There is no universal winner. The Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 suits riders who want a conventional petrol cruiser, familiar refuelling and a low seat. The Revolt RV400 suits riders who can charge reliably and prefer an electric motorcycle with a manufacturer-claimed range and long battery warranty. Your better choice depends on daily distance, charging or fuel access, local on-road pricing, pillion use, service support and whether you want petrol or electric power.
On October 13, 2026, the manufacturers’ current pages listed the figures below. They are specifications or claims, not a same-rider independent test. Confirm the exact variant, offer and on-road total with a local dealer before paying a booking amount.

At a glance: which rider should choose which bike?
The two motorcycles overlap in price positioning but solve different ownership problems. The Avenger is a conventional cruiser: you fill its tank, use the existing petrol network and accept engine noise, vibration and routine engine servicing. The RV400 is an electric motorcycle: you plan around charging, battery state and the availability of an authorised service point.
| Decision factor | Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 | Revolt RV400 |
|---|---|---|
| Best fit | Riders wanting a petrol cruiser with a relaxed, low-seat riding position | Riders with dependable home or workplace charging who prefer electric operation |
| Energy source | Petrol in a conventional fuel tank | Rechargeable battery |
| Daily planning | Refuel at a petrol station when needed | Start with enough charge for the route and allow time to recharge |
| Ride character | Engine-driven cruiser response and mechanical feel | Quiet, immediate electric response; Revolt describes it as “smooth, vibration-free” with instant throttle response, which is marketing language rather than independent test evidence |
| Most important check | Dealer’s current on-road quote, insurance and service terms | Home/work charging feasibility, exact variant price and local service coverage |
If your decision is still unclear, use the scenario guide later in this article rather than treating one specification as proof that one motorcycle is better in every situation.

Published specifications and claims
The following table keeps the manufacturer-published figures together so that each number retains its qualification. Bajaj’s model and specification pages are the Avenger Cruise 220 model page and its specifications page. Revolt’s figures are from the RV400 product, pricing and FAQ page.
| Published item | Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 | Revolt RV400 |
|---|---|---|
| Powertrain | 220 cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled, fuel-injected petrol engine | Electric motorcycle; the cited page publishes range, charging and speed claims rather than an engine displacement figure |
| Power output | 13.99 kW (19.03 PS) at 8,500 rpm | Not stated on the cited product page |
| Torque | 17.55 Nm at 7,000 rpm | Not stated on the cited product page |
| Fuel or energy storage | 13-litre fuel tank | Battery; capacity is not stated in the cited product information |
| Weight | 163 kg kerb weight | Not stated on the cited product page |
| Seat height | 737 mm | The pricing/specification table shows both 815 mm and 780 mm values; confirm which variant and seat configuration a dealer is quoting |
| Brakes | 280 mm front disc with ABS and 130 mm rear drum | Detailed brake hardware is not stated in the cited product information |
| Range or economy claim | Bajaj’s current page does not publish a mileage figure | 150 km IDC claimed range; IDC is a test-cycle claim, not a guarantee of daily usable distance |
| Refuelling or charging claim | Petrol refuelling; no refuelling time is specified | 3 hours 30 minutes for 0–80% charging; an 80-minute fast-charging listing also appears, so ask the dealer what equipment and conditions that figure requires |
| Top speed | Not stated on the cited current specification page | 85 km/h manufacturer claim |
| Vehicle price shown by manufacturer | ₹1,33,617 Delhi ex-showroom starting price; registration, insurance and location are extra | The same page displays ₹1,34,990 and ₹1,39,950 in its pricing/specification table, while its FAQ says ₹1,44,950 ex-showroom |
| Warranty shown by manufacturer | Check the current written Bajaj dealer terms for the offered motorcycle | 5 years or 60,000 km for the vehicle, and 8 years or 80,000 km for the battery |
The conflicting RV400 amounts are not a typo that a buyer should silently average. They may represent different variants, offers or page sections. Request a written quotation naming the variant, ex-showroom amount, insurance, registration, accessories, charger and every applicable subsidy.
Engine cruiser versus electric motorcycle
How the Avenger’s petrol powertrain changes the experience
The Avenger uses a 220 cc single-cylinder engine with fuel injection and oil cooling. Its published output is delivered at engine speed, so acceleration builds with throttle and revs rather than arriving as an instant electric surge. Riders who enjoy the sound, gear changes and mechanical feedback of a petrol cruiser will find that character familiar.
A petrol engine also separates riding from electricity planning. A long ride can be extended by stopping at another fuel station, subject to station availability and operating hours. That convenience does not establish a lower running cost: the cited manufacturer information does not include a controlled fuel-versus-electricity cost study, and Bajaj’s current specification page does not publish an official mileage figure.
What changes on the RV400
The RV400 removes engine vibration and tailpipe emissions during use. Revolt says the motorcycle has a smooth, vibration-free ride and instant throttle response; treat that sentence as the manufacturer’s description, not as an independent measurement. Electric delivery can feel straightforward in traffic because there is no clutch or gear-shift routine, but the ownership experience depends on charging access and battery state.

