Audi officially revealed an upgraded Q4 e-tron on April 27, 2026, so the “spied” stage is over. The refresh brings revised exterior details and lighting, a larger central touchscreen with an optional passenger display, and an updated drive system Audi says is around 10 percent more efficient than before. European specifications and German launch prices are public; U.S. range, trim, equipment, and pricing details were still unresolved in the U.S. reporting reviewed.
What changed on the 2027 Audi Q4 e-tron?
Audi announced a product upgrade for the Q4 e-tron family, covering both the SUV and Sportback. Car and Driver associates the update with the 2027 model year in the United States, but Audi’s announcement describes the refreshed model rather than confirming every U.S.-market specification. The earlier spy-photo framing is now simply pre-reveal context.
Audi Board of Management member Marco Schubert described the upgrade as making the Q4 e-tron “more modern and striking in appearance” and said it improves the interior. That is Audi’s characterization, not an independent assessment.
How has the exterior changed?
The update is evolutionary rather than a wholesale redesign. Audi lists a body-color Singleframe grille, revised bumpers and aerodynamic details, three new exterior colors, and five new wheel designs.

Lighting also gets new options: segmented digital LED daytime running lights allow selectable signatures, while second-generation digital OLED rear lights and proximity detection are available depending on specification. These features are not necessarily standard on every version. Audi’s April 27, 2026 announcement describes the exterior and lighting changes.
What is new inside?
The most visible cabin change is the “digital stage”: an 11.9-inch instrument cluster alongside a 12.8-inch MMI touch display. A 12-inch passenger display is optional, so buyers should check the equipment list for their market and trim rather than assume it is included.

Audi also lists a redesigned center console, cooled inductive charging trays, dynamic interaction lighting, and an optional augmented-reality head-up display. The infotainment system is based on Android Automotive OS. Audi’s announcement does not establish that all these items will be standard across every regional lineup.
What range and charging figures has Audi announced?
Audi says revisions to the motor, power electronics, and software improve efficiency by around 10 percent versus the previous model. That is the manufacturer’s comparison for the updated drive system, not a U.S. EPA range rating.

For Europe, Audi lists up to 592 km of range for the Q4 Sportback e-tron performance. It also says Q4 quattro performance variants can charge at up to 185 kW and take about 27 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent under Audi’s stated conditions. These are variant-specific, Audi-published European figures; they should not be applied to every Q4 version or treated as U.S. estimates. Can the refreshed Q4 e-tron power a home or other devices?
Audi says the upgrade makes the Q4 e-tron its first model with bidirectional charging. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) can power devices using an outlet in the trunk or an optional adapter connected at the charging port. Audi’s announcement does not identify the adapter’s part number or establish retail availability.

Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) is described for use with a compatible DC wallbox in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Audi’s published geographic qualification matters: its announcement does not establish V2H availability in other markets, nor does it name a compatible wallbox model.

Audi said European orders would open in May 2026, with deliveries expected in summer. Its German launch prices are €47,500 for the Q4 SUV e-tron with a 63 kWh gross battery and a €1,950 surcharge for the Sportback. These are German launch prices, not a U.S. price list.

Car and Driver reported Audi confirmation of U.S. arrival and described the update as likely for model year 2027, while noting that U.S.-specific details were still pending. Accordingly, U.S. range, trims, equipment, and pricing figures in that coverage are expectations or estimates rather than confirmed specifications. Regional information also varied: Audi New Zealand said on May 5, 2026, that its local lineup was not yet confirmed, and Audi Australia said on April 28, 2026, that its local specification and arrival timing were not confirmed then. Those statements reflect the dates of those reports, not a guarantee of current availability.
What should buyers compare when U.S. specifications are published?
Look beyond the model name when comparing versions. Body style, drivetrain, battery, power variant, test cycle, and equipment can all change the figures or features that matter:
