Acer introduced its ebii electric bike in March 2023, describing it as an AI-driven commuter bike. That announcement and Acer’s later e-mobility products show an expansion into electric mobility—not evidence that the company has stopped making PCs or pivoted away from them.

The ebii is a single-motor electric bike Acer announced on March 20, 2023, for urban commuting. Acer said its ebiiAssist system adapts motor assistance to riding conditions, pedaling power and rider preferences. The company also described ebiiRide modes for conserving power, balancing assistance or increasing speed and output.

Acer’s March 2023 announcement reported the following figures. They are manufacturer-stated specifications, not independent test results, and Acer said specifications, prices and availability vary by region. Acer’s announcement is the source for this version’s figures.

Does the ebii mean Acer is leaving PCs?
No evidence in the cited announcements or store listing establishes that Acer has abandoned PC making or completed a shift away from PCs. The ebii demonstrates that Acer is also pursuing electric mobility. Later Acer announcements describe a broader portfolio that includes e-bikes, e-scooters and connected mobility software, which is evidence of expansion rather than a documented PC-business exit. Acer’s Acer Gadget announcement and Acer’s mobility announcement describe that wider activity.
In its 2023 announcement, Acer Co-COO Jerry Kao said: “The all-new Acer ebii delivers on our commitment to sustainability via technology and creative design, further driven by the desire to enhance our users’ mobility and experiences.” The statement frames the bike as an extension of Acer’s technology and mobility work, not as a declaration that it is replacing its PC business.
