The company has not published the segment denominator or calculation method in the cited release, so the figure cannot be independently reproduced from that announcement alone.
What Acura reported
In its September 2026 sales release, American Honda wrote that the “ADX continues to lead its segment with around 30% of retail sales.” The release describes the model as a “premium gateway crossover” and presents the share as part of Acura’s sales highlights.
The same release reports 25,211 ADX sales year to date through September 2026, 2,701 units sold in September (up 20.9% year over year), and Q3 sales growth of 22%. These are manufacturer-reported figures; the release does not provide an outside dataset or a segment-by-segment sales table to verify the share independently.
What “30% market share” means—and what it does not
The headline shorthand “market share” needs a boundary: American Honda’s more precise claim is that the ADX represents around 30% of retail sales in its segment. It does not mean that the ADX makes up 30% of the U.S. auto market, 30% of Acura sales, or 30% of all crossover sales.

The September release does not identify the segment’s exact definition, the total retail sales used as its denominator, or the calculation method. As a result, readers can report the automaker’s claim with attribution, but cannot calculate or audit the percentage using that release alone. A comparison with another vehicle would require a consistent segment definition and period, and comparable retail-sales data.
How the reported share changed over time
American Honda reported a smaller share during the ADX’s early launch period, then described the figure as around 30% in later updates:

They provide context for the manufacturer’s claim over time; they do not establish an independently measured trend or explain how the company defines the segment.
