The Avore EX1 is an electric, automatic motorcycle built around home charging, while the Bajaj Pulsar 180 is a petrol, geared motorcycle designed for quick refuelling and familiar manual riding. Your access to a socket or fuel station, daily distance, local service network and preference for automatic or manual control matter more than a single specification.
The figures below come from manufacturer pages and published specifications, not a controlled head-to-head road test. Prices are also not like-for-like: Avore shows an introductory offer, whereas Bajaj quotes an ex-showroom Delhi price.

Avore EX1 vs Bajaj Pulsar 180 at a glance
These bikes use fundamentally different powertrains, so battery capacity in kilowatt-hours and engine displacement in cubic centimetres should not be treated as equivalent measures. The table identifies what each source actually publishes.

What the Avore EX1 is designed to do
Electric drivetrain and automatic operation
The EX1 stores energy in a 3.24 kWh battery and drives an electric motor. Its automatic transmission removes clutch and gear changes, which can make stop-start commuting easier for riders who want simple controls. That convenience depends on having a dependable place to charge; a rider in an apartment without an approved socket may find the automatic layout less important than the charging constraint.
Range and performance claims
Avore’s product page claims 160 km under the Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) and a 100 km/h top speed. Autocar India’s specification listing attributes 7.5 kW to the motor and records a published 0–40 km/h time of 3.2 seconds. These are published product figures, not independent measurements from the same route, rider, load, weather and battery state. Treat the IDC number as a reference for comparing the manufacturer’s claim, then leave a practical reserve for traffic, speed, payload, hills and battery ageing.
Charging routine
Avore says the EX1 can use a normal 5A/15A electrical socket and advertises a 20–80% charge in two hours. Autocar India’s page gives three hours for the same stated interval. Before booking, ask the seller which figure applies to the vehicle and charger being delivered, whether the socket must be dedicated and earthed, and how charging changes in hot or cold conditions. A socket near your overnight parking space is more valuable than a headline charging time.

Petrol engine and manual control
Bajaj describes the Pulsar 180 as a four-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder petrol motorcycle. Its geared layout gives the rider control over clutch engagement, engine braking and gear selection. That can feel more engaging on open roads, but it adds coordination in congestion and requires the rider to manage clutch and throttle smoothly.
Published engine figures
The current Bajaj booking page lists 178.61 cc, 17 PS at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm at 6,500 rpm. A separate Bajaj specification page lists 178.06 cc, 17.02 PS and 14.22 Nm. These are conflicting published data sets, possibly reflecting a market, model-year or page difference. Use the booking-page figures for a current quotation, and ask the dealer to confirm the exact specification on your invoice and registration documents rather than combining numbers from both pages.

Refuelling routine
The Pulsar’s energy stop is a conventional petrol refill, so a long trip does not require waiting for a battery charge. The trade-off is that your running-cost and range calculation depends on actual fuel consumption, petrol prices and riding conditions. The cited sources do not provide a matched independent fuel-economy result, so do not assume a precise monthly saving from the engine specification alone.
Performance: what can and cannot be compared
A 7.5 kW electric-motor figure and a 17 PS petrol-engine figure are not a direct scorecard. Electric motors deliver torque differently from a combustion engine, while the Pulsar’s output is tied to engine speed and gear selection. The EX1’s automatic drive may feel immediate at urban speeds; the Pulsar’s manual transmission lets the rider keep the engine in a preferred rev range. Without a common acceleration test, top-speed run, rider weight, road gradient and battery or fuel state, declaring one faster would be speculation.
The EX1’s 100 km/h claim and 160 km IDC claim answer different questions: one is a maximum-speed specification and the other is a test-cycle distance. Neither predicts exactly how far you will travel at sustained high speed with a passenger. Similarly, the Pulsar’s peak power and torque identify engine output but do not establish overtaking time, fuel economy or comfort on your route.
Price: why the displayed numbers are not equivalent
Avore EX1 offer
Avore’s official site shows a ₹1,24,999 introductory starting price, limited to the first 10,000 customers. That is a promotional condition, not a guaranteed permanent price. Autocar India reported an EX range price of ₹1.23 lakh in July 2026, which may reflect a different timing, variant or offer. Confirm the current ex-showroom amount, delivery charges, charger inclusion, insurance, registration and any state incentive in writing.
Bajaj Pulsar 180 quotation
Bajaj’s booking page lists ₹1,22,490 ex-showroom Delhi. Ex-showroom pricing excludes registration, insurance and other on-road items, and the amount can differ by city. Request an itemised quotation for your registration location before comparing it with the EX1.

