What the Andover-One DD is—and who it is for
The DD is designed to work as a source in a conventional hi-fi system or as the turntable partner for Andover Audio’s Andover-One SB speaker base. You do not need the SB to use the turntable: Andover also describes connecting it to a receiver’s phono input or to an external phono preamplifier.
That gives buyers two practical setup paths. If you already have compatible audio equipment, the DD can join that system. If you want Andover’s matched setup, the SB is an optional partner rather than part of the turntable itself. The available product information does not establish that either configuration sounds better than the other.

Andover specifies digitally controlled direct drive and playback at 33⅓, 45 and 78 RPM. That range accommodates records intended for all three speeds; select the speed that matches the record rather than assuming every LP uses 33⅓ RPM.

The company lists speed accuracy within 0.2% and wow and flutter below 0.15%. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured test results. Andover also describes optical automation: the platter starts automatically, and the turntable stops at the end of a record. According to the company, its optical system detects the end without mechanically contacting internal mechanisms.
Tonearm, cartridge and upgrade flexibility
The DD has an 8.8-inch straight carbon-fiber tonearm with adjustments for tracking force, anti-skating and vertical tracking angle. Andover says the turntable ships with an Audio-Technica AT-VM520xEB moving-magnet cartridge already fitted.

Price and availability at launch
Gear Patrol reported a $999 price and said the turntable was available when its launch article was published on October 1, 2026. Andover Audio’s product page, as retrieved October 3, instead stated “Shipping week of 10/5/26.” Those statements reflect different points around launch; check Andover’s current listing for the price, inventory and shipping timing before ordering. The cited product information does not provide a current official price.
Gear Patrol also reported a matte-black finish and a $1,099 price for the optional Andover-One SB at launch. Treat that as a reported launch detail, not a confirmed current price.
