There is no sound basis here for calling ten distinct bikes new for 2025 or 2026. The available manufacturer information supports seven touring candidates, including two electric models; only the Riese & Müller Delite5 has explicit 2026 model-year documentation. This guide compares those current options by intended use and drivetrain rather than presenting older or unverified models as new launches.
The right touring bike depends on your fit, luggage load, route surface, local repair options and whether you want electric assistance. The bikes below are not a head-to-head test, and manufacturer comfort or capability claims should be treated as such.
Seven touring bikes to consider
The list separates conventional touring bikes from electric options: they serve different priorities and should not be ranked as though they were equivalent. Specifications and configurations can vary by market and build, so confirm the exact bike with the manufacturer or dealer.
| Bike | Category and useful distinction | Documented configuration or feature |
|---|---|---|
| KOGA WorldTraveller Rohloff | Trekking and touring | KOGA describes an integrated rear rack and says its 27.5-inch wheels accommodate tires up to 72 mm with mudguards fitted. |
| Santos Travelmaster 3+ | Configurable touring bike | Pinion gearbox configuration: 12 gears standard, with an 18-speed option. |
| Nua Luna Rohloff | Titanium commuter and touring bike | Nua describes its geometry as intended for long-distance comfort and stability under load, and offers custom geometry. |
| Thorn Nomad Mk3 | Expedition or adventure touring, depending on build | Thorn describes 26-inch V-brake builds for serious expedition touring, and 650b or 700c options for adventure or lightweight touring. These are distinct configuration contexts. |
| Co-Motion Americano | Self-supported touring | Drivetrain choices listed by Co-Motion include Shimano 2×11, Rohloff 14-speed and Pinion. |
| Riese & Müller Nevo5 touring | Electric touring | The manufacturer lists model specifications and notes compatibility with tagalong trailer bikes, subject to local law. |
| Riese & Müller Delite5 touring | Electric touring; UK model-year 2026 documentation | The UK brochure lists derailleur, Enviolo belt and Rohloff belt variants. Those documented variants do not establish equivalent availability in every market. |
These descriptions draw on manufacturer pages from KOGA, Santos, Nua, Thorn, Co-Motion and Riese & Müller, plus a UK brochure for the Delite5. They establish candidate features, not comparative performance, current stock or prices.

Which kind of touring bike fits your trip?
Road touring and mixed surfaces
For paved routes and maintained gravel, begin with fit, riding position, tire clearance and the luggage you actually plan to carry. The KOGA WorldTraveller’s documented tire clearance—with mudguards retained—may matter if you expect rougher surfaces or want a wide tire, but clearance alone does not establish how a particular loaded bike will ride. Confirm the tires and rack included in the specific build.
Expedition loads and remote routes
For heavy loads or routes where replacement parts may be difficult to find, prioritize a stable fit under load, robust luggage support and components that a shop along your route can service. The Thorn Nomad Mk3 is the clearest expedition-oriented candidate in this group, but choose its wheel and brake configuration for the intended terrain and repair environment. Thorn’s 26-inch V-brake expedition context is not interchangeable with its 650b or 700c adventure/lightweight touring options.
Self-supported travel with configurable gearing
The Co-Motion Americano is explicitly positioned by its maker for self-supported adventures and offers three drivetrain approaches. The Santos Travelmaster 3+ provides a Pinion option with the stated 12- or 18-gear choices. The Nua Luna adds custom geometry as an option, which may be useful when a standard frame fit is unsuitable; Nua’s comfort and load-stability language is a manufacturer claim, not an independent fit assessment.
Electric assistance
The Nevo5 touring and Delite5 touring are powered bikes, not direct substitutes for unassisted touring models. Compare the exact motor and battery configuration, regional speed class, supported luggage setup and the availability of service along your route. The Delite5’s cited model-year 2026 documentation is a UK brochure, so check local specifications rather than assuming those variants apply elsewhere.
