Aioi Nissay Dowa Europe (AND-E) says it has improved fleet-claims service since bringing its UK Motor Fleet claims operation in-house. The insurer reports faster resolution, less vehicle downtime and lower credit-hire spend, but it has published no figures or independent evaluation to show the size of those gains.
What changed in AND-E’s UK Motor Fleet claims operation?
AND-E says that it brought its entire UK Motor Fleet claims operation in-house and that, since August 2025, a dedicated team at its Newcastle Centre of Excellence has managed every claim in that category. The insurer describes the change as having taken place about a year before its account was published. AND-E’s account of the change does not detail the previous handling arrangement, staffing levels, or the precise operating model.
What improvements does the insurer report?
AND-E says brokers and fleet clients are seeing improvements in four areas:
- Faster claims resolution.
- Less vehicle downtime.
- Stronger capture of third-party claims, which the insurer says reduces credit-hire spend.
- A more responsive, customer-focused experience.
These are qualitative claims from AND-E, not independently verified findings. The insurer’s post gives no resolution-time reduction, downtime measure, credit-hire savings figure, customer-satisfaction score, comparison group, or measurement period beyond its first-year framing.

Did insourcing make claims faster to resolve?
AND-E says resolution is faster, but the publicly available material cited here does not quantify the improvement or establish that insourcing alone caused it. There is no disclosed before-and-after claims data or independent assessment. Driver Intelligence’s industry-news index also describes the improvement as significant, without supplying a measurement or explaining how it was assessed.
To assess the scale of the reported change, readers would need the underlying claims data, definitions of resolution and downtime, baseline and comparison periods, and information about claim mix or other operational changes that could affect the results. Those details are not provided in the cited accounts.
