But the headline’s $2 million figure is not confirmed by Aston Martin: a 2023 secondary report put launch pricing at over $1 million, without establishing an exact original price or today’s value.
What is the Aston Martin Valour?
Aston Martin announced the Valour on 11 July 2023 to mark the company’s 110th anniversary. Production was limited to 110 examples worldwide, making it a deliberately rare, front-engined sports car with a manual transmission. The company scheduled production to begin at Gaydon in the third quarter of 2023, with first deliveries planned for the fourth quarter; those dates were launch plans, not confirmation of the status of any particular car.
The Valour’s appeal is the combination of old-school driver involvement and current engineering. Its long-nose, two-seat layout and manual shift mechanism look back to earlier Aston Martins, while its adaptive suspension, electronic driving aids and carbon-ceramic brakes are contemporary hardware.
How much power does the Valour make, and is it a manual?
The Valour uses a front-mounted 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 rated by Aston Martin at 715 PS and 753 Nm of torque. It sends power to the rear wheels through a bespoke six-speed manual gearbox and a mechanical limited-slip differential. Aston Martin described this as the first use of this manual configuration in this application.

The car also has electronic traction and stability controls, with Sport, Sport+ and Track modes. Aston Martin’s brochure characterizes the engine as delivering a virtually flat second-gear torque curve from 1,800 to 7,000 rpm; that is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent test result.
What inspired the Valour’s design?
Aston Martin points to the original V8 Vantage and the 1980 Vantage-based RHAM/1 “Muncher” Le Mans racer as key inspirations. It also connects the Valour’s design to the One-77 and its driver-focused character to the one-off Victor. These are heritage references rather than a claim that the Valour is a mechanical re-creation of any of those cars.

Its bodywork is made from carbon fibre. Design details include round LED headlights, a Kamm-style tail, rear “exoblades” intended to generate vortices, and a lightweight triple exhaust. The cabin is a two-seat cockpit built around the exposed manual shift mechanism.
What chassis, brake and tire hardware does it use?
Aston Martin specifies bespoke suspension calibration, adaptive dampers, springs and anti-roll bars, dedicated alignment settings and additional body bracing. The factory equipment is designed to support the car’s front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout without making it an analogue-only machine: electronic traction and stability systems remain part of the package.

Standard-fit carbon-ceramic brakes use 410 mm front discs with six-piston calipers and 360 mm rear discs with four-piston calipers. Aston Martin specifies 21-inch forged alloy wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires in the following sizes:
| Axle | Factory tire size |
|---|---|
| Front | 275/35 R21 |
| Rear | 325/30 R21 |
Aston Martin says the Pilot Sport S 5 was developed with Michelin using a bespoke Aston Martin compound. Owners replacing a tire should verify exact Valour fitment and availability with an Aston Martin dealer or tire supplier; the stated front size alone does not confirm suitability for a specific wheel or vehicle.

How customizable is the Valour?
Q by Aston Martin offers personalization options, so not every Valour should be assumed to have the same cabin specification. Aston Martin describes gear-knob choices in machined aluminium, titanium, carbon fibre or walnut, along with materials and finishes such as tweed, cashmere and tinted carbon fibre. Commissioned finishes are also part of the Q offering.

The $2 million figure is not substantiated by Aston Martin’s launch release, brochure or model page. Car and Driver’s 11 July 2023 launch report described the limited-run cars as priced at over $1 million each. That report does not establish a precise base price, the price of a particular car with options, or its current resale value. No current inventory or market valuation is established by those sources.

As a result, the sound conclusion is that the Valour is an exceptionally limited, high-priced V12 manual special—not that $2 million is a verified sticker price or market value. Its defining proposition is the pairing of a bespoke six-speed manual with Aston Martin’s twin-turbo V12, wrapped in design references to the marque’s historic Vantage and racing cars.
