Three electric vehicles in the available evidence have a lower claimed 0–60 mph time than the 2027 Porsche 911 Carrera: the 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N, 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS and 2025 Kia EV6 GT. Their reported starting prices are also far below the Carrera’s $135,500 starting MSRP. “Keep up” here means straight-line acceleration to 60 mph—not equivalent handling, braking, track performance or driving feel.
What counts as keeping up with a 911?
The comparison is with the 2027 Porsche 911 Carrera, not every 911. Porsche lists the base Carrera at $135,500 and 3.9 seconds from 0 to 60 mph. That is the benchmark for the three EVs below. These are published claims, not results from a common independent test, so the times should not be read as a head-to-head test on identical surfaces and conditions.
The target changes with the 911 trim. Porsche lists the 2027 Carrera S at $156,200 and 3.3 seconds to 60 mph; the Carrera GTS at $181,000 and 2.9 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package; and the Turbo S at $270,300 and 2.4 seconds. None of the three EV claims below is quicker than all those trims.
Three lower-priced EVs with quicker claims than the base Carrera
The prices below are US starting prices captured for the specified model years, not live dealer quotes or after-incentive prices. The 2025 Chevrolet and Kia figures were reported by the Associated Press; the Hyundai figures come from Hyundai Motor America’s 2026 model-year page.

| Vehicle | Starting price | 0–60 mph claim | Range claim |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N | $59,900 starting MSRP; freight and other charges excluded (Hyundai Motor America) | Approximately 3.25 seconds with N Launch Control and N Grin Boost engaged (Hyundai Motor America) | 221 miles, EPA-estimated (Hyundai Motor America) |
| 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS | $62,095 starting price (Associated Press) | 3.4 seconds; AP also reports up to 615 hp in WOW launch-control mode | 303 miles, EPA-estimated (Associated Press) |
| 2025 Kia EV6 GT | $65,295 starting price (Associated Press) | Estimated 3.3 seconds (Associated Press) | 231 miles, Kia-estimated (Associated Press) |
2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N
At a reported starting MSRP of $59,900, the IONIQ 5 N has the lowest starting price in this comparison. Its approximately 3.25-second claim is conditional: Hyundai specifies N Launch Control and N Grin Boost. The 221-mile range is an EPA estimate, and Hyundai cautions that actual results can vary with options, driving conditions, driving habits and vehicle condition. The starting MSRP excludes freight and other charges.
2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS
The AP-reported $62,095 starting price and 3.4-second 0–60 mph claim put the 2025 Blazer EV SS ahead of the base Carrera on the stated acceleration metric. AP reports up to 615 horsepower in WOW launch-control mode and a 303-mile EPA-estimated range. Those are 2025 model-year figures, not confirmation of a current 2026 or 2027 price or specification.

2025 Kia EV6 GT
AP reports a $65,295 starting price and an estimated 3.3-second 0–60 mph time for the 2025 EV6 GT. Its 231-mile range is Kia-estimated, as reported by AP. The acceleration figure is an estimate, and the captured price and specifications apply to the 2025 model year.
Why the list has three entries, not ten
The available figures do not substantiate ten distinct current EVs with both a qualifying acceleration claim and a verified price. The Tesla Model 3 Performance is reported on Tesla’s product page as reaching 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, but the available information does not establish the applicable model year or current US price. It therefore cannot be confirmed here as a cheap option. The three listed vehicles are the candidates for which both a lower starting price than the base Carrera and a quicker reported time are documented.

What the acceleration comparison does—and does not—tell you
A lower 0–60 mph number indicates a quicker claimed launch in a straight line; it does not establish that an EV crossover and a 911 are equivalent cars. The cited figures do not compare handling, braking, sustained track pace or overall driving feel, and the acceleration claims do not all share the same conditions or method. Range figures also have different estimating authorities: Hyundai’s and Chevrolet’s are EPA estimates, while Kia’s is Kia-estimated.
Prices are starting figures from US manufacturer pages or AP reporting, not quotes for a particular buyer, location or transaction date. The cited material does not establish a shared basis for local taxes, fees or incentives. Porsche’s 911 starting prices exclude options and fees; Hyundai also expressly excludes freight and other charges from its IONIQ 5 N MSRP.

Why the Taycan is not one of the cheaper picks
Porsche’s own 2027 Taycan figures show why the model name alone is not a performance comparison: the base Taycan is listed at $111,900 and 4.5 seconds to 60 mph, while the Taycan Turbo GT is listed at $243,700 and 2.2 seconds. Those versions differ substantially in both price and acceleration, and neither changes which benchmark 911 trim the three lower-priced EVs beat.
