Is Assetto Corsa Rally finished?

See the Steam listing immediately before installation for the current requirements. If your PC is below the listed minimum, do not assume that lowering a few graphics settings will produce an acceptable result: the published minimum is already based on a relatively demanding GPU class and an SSD requirement.
What the requirements mean in practice
- SSD: An SSD is not merely a performance suggestion in the listing; it is listed as required. Keep additional free space available for Early Access updates.
- 16 GB of RAM: This is the published memory target for both minimum and recommended configurations. Closing unnecessary applications can reduce background pressure, but it does not turn unsupported hardware into officially supported hardware.
- GPU class: The RTX 2080/RX 6650 XT minimum and RTX 3070/RX 6800 recommended targets indicate that this is not aimed at very old integrated graphics or entry-level gaming laptops.
- Internet: Broadband is listed, and online features require network access. Steam also needs to download the initial game and subsequent updates.
What is included in the current Early Access version?
The documented modes include Free Practice, Rally Weekend, Single Rally Stage, and Time Attack with online leaderboards. The game also includes Assetto Corsa Rally Events and structured competition intended to give stages and cars a more organized progression than simply selecting a route and driving it.

Update 0.5, released on June 29, 2026, introduced the first phase of online multiplayer. Players can create or join public and private single-stage lobbies for up to 16 participants. Lobby options include weather settings and car restrictions, and live spectating is available. The update also added official developer-managed lobbies and a rotating event calendar.

Patch 0.5.1 later improved lobby handling, added a search bar covering lobby owners, track locations, and stages, and reduced the online single-stage service-park timer to three minutes. Multiplayer rules and availability can continue to change during Early Access, so check the latest official notes if online competition is your main reason for buying.

The initial real-world stage package includes:
- Rally Alsace: Munster and Saverne
- Rally Wales: Hafren South and Hafren North
Those initial locations represent more than 20 miles, or approximately 33 km, of laser-scanned roads. Update 0.5 added Greece, including Loutraki and Elatia, with 12 layout variants and 22 km of additional laser-scanned roads according to the Steam listing.
The locations are not simply interchangeable scenery. The official descriptions emphasize changing surfaces, weather, visibility, time of day, and day-to-night conditions. That combination is central to the rally format: a familiar road can demand a different approach when grip or visibility changes.
Screenshots: what the official gallery shows
The official image gallery contains cars on gravel and asphalt, cockpit views, changing weather, night scenes, Greek stages, and broader rally environments. It is preferable to unattributed reposts because it is publisher-controlled promotional material.

You do not need to claim that a wheel is mandatory. The game supports customizable controls and is not documented as requiring a racing wheel for every player. For more precise steering and pedal control, consider a PC racing wheel and pedals. 1. Start with Free Practice
Free Practice is the best documented starting point for learning stage flow, braking points, junctions, and surface changes before entering Rally Weekend, a timed event, or a leaderboard run. Treat the first few attempts as reconnaissance rather than as failed races.
2. Listen to the co-driver
The game is built around professional-style co-driver guidance and detailed pace notes. New players should learn to process the note before trying to maximize speed. If you regularly arrive at corners surprised, the answer is usually earlier information and smoother preparation—not simply a more aggressive setup.
3. Slow down when conditions change
Weather, time of day, visibility, and surface behavior can change the demands of a stage. When grip or visibility becomes less predictable, moderate entry speed and braking earlier. This is a conservative driving recommendation based on the documented weather and surface systems, not a claim of a specific tested setup.
4. Learn one drivetrain type at a time
The physics model covers front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive cars. Compare them in practice rather than switching randomly between all three. That makes it easier to understand how drivetrain behavior affects turn-in, traction, throttle use, and recovery from a slide. There is no responsibly universal “best” drivetrain without testing a defined car, surface, weather state, and driver preference.

5. Prioritize a clean stage
Physics-driven damage and destructible environments mean that a dramatic mistake can affect the run. A clean, repeatable stage is a better beginner target than maximum commitment at every corner. Build pace after you can finish consistently.
6. Use the ideal line where it is available
Update 0.5 introduced a dynamic ideal line on the Greece stages. It can be useful as a learning aid, but present it as a feature of the current Greece content—not as an assumption that the aid is available on every stage.

The major update added the Greece rally content and the first phase of online multiplayer. It also introduced a physics overhaul covering tire behavior, surface recognition, bulldozing effects on soft surfaces, camber dynamics, and experimentation with surface feedback. Greece also received the dynamic ideal line feature.

Patch 0.5.1 — July 16, 2026
The latest verified official patch in this research pass adjusted car setups, aerodynamic loads, detachable-component collision behavior, tire rolling resistance, surface grip, and surface-dependent resistance. It also improved lobby browsing, audio behavior, Greece-stage dressing and collisions, and several user-interface and environment issues. The patch reduced the online single-stage service-park timer to three minutes and added lobby search across owners, locations, and stages.
Because this is an Early Access game, always check the latest 505 Games support notes and the official Assetto Corsa Rally site before troubleshooting a change in handling or menus.
Competitive rally context
Assetto Corsa Rally was selected as the exclusive official platform for the FIA Esports Global Rally Tour. The announced format includes a global qualifier, regional competition, and a planned final during FIA Awards Week in Shanghai in December 2026.
