Created by Q by Aston Martin, the Goldfinger Edition commemorates the 60-year association between Aston Martin and James Bond. That story begins on screen with the DB5 in Goldfinger (1964). Aston Martin announced the special DB12 on 14 October 2024, setting a global production limit of 60 cars. Those are the manufacturer’s announced figures, not an independently audited count of completed cars. What makes the Goldfinger Edition different?
Silver Birch exterior and gold accents
The Silver Birch paint recalls the DB5’s appearance in Goldfinger. The edition adds 21-inch multi-spoke wheels with a silver diamond-treatment finish, black brake calipers, bespoke gold side strakes, a silver Aston Martin logo with black enamel, and a bright chrome Q fender badge.
Film references inside the cabin
Leather Sports Plus seats use a classic DB5 fluted style, with Prince of Wales check perforations. The check pattern also appears on the door inserts and headliner, while an etched treadplate and sill plaque carry the anniversary theme. Gold-plated accents finish the drive-mode rotary dial, roller controls and notched gear selector; gold metal fibres are woven into the 2X2 Twill Gloss Carbon Fibre trim.

Does the DB12 Goldfinger Edition have Bond gadgets?
No Bond gadgets are specified in Aston Martin’s description. The edition’s 007 connection is expressed through its paint, materials, motifs and owner gifts; it remains a modern DB12 rather than the gadget-equipped DB5 associated with the films.
How does it compare mechanically with the DB12?
Aston Martin specifies the Goldfinger Edition with the DB12’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, rated at 680PS and 800Nm, and says the Bowers & Wilkins halo audio system is standard on this edition. The company’s May 2023 DB12 launch announcement gives the broader model context: a 0–60 mph time of 3.5 seconds and a 202 mph top speed, alongside adaptive dampers, an electronic rear differential, an eight-speed automatic transmission and in-house infotainment. Those acceleration and top-speed figures are DB12 launch specifications, not independent test results for the Goldfinger Edition. The 2023 release described Bowers & Wilkins as optional on the regular DB12; the 2024 edition announcement says it is standard here.

When was it due, and what is known about availability?
Aston Martin’s October 2024 announcement scheduled first deliveries to commence in Q2 2025. That was a forecast, not confirmation that deliveries began on schedule. The announcement does not establish a current asking price, current dealer inventory, or how many cars have been delivered, so the 60-car production limit should not be read as evidence that any examples remain available.