- Protection Function: Our car cup holder coaster has a carry handle design and a stand-up ring edge on its edge to effectively prevent food crumbs, drinks and water from leaking out and preventing the car cup holder from getting dirty.Meanwhile,Thickened design effectively prevents the cup holder from being scratched by the cup when driving on bumpy roads and eliminates the annoying thumping sound, making your journey more enjoyable.
- Easy to Use and Clean: With embedded installation, you just need to put it flat on the car cupholder. It is also very quick to remove, there is a small bump on the coaster, pinch it and you can easily remove the coaster. It is very easy to clean, rinse with water or wipe with a wet towel (be careful not to clean with sharp tools).
- 100% Satisfaction: Our products have quality assurance, if you have questions or are not satisfied after receiving the product, don't worry, please contact us as soon as possible, we provide after-sales service.
The published 85 km/h top-speed claim is useful for deciding whether the RV400 matches your roads. It does not describe acceleration at every battery level, hill-climbing performance with a passenger or sustained highway behaviour. Those are questions to ask during a legal, supervised test ride.
Range, charging and long-distance planning
Understanding the RV400’s 150 km IDC figure
IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) is a standardised test-cycle result. The RV400’s 150 km figure is therefore a manufacturer claim under that cycle, not a promise that every rider will travel 150 km between charges. Speed, rider and pillion weight, gradients, traffic, temperature, tyre pressure, riding mode and battery condition can all change usable distance.

Before buying, map your normal route and keep a conservative reserve. Ask the dealer to demonstrate the dashboard’s state-of-charge display, charging connector, portable or fixed charger, and the procedure for charging in an apartment or workplace. Confirm whether the quoted 0–80% time assumes a particular charger, electrical supply or temperature. The separate 80-minute fast-charge listing needs the same clarification; do not assume every RV400 supplied includes identical fast-charging hardware.
Why the Avenger’s range question is different
The Avenger carries petrol in a 13-litre tank, so the practical question is where and how often you can refuel rather than where a socket is available. Bajaj’s current page does not state an official mileage number. A dated ZigWheels comparison, updated August 21, 2026, lists 40 kmpl as a claimed Avenger figure and 150 km per charge for the RV400; that secondary comparison is context only and should not be treated as a current manufacturer guarantee or a controlled test. See the ZigWheels comparison for its date and methodology notes.
Do not convert either published figure into a lifetime-cost winner. Fuel prices, electricity tariffs, charging losses, service, consumables, battery ageing and local incentives determine actual ownership cost.

Price: compare like with like
The Avenger’s ₹1,33,617 figure is specifically a Delhi ex-showroom starting price from Bajaj’s 2026 page. It is not an on-road quote. Registration fees, insurance, taxes, handling or documentation charges and optional equipment can change the amount payable in another city.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesRevolt’s page is internally inconsistent: its pricing/specification area shows ₹1,34,990 and ₹1,39,950, while the FAQ lists ₹1,44,950 ex-showroom. Because the page does not establish one single applicable figure, do not declare the RV400 cheaper or more expensive than the Avenger from those numbers alone.
- Ask both dealers for an itemised on-road quotation dated the same day.
- Write down the exact variant, colour, charger, battery or vehicle package, insurance duration and registration jurisdiction.
- Check whether a promotional price, exchange benefit or government incentive is conditional or temporary.
- Compare the payable total and financing terms, not two ex-showroom headlines.
- Keep the quotation and warranty booklet; they are useful if the billed amount or promised equipment differs at delivery.
Ergonomics, weight and passenger use
The Avenger’s 737 mm saddle is the lower published seat figure, which can make it easier for shorter riders to place both feet on the ground. Its 163 kg kerb weight is substantial when pushing the motorcycle into a parking space, manoeuvring on a slope or recovering from a poor stop. A low seat does not by itself make a motorcycle light.
The RV400 page’s two seat-height entries—815 mm and 780 mm—must be reconciled with the exact version on offer. A difference of several centimetres changes knee bend, reach to the ground and confidence at low speed. Sit on the actual motorcycle, wearing the footwear and riding gear you normally use, and repeat the test with the intended pillion if two-up travel matters.
- Check that you can turn the handlebar fully without your knees or wrists feeling cramped.
- Hold the motorcycle upright from a standstill and push it backwards on the surface where you park.
- Test the side-stand reach and whether luggage or a passenger interferes with your feet.
- Ask for the permitted payload and accessory limits in writing; they are not established by the cited pages.
Neither model should be selected from a seat-height number alone. Dealer floors may display a different trim, suspension setting or accessory seat from the one in the online table.

