What changed on the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder?
Nissan does not publish an official numbered list of six improvements. The first five sections below cover documented refresh and equipment changes; the sixth explains the powertrain and features that depend on trim. Equipment can vary by trim and configuration. The comparison uses Nissan’s 2025 specifications as the prior-year baseline and its 2026 brochure for current listed equipment.
1. Updated front and rear styling
Nissan describes changes to the Pathfinder’s front and rear fascia. This is a refresh of the existing model, not a new-generation redesign. The announcement calls the update a “fresh look.” Nissan’s 2026 refresh announcement outlines the exterior changes.
2. A 12.3-inch infotainment screen
The 2026 brochure lists a 12.3-inch infotainment display across the trims shown. That is a clear step up from the 2025 specifications: the S and SV had 8-inch displays, while the SL and Platinum had 9-inch displays. 3. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across listed trims
Nissan lists wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto compatibility across the trims shown in the 2026 brochure. The 2025 specifications list wireless Apple CarPlay for SL and Platinum, which supports broader availability for Apple CarPlay in 2026. The cited 2025 comparison does not establish that Android Auto is newly added, so it should not be described as a new-for-2026 feature.
4. A restyled dashboard and trim-specific cabin materials
Nissan describes the dashboard as restyled. The 2026 brochure also lists Black Ash open-pore wood-tone trim for Platinum; it is a Platinum detail, not a cabin finish shared across every Pathfinder. The 2026 brochure shows how interior equipment varies by trim.

5. More Rock Creek feature availability
Nissan says the refresh brings greater feature availability to the Rock Creek grade. The brochure lists Rock Creek-specific equipment including Intelligent 4×4, all-terrain tires and a tubular roof rack, along with a distinct V6 output of 295 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. What carries over, and what depends on trim?
V6 power and nine-speed automatic
The 2026 Pathfinder continues with a 3.5-liter V6 and nine-speed automatic transmission. Nissan lists 284 hp and 259 lb-ft for most trims, while Rock Creek is listed at 295 hp and 270 lb-ft. These are manufacturer specifications, and the continuing V6 is not itself a new refresh improvement. The 2026 brochure provides the trim-specific figures.

Digital displays and driver assistance are not universal
The 12.3-inch digital dashboard is listed for SL and Platinum, while the Head-Up Display is listed for Platinum. Nissan describes ProPILOT Assist as helping with lane centering and following distance, including stop-and-go operation; it is driver assistance, not autonomous driving. Towing and passenger capacity depend on configuration
Nissan advertises towing capacity of up to 6,000 lb, but that maximum applies to specified trim and configuration combinations; it is not a rating for every Pathfinder as equipped. Consult the trim and configuration ratings in Nissan’s 2026 brochure before matching a vehicle to a trailer. The Pathfinder can seat up to eight, or seven when configured with second-row captain’s chairs. Is the 2026 refresh a major redesign?
No: Nissan characterizes it as a refresh, and its published changes center on styling, infotainment, connectivity, cabin details and Rock Creek equipment. The V6 and nine-speed automatic carry on. Buyers comparing trims should focus on which technology and capability items are listed for the configuration they want, rather than assuming every new or highlighted feature is standard across the range.
