to fill in the gaps with assumptions.
A practical purchase checklist
- Variant: Confirm that the Bajaj offer says Chetak C2501 and that the Honda offer says QC1.
- Price: Compare final on-road totals for the same city and date.
- Range: Record the manufacturer claim and its test qualification; plan a reserve for your own route.
- Speed: Decide whether 50 km/h is sufficient for your roads before paying a booking amount.
- Charging: Confirm charger type, included equipment, socket requirements and the quoted 0–80% time where available.
- Storage: Put your helmet and daily bag in each scooter’s actual storage space.
- Warranty: Obtain the complete written terms, including battery coverage and the kilometre limit.
- Service: Locate the authorised workshop and ask about appointment and roadside-support procedures.
- Documents: Ensure the order form, invoice and delivery paperwork use the same model designation.
Final verdict
The Chetak C2501 is the better default recommendation when the two scooters cost roughly the same in your city: its published 113 km range, 60 km/h top speed, 25-litre boot and stated three-year/50,000-km warranty cover more everyday requirements. The QC1 is a rational alternative for a shorter-range urban routine if its written on-road price is clearly lower, its 50 km/h performance suits your roads and Honda’s warranty and service arrangements check out locally. Do not choose on a headline price alone; the decisive comparison is the exact scooter, same-city on-road quote, charger setup and support you can actually obtain.
