The Aprilia Tuono 457 and RS 457 share a 457 cc platform and much of their equipment; the main difference is the format. The Tuono is a naked roadster with an upright handlebar layout, while the RS is a faired sportbike with semi-handlebars. That makes riding position and bodywork the clearest basis for choosing between them—not a major difference in the published engine specifications.

Posture and bodywork: upright roadster or faired sportbike?
Tuono 457: naked styling and upright layout
The Tuono leaves the 457 platform visually exposed, with a compact headlight unit and an upright handlebar arrangement. The configuration points to a more upright cockpit than the RS, but manufacturer descriptions alone do not establish that it will feel more comfortable for every rider or on every trip.
RS 457: sportbike fairing and semi-handlebars
The RS surrounds the platform with sportbike bodywork and places semi-handlebars above the steering yoke. Its cockpit is the more sport-oriented configuration of the two. Aprilia’s published specifications do not provide comparative rider testing, so comfort and handling should be judged on a test ride rather than treated as measured advantages.

Engine and shared equipment
Aprilia’s November 2025 range brochure lists both bikes with a 457 cc E5+ parallel twin producing 48 HP and a wet weight of 175 kg. Its 2025 Tuono technical sheet gives a more precise output figure of 47.6 HP (35 kW) at 9,400 rpm and peak torque of 43.5 Nm at 6,700 rpm. These are manufacturer-published specifications; the brochure’s rounded 48 HP figure is not a separate performance result. Aprilia Tuono 457 specifications and the Aprilia RS 457 specifications provide model-specific details.
Aprilia’s range material presents both models with a 5-inch TFT display, full LED lighting, traction control, three riding modes and dual-channel ABS. Both model pages list a 41 mm fork with 120 mm travel and preload-adjustable rear suspension with 130 mm travel. Treat those as equipment descriptions, and confirm exact standard or optional fitment for your market and trim with a local dealer.

Brakes, wheels and tires
The official model pages list 17-inch wheels and the same tire sizes for both bikes: 110/70 at the front and 150/60 at the rear. Each page also specifies a 320 mm front disc. The RS page identifies its front caliper as a radial-mount four-piston ByBre unit and lists a 220 mm rear disc. The Tuono page describes a radial front caliper and dual-channel Bosch ABS, including a mode that allows assistance on the front wheel only. Because the pages do not give identical component detail, do not assume every braking specification or configuration is the same.
Germany prices and market differences
Aprilia Germany’s February 2026 price list puts the Tuono 457 at €6,650 and the RS 457 at €7,250; both figures include €357 in ancillary costs. On that specific German list, the RS is €600 more. The figures are not a guide to prices in other countries, and prices, fees, available colors and equipment can change. Ask a local Aprilia dealer for a current, market-specific quote.

The same German list names Piranha Red and Puma Grey for the Tuono, and Opalescent Light, Prismatic Dark and Racing Stripes for the RS. Color availability is market- and date-dependent.

Aprilia’s materials describe accessories for the range. The Tuono brochure lists AQS (Aprilia Quick Shift) and a passenger-seat cover; its model page also describes AQS and Aprilia MIA in an accessory package. Those references do not establish that each item is standard on every bike. Check the quote for the exact model year, trim, market and included fitment.
