Audi Concept C is an all-electric, two-seat sports-car concept that introduces the company’s new design philosophy: fewer visual and interface distractions, with more emphasis on clear forms and tactile controls. It is not a production car for sale. Audi says the fully electric sports model it previews is planned for production at Böllinger Höfe from 2027.
What is the Audi Concept C?
Introduced on September 2, 2025, Concept C is a design study for a two-seat electric sports car. Audi presents it as the first expression of a design philosophy built around radical simplicity, technical precision, clarity, intelligence and emotion. The company says the concept previews a future production model and will influence further models. Audi’s launch announcement identifies the displayed vehicle as a concept, not a production vehicle available to buy.
What makes its design different?
A more restrained exterior
The front is organized around a strong upright frame, which Audi describes as the focal point from which the car’s structural volume develops. The company cites two historical references for it: the Auto Union Type C from 1936 and the third-generation Audi A6 from 2004. A pronounced shoulder line and a cabin set toward the rear establish the proportions; Audi says those proportions follow from a central-battery layout. The front and rear lights each use four horizontally arranged elements. Audi presents the exterior in a color it calls “Titanium.”
A hardtop that shapes the silhouette
Concept C has a two-piece electrically retractable hardtop. Closed, it is intended to preserve a solid, coupe-like form; retracted, it allows open-top driving. Audi calls this the first electrically retractable hardtop on an Audi roadster. That is Audi’s claim about the concept, not confirmation that the production model will use the same roof.

Physical controls instead of a screen-led cabin
Audi describes the cabin as driver-focused while retaining space for both occupants. Anodized-aluminum physical controls are designed to provide tactile feedback, while the steering wheel and center console have haptic controls. A foldable 10.4-inch center display can be put away when it is not needed. The stated design principle is that technology should be present without dominating the interior.
Will the Audi Concept C go into production?
Not as the displayed concept car: Audi says Concept C is unavailable as a production vehicle. But the company has attached a production plan to the idea behind it. In an April 23, 2026 update on its production network, Audi said the fully electric sports model previewed by Concept C is planned for production at Böllinger Höfe from 2027. This is a stated company plan, not a confirmed customer-delivery date.

What is still unknown about the production model?
Audi’s cited announcements do not establish the production car’s final name, price, range, power, battery, charging rate, launch markets or exact launch and delivery timing. Nor do they confirm which of the concept’s styling and cabin features will carry over. The roof, controls and light signature describe the study; they should not be treated as finalized production specifications.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why Concept C matters for Audi’s design
Concept C makes Audi’s design reset tangible through a small set of clear ideas: a vertical front frame, a deliberately simple silhouette, a retractable hardtop and controls intended to be used by touch rather than buried in a screen-first interface. Its historical references connect that direction to earlier Audi and Auto Union design, while the central-battery proportions point to the concept’s electric layout. The production plan gives the study a near-term industrial context, but the concept remains a preview rather than a specification sheet for the car Audi intends to build.
