An early prototype video from 2024 offers historical context, but the exact original spy photos implied by this headline cannot be authenticated from the available sources. The production model’s specifications below are Porsche’s claims, not conclusions that can be drawn from those unidentified images.
What the early Cayenne EV spy sighting can—and cannot—show
CarSpyMedia published a video of a camouflaged Cayenne EV prototype on June 6, 2024. It documents an early development vehicle, not necessarily the final production specification. The original still-photo gallery associated with the “spy photos” framing is not identified in the available source record, so image-specific details cannot be verified here.
That distinction matters: camouflage and prototype hardware can conceal or change details before a vehicle reaches production. The video is useful as evidence that Porsche was testing an electric Cayenne, but it does not establish the production car’s exact dimensions, cabin layout, seating configuration, or platform lineage. Porsche’s later disclosures are the reliable basis for describing the model now on sale.
What Porsche has confirmed about the production Cayenne Electric
Porsche presents the Cayenne Electric as part of the Cayenne family alongside combustion-engine and plug-in hybrid versions. Its U.S. product page identifies the electric range as 2027 model year and lists three SUV trims. The figures below are Porsche’s current U.S. manufacturer specifications and starting MSRPs, accessed in 2026; they are not independent test results.

Porsche says the listed MSRPs exclude options and additional charges shown on its product page, and that dealers determine actual selling prices. Treat the figures as U.S.-market starting prices for the stated model year, not global prices or a prediction of a buyer’s final transaction cost. Porsche’s product listing is at Porsche USA’s Cayenne Electric page.
Charging: Porsche’s stated limits
Porsche says the Cayenne Electric can accept DC charging at up to 400 kW and supports home wallbox charging at up to 9.6 kW on its U.S. product page. These are maximum stated charging capabilities, not a promise that every charging session will reach those rates. Actual charging depends on the vehicle, equipment, charger, battery and operating conditions. Porsche also describes inductive charging as an optional feature whose availability is qualified; check the current listing for market and equipment details. If you are choosing a home charger, verify connector compatibility, installation needs and local electrical requirements before purchasing. Porsche’s wallbox charging statement does not establish that any particular third-party charger is approved or compatible.
SUV or Coupé: the body-style choice
Porsche announced Cayenne Electric Coupé models in 2026. The Coupé adds a sloping roofline and a distinct body style; Porsche says it shares key interior, powertrain and suspension technology with the SUV body styles. The announcement does not make the Coupé the same body configuration as the SUV, so shoppers should compare the specific body style and equipment offered in their market. Details are in Porsche’s 2026 Coupé announcement.

How to read the headline in light of the production reveal
The early sighting supports a narrow conclusion: Porsche was testing a camouflaged electric Cayenne by June 2024. It cannot authenticate the exact still photos referenced by the headline or prove that a visible prototype detail carried through unchanged to production. For current trim, price, performance and equipment information, Porsche’s later product materials are more relevant than an unidentified image set.
