Price, variant and availability: the unresolved part of this comparison
Hero announced introductory Delhi ex-showroom prices of INR 72,000 for the VX Cast Drum and INR 79,000 for the ZX Cast Disc on 23 September 2025. Those were launch prices, not current on-road quotations; registration, insurance, taxes, accessories and dealer charges can change the amount substantially. Aprilia’s current SXR GT 175 hp-e page does not publish a price. A secondary comparison page updated 1 October 2026 lists Rs. 75,800 for the Destini 110 and Rs. 1.45 lakh for “Aprilia SXR 175”, but it does not replace a city-specific dealer quote or establish that the listed Aprilia name and specification exactly match the current GT 175 hp-e. Before comparing monthly payments or total cost, request written, same-city quotations for the exact variants. Ask each dealer to itemize:
- Ex-showroom price and any current introductory offer.
- Road tax, registration, insurance and handling or documentation charges.
- Accessories, extended warranty and service packages included or excluded.
- Expected delivery date, available colours and whether the displayed vehicle is the sellable production trim.
- Finance interest rate, processing fee, down payment and total repayment if you are borrowing.
The price gap suggested by the secondary listing may be decisive for a budget commuter, but the current Aprilia figure remains unresolved until a local quote is obtained.

Engine performance and what the numbers imply for commuting
Aprilia’s larger-output advantage
Aprilia lists 9.76 kW at 7,200 rpm and 14.14 Nm at 6,000 rpm from its 174.7 cm³ engine, plus a listed maximum speed of 95 km/hr. Compared with Hero’s published 6 kW and 8.7 Nm, those figures indicate considerably more available power and torque on paper. That reserve can matter when merging into faster traffic, climbing with a passenger or carrying luggage, although the figures do not predict acceleration, refinement or fuel consumption without controlled testing.
The Aprilia uses a CVT, so the rider does not shift manually. Its electronic injection and electric starter are conventional convenience features for a modern scooter. The manufacturer describes the model as a sports scooter with touring-oriented equipment rather than a stripped-down short-hop commuter.
Hero’s smaller engine and everyday priorities
Hero’s 110.9 cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine produces 6 kW at 7,250 rpm and 8.7 Nm at 5,750 rpm, also through a CVT. Those figures are lower than Aprilia’s, but a 110 cc scooter is aimed at the high-volume urban use case: repeated starts, moderate speeds, easy parking and low purchase exposure. Hero does not state a top speed in the cited product information, so do not infer one from the engine size.
Neither set of numbers is an independent acceleration or overtaking test. Traffic, rider mass, tyre pressure, gradient, wind, load and CVT calibration all affect the result. If your route includes a fast bypass, steep flyovers or frequent two-up riding, arrange a test ride with the intended passenger before deciding that the paper output is sufficient.
Fuel economy and running-cost expectations
What is actually published
Hero lists 56.2 kmpl for the Destini 110 on its current product page; the same figure also appears in the 23 September 2025 launch release. It is a company-published mileage figure, not a guarantee for every rider. Congestion, idling, short trips, tyre pressure, maintenance and load can all reduce an individual result. The cited Aprilia page does not provide an equivalent mileage result. Therefore, there is no evidenced, apples-to-apples fuel-economy winner in this comparison. A larger engine often offers more performance reserve, but it is not valid to convert displacement alone into a claimed kmpl difference.

How to make the economy decision responsibly
- Use Hero’s 56.2 kmpl only as a reference supplied by Hero, not as a personal guarantee.
- Ask the Aprilia dealer whether a current, region-specific test-cycle or owner-manual economy figure exists for the exact GT 175 hp-e variant.
- Record your own fuel use over several full-tank cycles after purchase rather than judging from a single commute.
- Include service intervals, tyre replacement, insurance and finance costs in the budget; the available sources do not establish a service-coverage or maintenance-cost comparison.

Aprilia SXR GT 175 hp-e

Hero characterized the seat as the longest in its segment; that is the company’s comparative claim, not an independently measured industry ranking. The current product page lists a 770 mm seat height, 114 kg kerb weight, 162 mm ground clearance and a 5.3-litre fuel tank. The apparent difference between the release’s 785 mm seat description and the product page’s 770 mm seat-height figure likely reflects different measurements; ask the dealer to explain the measurement used rather than treating them as interchangeable.
The wide platform and glove box are useful in stop-and-go commuting, while the backrest may help a regular passenger. The 114 kg published kerb weight can make low-speed manoeuvring less intimidating than a heavier touring scooter, but rider reach and balance are personal. A passenger test ride is especially important if the seat contour or footboard position affects knee angle.
Wheels, braking and rough-road suitability
Aprilia’s 14-inch wheels and ABS
Aprilia advertises 14-inch wheels, a 220 mm front disc with ABS and adjustable rear suspension. Larger-diameter wheels can help a scooter feel composed over broken surfaces, although tyre construction, suspension tuning and speed still determine the actual ride. ABS is a meaningful safety feature when a front-wheel lock is possible on wet or dusty pavement; it does not shorten every stop or remove the need for correct following distance. Confirm whether ABS is fitted to the exact local trim and understand which wheel or wheels the system controls.