Braking, speed and the kind of roads you ride
Bajaj publishes a 280 mm front disc with ABS and a 130 mm rear drum for the Avenger. That hardware describes the listed configuration, not a stopping-distance test. Practise progressive braking in a safe area and check how the ABS intervenes on the surfaces you regularly encounter.
Revolt publishes an 85 km/h top-speed claim but the cited page does not provide equivalent brake dimensions. Ask the dealer to identify the braking system on the exact variant and to explain warning lights, regenerative braking behaviour and what happens if the battery is very low. For mixed city and ring-road use, compare the speed limit of your route with the motorcycle’s claimed capability rather than assuming a larger-looking body is suitable for every highway.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Warranty and service questions that can change the decision
The RV400’s published warranty separates the vehicle from its battery: the vehicle is covered for 5 years or 60,000 km, while the battery is listed for 8 years or 80,000 km. Read the complete terms for exclusions, scheduled servicing, software or charger coverage, capacity thresholds, accident damage, water exposure, transfer to a second owner and the process for roadside recovery.
For the Avenger, obtain the current Bajaj warranty and service schedule for the motorcycle you are actually buying. The cited Avenger pages do not establish a warranty duration. Ask about service intervals, consumables, roadside assistance, parts lead times and the nearest authorised workshop.

Choose by scenario
Choose the Avenger when fuel access is your strongest requirement
The Avenger is the safer fit when you cannot guarantee a private charging socket, regularly make unplanned detours, or want to extend a ride with a quick fuel stop. It also makes sense when the low published seat height and petrol-cruiser feel matter more than silent operation. Verify the local on-road price and service terms before treating its Delhi starting price as affordable in your city.
Choose the RV400 when predictable charging is already solved
The RV400 is the logical candidate when you can charge at home or work, your daily route leaves a sensible reserve below the IDC claim, and you value electric throttle response and a separate battery warranty. Confirm the actual seat-height variant, charging equipment, fast-charge conditions, price and authorised service coverage in your city.
Pause the purchase when the infrastructure is uncertain
If you live in a shared building with no approved socket, park outdoors without a practical charging arrangement, or depend on long rides beyond your normal route, obtain written answers before choosing the RV400. If you dislike engine noise but cannot charge reliably, the Avenger may create a different kind of frustration. A test ride cannot solve an infrastructure problem.
A practical pre-delivery and test-ride checklist
- Confirm identity: Match the quotation, variant name, colour and vehicle identification details to the motorcycle offered.
- Check the money: Reconcile ex-showroom, registration, insurance, taxes, accessories, charger and any discount before signing.
- Test the fit: Sit in your normal gear, place both feet where possible, operate the controls and repeat with the passenger who will actually ride with you.
- Test the route: Ride through the traffic, inclines and speeds you normally encounter. Do not treat a short dealership loop as proof of range, economy or comfort.
- For the RV400: Demonstrate charging, read the state-of-charge display, identify the supplied charger and obtain the warranty conditions for both vehicle and battery.
- For the Avenger: Confirm the fuel-injection specification, ABS operation, service schedule and the dealer’s written warranty terms.
- Document delivery: Photograph the odometer, accessories, charger, tool kit and visible condition, and keep invoices and warranty documents.
Common comparison mistakes
- Calling the IDC number real-world range: A test-cycle result is not a guaranteed distance in traffic or with a passenger.
- Comparing ex-showroom with on-road: Taxes, insurance and registration vary by location and can reverse a price impression.
- Ignoring the RV400 price conflict: Three different ex-showroom amounts appear on its own page; get a dated variant-specific quote.
- Assuming a low seat means easy handling: The Avenger’s published kerb weight still affects parking and slow manoeuvres.
- Using a third-party mileage figure as a promise: The 40 kmpl Avenger figure is dated secondary context, not a current Bajaj specification or independent test result.
- Choosing on warranty duration alone: Read exclusions, service locations, claim procedures and what the battery warranty actually measures.
- Skipping the passenger test: Seat height, reach and balance can feel different with a second rider and luggage.
Final decision
Buy the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 if your priority is a traditional petrol cruiser, a low published saddle and refuelling flexibility. Buy the Revolt RV400 if dependable charging is available, your route fits a conservative interpretation of its 150 km IDC claim, and you want an electric ride with the published vehicle and battery warranty structure. If neither infrastructure nor the local price is clear, delay the booking until a dealer gives you a written on-road quote and demonstrates the exact motorcycle and equipment.