Build an on-road comparison
- Ask both sellers for the exact variant and model year.
- Record ex-showroom price, registration or road tax, insurance, handling or delivery fees and accessories separately.
- Check whether the EX1 price includes its charging equipment and whether any introductory eligibility condition applies.
- Subtract only confirmed subsidies or incentives available in your state and on the purchase date.
- Compare the final payable totals, not the two headline numbers.
Daily-use decision: charging versus refuelling
Choose the EX1 when home charging fits your routine
- You have a safe, authorised socket beside your regular parking space.
- Your daily travel can be covered with a comfortable reserve below the claimed IDC range.
- You prefer automatic controls in traffic.
- You can identify an Avore service contact and parts support in your city.
Choose the Pulsar 180 when refuelling and manual riding matter more
- You park where installing or using a socket is difficult or prohibited.
- You regularly make unpredictable or long trips and value a quick petrol stop.
- You enjoy clutch-and-gear control or already ride geared motorcycles.
- A Bajaj workshop and authorised service access are easier to reach locally.
Neither is the safe choice yet when key local facts are unknown
Delay the decision if you cannot verify where the EX1 will be serviced, whether your apartment permits charging, or what either bike costs on the road in your city. A familiar brand name or a lower online number cannot compensate for unavailable support or an unusable parking arrangement.
Ownership factors that the specifications do not settle
Service and parts access
Availability varies by city. Bajaj provides an online booking route, but that page does not prove workshop capacity or inventory near you. Avore promotes pre-booking; the cited material does not establish a nationwide dealer or service footprint. Call the nearest claimed service point and ask about high-voltage diagnostics, battery warranty terms, routine inspection intervals, accident repair and expected parts lead times before paying a deposit.
Running cost evidence
The supplied specifications do not establish a controlled electricity-cost comparison against Pulsar petrol consumption. Your result would depend on your electricity tariff, charging losses, petrol price, traffic, speed, load, maintenance and tyre wear. Keep a simple first-month log of kilometres, energy or fuel purchased and service expenses if operating cost is a deciding factor; do not present an unverified estimate as a tested saving.
Weather, load and route
Hills, a passenger, high speeds, low tyre pressure and repeated acceleration can reduce an electric motorcycle’s usable distance. They also affect a petrol bike’s consumption and performance. Test each model, if possible, on the roads you actually use, with the riding position and load you expect.
Practical buying checklist
- Map your route: write down weekday kilometres, longest regular trip, average traffic and whether a passenger or luggage is common.
- Verify energy access: for the EX1, inspect the parking socket, earthing, cable route and permission to charge overnight.
- Get local quotations: obtain written on-road prices, delivery timelines and the validity date from both dealers.
- Confirm specification: match the EX1 battery and charger details and the Pulsar engine figures to the invoice; resolve the two Bajaj displacement/output listings with the dealer.
- Check support: identify the nearest authorised workshop, roadside assistance process, warranty exclusions and parts ordering method.
- Ride both: evaluate low-speed balance, braking, seat comfort, heat, vibration, clutch effort and passenger space on a route resembling your commute.
- Plan the inconvenient day: decide what you will do during a power outage, an unplanned long trip or a delayed service appointment.
Common comparison mistakes
Comparing a promotional price with an ex-showroom price
The EX1’s introductory offer and the Pulsar’s Delhi ex-showroom figure omit different costs and conditions. Only an itemised, same-city on-road quote can answer which purchase is cheaper.

Treating IDC range as guaranteed distance
IDC is a standardised claim, not a promise for every rider. Use a reserve and verify charging access rather than planning a route around the maximum published number.
Merging conflicting Pulsar specifications
Do not write 178.61 cc with 17.02 PS and 14.22 Nm as though one page reported all three. The booking page and the separate Bajaj specification page differ; identify the source set you use.
Assuming a charging time without checking the variant
Avore’s two-hour claim and Autocar India’s three-hour listing for 20–80% may reflect different conditions or versions. Confirm the delivered charger, input supply and expected ambient-temperature limits.
Inferring reliability or economy from brand familiarity
No cited source supplies a matched reliability study, real-world EX1 range test or Pulsar fuel-economy test. Ask for warranty and service evidence, then base your choice on support you can actually access.

Rider in a building without charging permission
The Pulsar avoids the need to negotiate an electrical connection at your parking space. Its geared controls and petrol stops may fit your routine better, provided a Bajaj workshop is accessible.
Mixed commuter and weekend traveller
Choose based on where you can replenish energy on the longest route, not on headline range or top speed. A petrol refill may be simpler for an unpredictable itinerary; the EX1 can work when every overnight stop has dependable charging.
First-time motorcycle buyer
An automatic EX1 removes clutch and gear learning, while the Pulsar requires those skills but can teach the conventional motorcycle technique used by many petrol models. A supervised test ride and training matter more than the brochure choice.
Sources and current-data caveats
Avore’s product information is available at avorebike.in. Bajaj’s booking figures are on the Pulsar 180 booking page; its separate specification page is here. Frequently Asked Questions
Can I compare the EX1’s 3.24 kWh battery directly with the Pulsar 180’s 178.61 cc engine?
No. Kilowatt-hours describe stored electrical energy, while cubic centimetres describe engine displacement. They belong to different powertrains and do not predict equivalent range, acceleration or cost.
Is the Avore EX1’s 160 km range guaranteed in daily use?
No. It is Avore’s IDC claim. Traffic, speed, hills, payload, temperature and battery condition can change the distance you achieve, so plan with a reserve.
Why do Bajaj pages show different Pulsar 180 figures?
The booking page lists 178.61 cc, 17 PS and 15 Nm, while a separate Bajaj specification page lists 178.06 cc, 17.02 PS and 14.22 Nm. Ask the dealer to confirm the specification for your exact model year and market.
