Match claimed range to daily distance
Zelio claims up to 120 km per charge, but that is a manufacturer-published figure, not an independently verified real-world result. The cited Aprilia brochure gives a 7-litre tank but no fuel-economy or range figure. Compare your usual daily distance with the range information the seller can substantiate, and leave room for route, load and usage differences rather than planning around a best-case number.

Zelio describes the X-Men+ as a low-speed scooter and says no driving licence or registration is required under the stated category. That should not be taken as a blanket legal guarantee: requirements depend on the vehicle’s classification and exact configuration. Confirm compliance for the specific vehicle with the dealer or relevant authority before using it on public roads.

- Confirm the exact Aprilia variant. Ask the dealer for the model-year specification sheet and verify whether the vehicle is the SXR 125 or a distinct SXR GT 125 version.
- Test your route against 25 km/h. If the Zelio’s listed maximum speed is inadequate for the roads you need to use, it is not the practical choice for that commute.
- Get a local, configuration-specific quote. Compare on-road prices, and for the Zelio identify the battery type and written warranty terms.
- Check charging and service access. Confirm you can charge where you live and identify nearby service support for either scooter.
- Compare ownership costs using your own inputs. Use your daily distance, local petrol and electricity costs, and verified fuel-consumption or range information rather than treating the Zelio’s claimed range as guaranteed.
Verdict
The Zelio X-Men+ is the more relevant option for short, local journeys if a 25 km/h maximum speed suits the route and charging is practical. The documented Aprilia SXR 125 is the more appropriate category to investigate when normal road speed and petrol refuelling are priorities, but its official figures should not be presented as confirmed SXR GT 125 specifications. Verify the Aprilia’s exact variant and both scooters’ current local prices before choosing.
