The 2026 Nissan Kicks starts at $22,730 for the S with front-wheel drive, before a separately listed $1,545 destination and handling charge. Nissan’s U.S. lineup has three grades—S, SV and SR—with front- or all-wheel drive. The S now includes a 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while Nissan’s published EPA estimates are 31 mpg combined for FWD and 30 mpg combined for AWD. Those prices and specifications make the Kicks worth a close look, but manufacturer materials alone cannot establish how fun it is to drive.
How much does the 2026 Nissan Kicks cost?
Nissan North America’s August 22, 2025 announcement lists the following U.S. suggested retail prices. Destination and handling is $1,545 extra; taxes, title, license, options, dealer pricing and any incentives also affect the final transaction price. Nissan’s announcement provides the published figures.
| Grade | FWD MSRP | AWD MSRP |
|---|---|---|
| S | $22,730 | $24,230 |
| SV | $24,470 | $26,120 |
| SR | $26,960 | $28,460 |
Within each grade, the AWD version carries a higher MSRP than the FWD version. The starting price is an entry point, not a promise of the price a local dealer will charge.
What’s new for 2026?
The notable change called out by Nissan is on the S: it gains a standard 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, along with two front USB-C ports. Nissan’s 2026 announcement identifies this as new equipment for the model year.

FWD or AWD?
Nissan’s published EPA estimates favor FWD slightly. The figures are estimates for comparison, not observed real-world results:
| Drivetrain | EPA city | EPA highway | EPA combined |
|---|---|---|---|
| FWD | 28 mpg | 35 mpg | 31 mpg |
| AWD | 27 mpg | 34 mpg | 30 mpg |
Nissan says actual mileage varies. The published difference is one mpg in each listed measure; whether AWD is worthwhile depends on your needs, not just that estimate. Nissan’s pricing and specifications announcement is the source for both the estimates and trim prices.

“Surprisingly fun” is not a conclusion established by Nissan’s specifications. The available material gives engine output, transmission and fuel-economy estimates, but does not provide independent driving impressions or instrumented results for acceleration, ride, handling or cabin noise. A buyer should take a test drive to judge those qualities rather than treating the power figures as a verdict.
