The 2026 Triumph Tiger Sport 660 has touring-friendly equipment and a substantially updated 660cc triple, but the available specifications alone cannot establish that it is affordable, comfortable on long rides, or a good fit for every first-time buyer. Triumph lists a UK on-the-road price of £9,295 and a standard seat height of 835mm; the right choice depends on local pricing, rider fit, and how manageable the bike feels to you.
What changed on the 2026 Tiger Sport 660?
Triumph lists a liquid-cooled 660cc inline three-cylinder engine producing 95 PS (70 kW) at 11,250 rpm and 68 Nm at 8,250 rpm. The earlier manufacturer launch specification listed 81 PS and 64 Nm; that earlier figure should not be assumed to describe every intervening model year. The 2026 numbers are manufacturer specifications, not independent test measurements. Triumph’s 2026 Tiger Sport 660 specifications
The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, chain final drive, and wet multi-plate slip-and-assist clutch. Rider technology listed by Triumph includes Sport, Road, and Rain modes, a six-axis IMU, Optimised Cornering ABS, switchable Optimised Cornering Traction Control, Triumph Shift Assist, cruise control, TFT/LCD instrumentation, and MyTriumph connectivity. Equipment availability and operation should be confirmed for the specific market and bike.
Does its equipment make it suitable for touring?
Triumph specifies an 18.6-litre fuel tank, a screen adjustable with one hand, and remote rear preload adjustment. The listed optional luggage consists of panniers with 57 litres of combined capacity and a 49-litre top box. Those specifications support the bike’s touring use case, but they do not establish real-world range, wind protection, passenger comfort, or how it behaves fully loaded.

Triumph’s Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Stroud, describes the Tiger Sport 660 as intended for commuting, weekend riding, and longer trips, “often two-up and fully loaded.” That is the manufacturer’s positioning, not an independent assessment of comfort or capability. For two-up travel, consider the passenger’s actual seat comfort and space, luggage mounting and load limits, and the bike’s handling with the intended load. Check 2026-model compatibility, part numbers, and required mounting hardware before buying accessories.
Will it suit a first-time buyer?
The standard seat height is 835mm and Triumph lists wet weight at 211kg. An optional low seat reduces the listed seat height to 810mm. Seat height alone does not determine whether a motorcycle is manageable: inseam, leg shape, balance, confidence, and experience at low speeds all matter. The published specifications cannot determine whether this bike will fit a particular rider.

Whether it is affordable depends on the buyer’s market and budget, and a fair comparison should include the cost of any luggage, accessories, insurance, and ownership expenses relevant to the buyer. The available information does not establish that the Tiger Sport 660 is less expensive than comparable touring motorcycles.

Triumph publishes fuel consumption of 4.9 l/100km (57.6 mpg). The manufacturer notes that this figure comes from specific test conditions and may not match real-world riding, so it should not be used as a promise of range. The 18.6-litre tank capacity likewise does not establish how far a rider will travel between refuelling; that depends on actual consumption and riding conditions.
