ALSO calls this system DreamRide, and the result is closer to a compact electric vehicle with bicycle controls than a traditional e-bike.
The important buying detail is timing. ALSO’s current model selector lists both the TM-B and TM-B Performance for late 2026, so neither should be treated as a generally available production bike yet. The earlier Launch Edition was targeted for spring 2026, but ALSO’s reservation agreement does not guarantee a delivery date or final specification.

Reservations are currently limited to U.S. residents aged 18 or older. The agreement says the reservation fee is refundable if canceled, with refunds generally processed in approximately five to 10 business days.

These are the current listed starting prices from ALSO’s model selector. Taxes, fees, accessories, and final configuration costs may be extra. ALSO has not published a definitive current public price for the Launch Edition in the reservation agreement; its final price is to be provided in the purchase agreement and price sheet.
The range numbers are estimates, not guarantees. Rider weight, hills, wind, temperature, tire choice, riding mode, speed, and assist level can all reduce real-world range. A rider who regularly uses the throttle or travels at Class 3 speeds should expect less than the headline figure.

ALSO offers a Road package with 24 x 2.6-inch on-road tires and an All Terrain package using ALSO x Kenda 24 x 2.6-inch off-road tires. The Performance version adds stronger assistance, Sport modes, and upgraded suspension equipment.
DreamRide pedal-by-wire system explained
The TM-B does not work like a normal bicycle. The pedals are not mechanically connected directly to the rear wheel. Instead, pedaling turns a generator, and software determines how much power the electric motor sends to the wheel.

That arrangement allows ALSO to control the rider’s cadence and pedal resistance independently from road speed. It also means the bike can provide a consistent pedaling sensation as the terrain changes. The tradeoff is that the system depends heavily on electronics, sensors, software, and battery power. It is not a conventional bicycle drivetrain that can simply be ridden normally if the electrical system fails.
The TM-B uses a toothed carbon-fiber belt rather than a lubricated chain. That should reduce routine drivetrain maintenance and eliminate chain oil on clothing, although it does not make the bike maintenance-free.

Ride modes and performance features
- Auto mode: The rider chooses a preferred cadence, while DreamRide adjusts assistance to maintain it.
- Manual mode: The rider selects pedal resistance and software-defined gearing.
- Hill Flattening: Adds torque on climbs to reduce the perceived effort of steep grades.
- Regenerative braking: Sends some braking energy back to the battery. The level can be adjusted in the bike settings.
- Throttle: Can propel the bike without pedaling up to 20 mph where local rules allow it.
Throttle behavior is jurisdiction-dependent. In some states or localities, the control may be limited to an assist boost instead of operating as a standalone 20-mph motor control. Buyers should check local e-bike regulations rather than assuming the same functionality everywhere.
The regular TM-B is rated at 5× assist. The Performance trim increases that to 10× and adds Sport ride modes. ALSO quotes up to 180 Nm of peak wheel torque and gradeability of up to 30%, but those figures should not be interpreted as a promise that every rider, battery state, or surface will produce the same result.

Both battery versions charge over USB-C at up to 240 watts. The battery has two USB-C ports: one bidirectional port and one output-only port. It can therefore be used as a portable power bank as well as an e-bike battery.

The large battery is associated with the TM-B Performance’s listed 100-mile range, while the standard TM-B is listed with the 60-mile battery. Neither figure represents a guaranteed trip distance, and charging times may vary with the charger, temperature, battery condition, and charging profile.

One of the TM-B’s most distinctive features is its interchangeable top-frame system. ALSO says the upper module can be changed without tools in under three seconds. Three configurations are planned:
- Solo: A riding-focused layout for an individual rider.
- Utility: A cargo and passenger layout compatible with MIK HD accessories.
- Bench: A one-size-fits-all cruiser-style layout intended to work particularly well with throttle riding.
There is a published specification conflict worth noting. The current TM-B product page lists the Utility top frame with a 300-pound top-frame load and a 77-pound rear-cargo load. ALSO’s separate top-frame page lists a 276-pound payload for the Utility configuration. Until the company reconciles those figures, buyers should not treat 300 pounds as an unconditional usable payload rating.
ALSO’s sizing guidance also varies slightly between its pages. The main product page gives approximate rider ranges of 4 feet 11 inches to 5 feet 8 inches for the small frame and 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet 8 inches for the large frame. Because the ranges overlap on some published material, an in-person fit check remains preferable.
Display, lights, and connectivity
The TM-B’s Portal is a 2.75-inch high-resolution touchscreen. It displays speed, battery charge, assist level, and energy input or output. ALSO says it will also support turn-by-turn navigation and music or podcast controls.

Lighting equipment is more substantial than on many commuter e-bikes:
- 1,500-lumen headlight
- 250-lumen rear light
- Front and rear turn signals
- Rear lighting designed to illuminate the rider’s pedaling motion
Connectivity hardware includes GPS, Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, and LTE-M. The bike is designed to receive over-the-air software updates, which could allow ALSO to change or expand functions after delivery.
ALSO app and Connect+ subscription
ALSO says its app is intended to provide location tracking, tamper alerts, remote locking and unlocking, charging status, navigation, and software updates. However, the product page currently describes the app as “Available soon on Apple and Android.” Those functions should therefore be treated as planned or dependent on final availability, not as features guaranteed to be active on every bike at launch.
ALSO lists its optional Connect+ service at $15 per month or $120 per year. Planned features include tamper alerts, remote disabling, and real-time GPS tracking. The company says pricing may change and that complete service details will be provided closer to first deliveries.

What to consider before reserving one
- Confirm the delivery language. “Late 2026” is a current shipping window, not a firm delivery date. The Launch Edition reservation agreement also disclaims guaranteed delivery.
- Budget beyond the headline price. Add taxes, accessories, possible subscription costs, safety equipment, and any final configuration charges.
- Decide whether pedal-by-wire suits you. It offers software-controlled cadence and resistance, but it is fundamentally different from a bicycle with a direct mechanical drivetrain.
- Check local rules. Class 3 operation and throttle behavior vary by jurisdiction.
- Clarify the payload rating. Ask ALSO which Utility capacity applies to the exact frame and accessory configuration you intend to buy.
- Expect an 80-pound vehicle. That weight may be manageable while riding but difficult to lift into a vehicle, carry up steps, or store on a conventional bike rack.

The sensible buying position is to treat the current specifications and late-2026 timing as provisional. Before paying or reserving, confirm the final battery, frame, payload rating, subscription requirements, local throttle rules, and delivery terms directly with ALSO.