Hero’s 12-inch package and variant split
Hero specifies 12-inch wheels and tubeless 90/90-12 front and 100/80-12 rear tyres. Its launch release mentions a 190 mm front disc, while the product page lists both VX Cast Drum and ZX Cast Disc versions. That means braking hardware cannot be summarized accurately without naming the variant. If you choose the VX Cast Drum, do not assume it has the ZX’s disc setup; read the invoice and inspect the vehicle.
The Destini’s 162 mm ground clearance is a useful published reference for speed breakers and broken urban lanes. Aprilia’s cited page does not state ground clearance, wheelbase or tyre dimensions, so compare those measurements during a physical inspection if your route includes steep ramps or unpaved sections.
Instruments, phone functions and daily convenience
The Aprilia’s 5-inch TFT is one of the clearest equipment differentiators. Aprilia lists Bluetooth, music and call management, and turn-by-turn navigation. These features can be valuable for a commuter who regularly crosses unfamiliar neighbourhoods, but pairing reliability, app compatibility, phone mounting, weather exposure and distraction still matter. Learn the controls while stationary and check whether navigation instructions remain readable in bright sunlight.
Hero’s cited product information emphasizes physical practicality—front glove box, boot lamp, wide platform and metal body panels—rather than providing an equivalent list of connected functions. If smartphone integration is a deciding factor, ask the dealer to demonstrate the exact Destini variant rather than extrapolating from another Hero model or an online photograph.

Short, congested city trips with a strict purchase budget
The Destini 110 is the logical starting point when acquisition cost and the published 56.2 kmpl figure matter more than high-speed reserve. Its smaller engine, 114 kg listed kerb weight and practical storage features suit repeated low-speed errands. Get the current on-road price first; the 2025 Delhi launch figures are not current nationwide prices.

Longer commutes, ring roads or frequent two-up riding
The SXR GT 175 hp-e deserves priority when the route involves sustained faster traffic, hills or a passenger and you value the higher published 9.76 kW and 14.14 Nm. Its 14-inch wheels, ABS, adjustable rear suspension and touring-oriented storage add equipment that the Destini specifications do not match. These are still reasons to test ride, not proof of superior comfort or acceleration.
Wet roads, emergency braking and safety equipment
Aprilia’s listed ABS and 220 mm front disc make it the more equipment-rich choice on paper. For the Destini, identify whether the quoted vehicle is VX Cast Drum or ZX Cast Disc and ask what safety hardware is standard in your city. Regardless of model, practise progressive braking, maintain tyres at the recommended pressure and leave stopping space.

Aprilia is the only one of the two with the cited 5-inch TFT, Bluetooth, music and call management, and turn-by-turn navigation. Choose it only after confirming that the functions work with your phone and that the current variant includes them. If you rarely use connected features, the premium may be difficult to justify against a lower-priced Destini quotation.
Riders facing speed breakers and uneven lanes
Hero publishes 162 mm of ground clearance, giving you a concrete figure to compare with your route. Aprilia’s page does not state clearance, although it does list 14-inch wheels and adjustable rear suspension. Ride both over the same representative surface at a safe speed; do not assume wheel diameter alone determines impact comfort.
What to verify at the dealership
- Write down the exact model and variant. For Aprilia, confirm that the quotation says SXR GT 175 hp-e rather than an older or differently named SXR. For Hero, identify VX Cast Drum or ZX Cast Disc.
- Obtain an itemized, city-specific on-road quote. Compare the same insurance duration, registration charges, accessories and warranty terms. Do not use the 2025 introductory Delhi prices as a current all-in figure.
- Inspect the equipment physically. Check the Aprilia TFT, Bluetooth pairing, navigation, ABS warning lamp, storage openings and suspension adjuster. On the Destini, inspect the brake type, glove box, boot lamp, body panels and tyre sizes.
- Take a representative test ride. Include a tight U-turn, speed breaker, rough patch, hill or flyover and a short faster section where legal. Repeat with your regular passenger if two-up use is normal.

The sources establish manufacturer specifications and selected price context, not comparative test results. For a final decision, prioritize a same-day quote and back-to-back test rides over an undated listing. If the Destini’s price and dealer support meet your needs, it is the sensible budget commuter. If the Aprilia quote is acceptable and you will use its extra output, ABS, wheel size, suspension adjustability and connected equipment, the SXR GT 175 hp-e justifies consideration as the more capable, equipment-rich option.
