The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt is back as a limited-run electric car, with a Chevrolet-estimated 262 miles of EPA range, up to 150 kW DC fast charging and a standard NACS charge port. Chevrolet says it is available at dealerships nationwide. Its listed price depends on which Chevrolet page and date you consult, so the figures should not be treated as interchangeable.
What’s new on the 2027 Bolt?
Chevrolet announced the Bolt’s return in October 2025, added final specifications in January 2026 and said in April 2026 that the car was available at dealerships nationwide. The company describes it as a limited-run model. The announcement and specifications are in Chevrolet’s launch announcement; availability was reported in its April 2026 newsroom article.
The headline upgrades are a longer stated range than the previous Bolt’s published figures, quicker DC charging capability and a native NACS port. Chevrolet’s official figures describe the vehicle; they are not independent road-test results.
How much does the 2027 Chevy Bolt cost?
Chevrolet’s product page displays a $27,600 starting price, while its April 2026 newsroom article gives a $28,995 starting MSRP. The October 2025 launch announcement said the launch LT MSRP was $29,990, including a $1,395 destination freight charge, and identified $28,995 including destination freight as the price for a later, more affordable LT. These are page- and time-specific prices with stated bases, not a single reconciled current transaction price.

Before shopping, check Chevrolet’s live Bolt product page and the dealer’s written quote for the selected trim, destination charge, options, taxes, incentives and availability. A displayed starting price is not the same as an out-the-door price.
Chevrolet calls the Bolt America’s most affordable EV. That is the automaker’s characterization, not an independently verified ranking across all models, trims, incentives, locations and dates. Chevrolet’s Bolt-versus-Leaf comparison is also manufacturer-authored promotional material, not a market-wide price survey.
How far can the 2027 Bolt go on a charge?
Chevrolet lists an EPA-estimated range of 262 miles. EPA-estimated range is a standardized estimate, not a guarantee of the distance a driver will cover in ordinary use. Speed, weather, terrain, cabin heating or cooling, payload and driving style can affect energy use and practical range. The current specification appears on Chevrolet’s product page.
How quickly does it charge?
Chevrolet specifies up to 150 kW DC fast-charging capability and estimates a 10%–80% charge in about 25 minutes under public DC fast-charging conditions. That is an estimate, not a fixed stop time: charging performance depends on factors including starting charge, battery condition and temperature, charger output and vehicle settings.
Home charging
Chevrolet lists up to 11.5 kW AC charging capability. Its published examples estimate about 4 miles of range per hour from a 120-volt outlet, about 27 miles per hour from a 240-volt, 7.7 kW dual-level cord, and about 40 miles per hour from a 240-volt, 11.5 kW setup. These are Chevrolet estimates; actual charging depends on conditions and equipment.

- Window box measures: 9.75"L x 4.5"W x 4"H
The 11.5 kW home setup requires a dedicated 60-amp charging station, which Chevrolet says is sold separately and must be professionally installed. Have a qualified electrician assess the home’s electrical service and installation needs before choosing equipment; do not assume a charger listing is compatible based on its name or advertised amperage alone.
Public charging and the NACS port
A native NACS charge port is standard. Chevrolet says the Bolt can use compatible Tesla Superchargers that support NACS. Drivers should verify station compatibility, access requirements and availability along a planned route rather than assume every connector or site will work. Chevrolet’s product details and charging qualifications are on its official Bolt page.

Chevrolet reported nationwide dealership availability in April 2026, but that does not establish inventory at a particular dealer today. Because Chevrolet calls the Bolt a limited-run model, check local stock and ask the dealer to confirm the vehicle’s trim, equipment and delivery timing before making plans.
Why did Chevrolet bring the Bolt back?
Chevrolet says customer response helped prompt the return. In its March 2026 engineering article, chief engineer Jeremy Short explained the company’s affordability approach: “Everybody thinks you get the MSRP down by removing content,” he said. “More important than all that is economies of scale. That is by far the most powerful driver in this.” The quote is from Chevrolet’s interview in its March 2026 article; it describes the automaker’s explanation, not an independent cost analysis.