Rank #2
- Front suspension fork, alloy crank, and a city rise adjustable stem, 19-inch frame fit to riders 5'9" to 6'1" tall
- 21-speed SRAM grip shifter and rear derailleur, uphill pedaling becomes more effortless, while the alloy twist shifter is compatible with 4 finger brake levers
- Promax alloy linear pull brakes provide reliable stopping power, while the alloy ahead stem allows for easy adjustment of the angle (rise)
- Experience a comfortable ride with the swept-back upright handlebars, padded seat, and lightweight yet durable aluminum frame
- Bicycle has fenders that protect riders from dirt and to ensure a clean and enjoyable ride while the rear cargo carrier adds convenience
How to compare touring bikes before buying
Fit and all-day comfort
Start with frame size, geometry, reach and riding position, then assess the bike with the load you expect to carry. A bike that feels comfortable unloaded can fit differently once bags are mounted and the front and rear carry weight. Ask whether a test ride or fit adjustment is possible; a maker’s description of comfort cannot replace an assessment of your own fit.
Luggage capacity and mounting
Distinguish an included rack from a rack that is optional, supported by mounts or integrated into the frame. KOGA describes the WorldTraveller rear rack as integrated, but equipment can differ by build. Check rack load limits, mounting points for front and rear bags, bottle-cage positions and clearance around panniers before committing to a setup.
Wheels, tires and route surface
Compare actual tire clearance, wheel size and whether the stated clearance assumes mudguards. KOGA specifies up to 72 mm tires on 27.5-inch wheels with mudguards still fitted. For the Thorn Nomad Mk3, confirm which wheel configuration is being quoted: its expedition and adventure/lightweight descriptions refer to different builds.
Gearing and field service
Derailleur gearing, internal hubs and gearboxes involve different maintenance and repair trade-offs. Cyclingnews’ general touring-bike guidance says belt drives do not need regular cleaning or lubrication, while internal gearing is less exposed to damage but costs more and weighs more than a derailleur system. These are general observations, not tests of the individual bikes listed here.

For a long trip, ask a local mechanic—or shops along the route—whether they can service the chosen system and obtain its parts. The documented options illustrate the range: the Travelmaster 3+ offers a Pinion gearbox configuration, while the Americano lists Shimano 2×11, Rohloff 14-speed and Pinion choices. A belt drive also requires a compatible frame and drivetrain configuration; do not assume a belt can be fitted to any touring frame.
Brakes and repair familiarity
Choose a braking system that suits the route and that you or a nearby shop can maintain. KOGA says disc brakes are fitted to its trekking bikes, but the available information does not establish a comparative braking result for these candidates. Thorn’s expedition-oriented 26-inch V-brake build is a separate configuration to consider in light of local service and replacement-part access.
Electric system and regional specification
For an e-touring bike, compare the exact battery arrangement, motor system, speed class and local service support for the market where you will buy and ride. The Delite5 brochure documents UK variants; it does not establish the same parts or configurations in other regions. For the Nevo5, confirm the trailer-bike setup and check local rules before using it with a tagalong.
A practical shortlist by rider priority
- Wide tires with mudguards: Investigate the KOGA WorldTraveller Rohloff’s documented clearance, then confirm the exact build and rack equipment.
- Expedition-focused configuration choices: Compare the Thorn Nomad Mk3’s distinct wheel and brake setups against your terrain and access to repairs.
- Gearbox or hub options: Compare the Santos Travelmaster 3+ and Co-Motion Americano configurations, including what local shops can service.
- Custom fit needs: Ask Nua about the Luna’s custom-geometry process and what measurements or lead times apply to your market.
- Electric assistance: Compare the Nevo5 touring with the UK-documented Delite5 touring only after verifying regional specifications and service.
For every candidate, obtain a current regional quote and written confirmation of included equipment, warranty and service arrangements. Pricing, inventory and after-sales availability are not established by the specifications summarized here.
