Jerry Seinfeld’s publicly documented collection is centered on Porsche, but no authoritative source establishes how many cars he owns today. The record instead shows a changing group of road cars, racing cars and one-off projects, with auction catalogs documenting former holdings and Porsche documenting at least one recent delivery.
Why Porsche is the collection’s clear center
Porsche describes Seinfeld as a Porsche fan and collector, and his cars are closely associated with Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. His interests extend beyond a single generation of 911: the documented examples include early sports cars, modernized classics, factory racing machinery and a bespoke project created through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program.
That evidence supports calling the collection Porsche-focused. It does not support a definitive present-day inventory or a reliable total count.
Documented cars and what their records actually establish
| Car | Role and significance | What is documented about Seinfeld | Current-status wording |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupe | One-off road car based on a 1998 911 Carrera, with chassis, brakes and engine from a 996.2-generation 911 GT3 | Porsche reported that Seinfeld took personal possession in 2023. Porsche Classic developed it with Porsche Club of America through the Sonderwunsch program. | Documented as taken into his possession in 2023; later status is not established here. |
| 1973 Porsche 917/30 Can-Am Spyder | Major racing car and one of the most significant competition Porsches associated with the collection | Gooding & Company listed it among cars from Seinfeld’s collection announced for its March 11, 2016 Amelia Island auction. | Formerly documented in the collection; present ownership is not established. |
| 1959 Porsche 718 RSK | Historic Porsche racing sports car | Gooding & Company included it in the same 2016 collection-consignment announcement. | Formerly documented in the collection; present ownership is not established. |
| 1994 Porsche 911 Speedster | Limited-production US-market road car, one of 469 built for the 1994 US market | RM Sotheby’s says Seinfeld ordered and owned it and had it upgraded by Andial. The auction house reported a $511,000 sale at its Monterey 2026 auction. | Former Seinfeld car; the reported 2026 sale means it should not be presented as a current holding. |
| 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster | Collector road car with documented Seinfeld provenance | RM Sotheby’s says Seinfeld acquired it, then that it left his collection in 2000. The catalog records a later sale in 2024. | Former holding, not a current Seinfeld car on the available record. |
| 1949 Porsche 356/2 | Early Gmünd-built Porsche; Porsche identifies this particular car as number 40 in a 52-car production series | Porsche reported Seinfeld and Jay Leno driving it in California in connection with the television series. | The cited account establishes use in the show context, not that Seinfeld owned the car. |
The one-off 911 Classic Club Coupe
The strongest recent ownership record is Porsche’s June 2, 2023 report on the 911 Classic Club Coupe. Seinfeld took possession of the one-of-one car after Porsche Classic built it in collaboration with Porsche Club of America.
#1 Best Overall
- PREMIUM QUALITY: Constructed with durable die-cast metal body, featuring clear windows, detailed interior, and precision-engineered components
- Pullback Action
- FUNCTIONAL FEATURES: Opening doors and pull-back motor action provide interactive play experience while maintaining collector-grade detail
- PERFECT DISPLAY SIZE: Compact 5-inch length makes it ideal for showcasing, with proportionate dimensions that capture the iconic sports car's essence
- COLLECTIBLE VALUE: Meticulously crafted replica perfect for die-cast car enthusiasts and Porsche fans, suitable for ages 3 and up
Its starting point was a 1998 911 Carrera, while key running and structural hardware came from a 996.2-generation 911 GT3. That combination makes it more than a standard restored 911: it is a modern custom interpretation assembled around a specific older Carrera.
Racing cars show the collection’s breadth
Gooding & Company’s February 5, 2016 announcement placed a 1973 917/30 Can-Am Spyder and a 1959 718 RSK among cars from Seinfeld’s collection offered for its Amelia Island auction. Those records establish that the cars were consigned from the collection at that time. They do not establish who owns either car now, nor do they by themselves prove that either car sold in that auction.

- Doors Open
- Pullback Action
- Die Cast Metal Body
- PULL BACK ACTION WITH FREE ROLLING WHEELS
This distinction matters with high-profile collector cars. An auction announcement is a dated provenance record, not a permanent ownership statement.
Former Speedsters and the importance of provenance
The 1989 911 Speedster
RM Sotheby’s 2024 catalog provides an unusually clear timeline: Seinfeld acquired the car, it left his collection in 2000, and it was later sold through the auction market in 2024. It is therefore evidence of a notable former holding, not proof that the car remains with him.

The 1994 911 Speedster
RM Sotheby’s says Seinfeld originally ordered and owned this car and commissioned an Andial upgrade. The catalog identifies it as one of 469 built for the US market for 1994 and reports a $511,000 result at the Monterey 2026 auction. Both figures belong to that specific auction-house record; neither measures the value or size of the overall collection.
How many cars does Jerry Seinfeld own?
The available authoritative records do not answer that question. They document selected cars, historical consignments and one recent possession, rather than a complete current inventory. A single number repeated without a date, scope and method would therefore be misleading.

The safest description is that Seinfeld has maintained a substantial Porsche-centered collection whose contents have changed over time. Some cars remain tied to a 2023 possession record, while others are explicitly former holdings or are documented only through a past collection consignment.

In a Porsche interview, Seinfeld described the 911 as “A true sports car. Intelligent, complete engineering, and brilliant design language.” The comment helps explain the recurring 911 emphasis, from Speedsters to the Classic Club Coupe, without proving ownership of any particular car today.

How to read claims about the collection
- “From Seinfeld’s collection” is a statement about provenance at a stated point in time.
- “Owned by Seinfeld” should be used only when the source explicitly says so, and it should be dated when the record is historical.
- “Took possession” is the appropriate wording for Porsche’s 2023 Classic Club Coupe report.
- “Appeared with Seinfeld” does not automatically mean Seinfeld owned the car, as the 1949 356/2 example shows.
- Production figures such as 52 cars for the 1949 356/2 series or 469 US-market 1994 Speedsters describe the model or series, not Seinfeld’s collection size.
