The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 is a customer competition car introduced in 2024, not a road Vantage with a race kit. It shares mechanical architecture with the road car but pairs that foundation with GT3-specific aerodynamics, suspension, electronics, safety equipment and drivetrain hardware. Aston Martin lists its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 at more than 400 kW and more than 700 Nm, with both figures variable by boost.
What the Vantage GT3 is—and what it shares with the road car
Aston Martin introduced the current-generation Vantage GT3 on 12 February 2024. The manufacturer says it shares mechanical architecture with the new Vantage road car and uses the marque’s bonded-aluminium chassis structure. That common foundation does not make the GT3 a road-car conversion: it is designed and equipped as a competition car for regulated GT racing.
Aston Martin’s launch description emphasizes an all-new aerodynamic package, revised suspension and updated electronics for the new generation. The result is a car whose road-car relationship is best understood as shared architecture, while its systems and specification are shaped for racing.
Engine, power and transmission
4.0-litre twin-turbo V8
The manufacturer’s February 2024 technical specification lists a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with bespoke BorgWarner turbos, integrated electric wastegates, an Akrapovič exhaust with catalytic converters and dry-sump lubrication. Aston Martin says the engine is repositioned to optimize mass distribution.
#1 Best Overall
- Brand new box
- Real rubber tires.
- Detailed interior, exterior,
- Made of diecast metal with some plastic parts.
- Officially licensed product
Aston Martin publishes output as more than 400 kW and more than 700 Nm, with each figure variable by boost. These are manufacturer specification figures, not independently measured outputs. Actual power delivery in competition is also subject to the applicable series rules and event controls.
Rear-wheel drive and sequential gearbox
The Vantage GT3 sends power to the rear wheels through an Xtrac six-speed sequential transmission and multi-plate clutch. Its specification also includes paddle shifting, a mechanical limited-slip differential and traction control.
Race-specific chassis and equipment
The published specification identifies a range of equipment that distinguishes the GT3 from a road-going Vantage:

- Part of the popular Exotics range - Collector's number 125/250 from the current 2026 mainline
- Race-inspired super sports car with aerodynamic body kit, rear wing and aggressive design
- Metal body with precise plastic details - durable, stable and high-quality workmanship
- Exclusive metallic turquoise paint with contrasting racing stripes - a real eye-catcher
- Chassis and safety: aluminium chassis based on the latest production car and an FIA-standard steel roll cage.
- Suspension: double wishbones, five-way adjustable dampers and adjustable anti-roll bars.
- Braking: Alcon brakes, Bosch Motorsport ABS and driver-adjustable brake bias.
- Fuel and wheels: a 120-litre FIA-standard fuel cell; forged wheels measuring 12.5 by 18 inches at the front and 13 by 18 inches at the rear.
These are specification details, not a guarantee that every car will run the same setup at every event. Teams work within the regulations and event-specific conditions when preparing the car.
Why GT3 weight and performance figures need context
GT3 is a regulated category, and the FIA publishes technical regulations and competition documents through its GT3 regulations index. A car’s listed homologation details should not be confused with the limits or settings applied at a particular race: Balance of Performance (BoP) is documented for a defined specification and context.
For the Vantage GT3 EVO, the FIA’s document titled “2024 Balance of Performance for 2022-2024 FIA GT3 Specifications,” published 9 April 2024, lists a 1,265 kg homologation weight and a 1,310 kg minimum weight in that document’s context. Neither figure is a timeless curb weight, nor should the minimum be treated as universal across series or events. The applicable BoP and event rules matter.

For LMGT3, the 2025 ACO-FIA regulations require an eligible manufacturer’s car to comply with FIA GT3 regulations as well as LMGT3-specific requirements, with homologation validated before competition. The regulations state a period from 1 January 2024 through the end of 2028. That framework is distinct from treating a single GT3 BoP table as a permanent specification.
A meaningful comparison between GT3 cars should therefore identify the series, class, event, year and BoP document or edition. The FIA’s 2024 GT3 BoP and its 2025 FIA GT World Cup BoP are different documents for different contexts; their figures are not a like-for-like head-to-head comparison on their own.

The available manufacturer specification provides the core hardware and boost-variable power and torque figures, while FIA and ACO-FIA documents explain how regulations and event-specific controls frame competition. The cited results establish named team and class outcomes at particular events and seasons. They do not provide an independently measured lap-time comparison, fuel-economy figure or reliability dataset, so none can be inferred from the specification or those results.
