Husqvarna’s Vitpilen 801 Custom stands out for its race-inspired hardware, unusual tail-routed exhaust and vivid yellow finish. It is a one-off, non-road-legal EICMA 2024 showbike—not a production Vitpilen specification. KISKA, the design studio behind the build, puts the distinction plainly: “It’s not road legal; but that’s the point.”
What is the Vitpilen 801 Custom?
Husqvarna describes the custom motorcycles unveiled at EICMA 2024 as exclusive builds, and KISKA calls this Vitpilen a one-of-a-kind showbike. Husqvarna’s customization article, dated April 17, 2025, presents it as an expression of what can be done with the Vitpilen 801 rather than a standard model for sale. Husqvarna also cautions that custom-build illustrations may differ from production models or include optional equipment.
The seven details below are documented by Husqvarna and KISKA; they explain the concept, not a measured performance advantage. No comparative test results or performance figures are reported for this build.
Seven features that define the custom build
1. WP APEX PRO suspension
Husqvarna highlights WP APEX PRO suspension as both a handling-focused component and a visual feature of the build. The designation identifies the suspension hardware; the available descriptions do not quantify how it changes handling compared with the production motorcycle.

2. Brembo braking hardware
Husqvarna lists Brembo GP4 calipers and FR T floating discs. KISKA uses different, more specific names for its build: GP4-MS calipers and T-drive discs. Those descriptions should be kept source-specific rather than treated as interchangeable labels. Neither source supplies braking-distance or other test data.
3. A custom exhaust routed through the tail
The exhaust takes an unusual route through the tail, making it a defining visual element. KISKA says the custom system is ceramic-coated and shaped to serve as a centerpiece. The sources do not establish a power gain or provide details to confirm that this system is available for road-going bikes.

4. Airbox removal and the airflow concept
Husqvarna describes the airbox as removed to accommodate the exhaust routing and maximize airflow, calling the idea “Max air design.” That is the builder’s design rationale, not a verified airflow or engine-performance result. The change belongs to the showbike’s custom configuration.
5. Aerodynamic details and bodywork
Husqvarna names an aerodynamic windshield and rear rim cover among the build’s details. KISKA describes refined aerodynamics and carbon-fibre components. These pieces give the bike a more deliberately sculpted appearance, but no measured aerodynamic benefit is reported.

6. A flatter handlebar and sportier posture
KISKA says it adjusted the riding posture with a flatter handlebar, giving the bike sportier, more expressive ergonomics. The design description does not specify a measured change in reach, rider comfort or control, so the effect for an individual rider cannot be inferred from the showbike presentation alone.
7. Custom yellow paint and matching accents
The yellow color scheme is carried through with matching highlights on the radiator covers, windshield and seat, according to KISKA. Husqvarna identifies the finish as a custom color scheme. It ties the bike’s bodywork and hardware into a distinctive showbike look.

What these features mean for Vitpilen 801 owners
The build is useful as a source of customization ideas: suspension and braking hardware, exhaust routing, bodywork, rider posture, and color or material choices. It is not evidence that every component is sold as a road-legal accessory, fits every production Vitpilen 801, or is approved in every market.
Husqvarna offers a Vitpilen 801 customization booklet outlining parts used in its build and points owners toward Technical Accessories. Treat that as a starting point, not a fitment guarantee. Before ordering or installing a part, confirm its part number, compatibility with your model year and market, road-use requirements, and availability with Husqvarna or an authorized dealer. In particular, do not assume the showbike’s suspension, brakes or exhaust are direct-fit production-bike upgrades.

The build also includes a removed taillight. That is a showbike modification, not a cue that the resulting motorcycle is road legal; KISKA explicitly says the custom is not road legal.
